My time as a training class assistant for Puppy Manners and New Dog Basics at the San Francisco SPCA gave me valuable skills in positive reinforcement training, socialization, and handling dogs of all temperaments. With a flexible schedule, I’m available for daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and customized care based on each pet’s needs. Whether it’s a midday walk, feeding and playtime, or extra TLC for pets recovering from surgery, I tailor my services to fit both routine and special care requirements. My experience with dogs, cats, and even horses means I’m comfortable handling a variety of schedules—from structured training sessions to free-spirited outdoor adventures. No matter the time of day, I ensure pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. At my home, we have a fully fenced yard, providing a secure and spacious area for dogs to play and explore. Your pup will also have built-in companionship with our two friendly dogs, ensuring plenty of socialization and fun. For exercise and enrichment, we have scenic trails nearby, perfect for peaceful walks in the woods—giving dogs a chance to sniff, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. About: With over two decades of animal care experience, my journey began as a child caring for our family's English Springer Spaniels and cats, where I discovered my natural affinity for animals. This early passion made me the go-to caretaker for classroom pets throughout my school years. As an adult, I've owned several dogs, including a beloved Boxer who shared 10 wonderful years with me, and currently care for two rescue dogs - a Labrador Mix and a Pit Bull Terrier Mix. Through my extensive volunteer work at a local dog shelter since 2021, I manage the daily care and cleaning for up to 25 dogs, many with complex medical needs or behavioral challenges. My professional pet sitting experience spans over three years with private clients, and I've developed expertise in handling medium to large breeds with high energy and prey drive. I'm equally comfortable caring for shy and timid smaller breeds, reactive dogs, and senior pets requiring medication. My feline experience includes managing a Maine Coon cattery of 10-20 cats, and I've cared for cats in all life stages, from newborn kittens to pregnant mothers. Beyond cats and dogs, my animal care expertise extends to reptiles, aquarium maintenance, and farm animals including chickens, goats, and horses. It’s a gift to be able to connect with animals. I love to return the positive energy an animal gives. I feel like every animal deserves kindness. I feel like I have a gift to be able read, understand, calm and relax and add happiness to an animal’s day. They are therapy for me as much as I feel I am for them. I’m happiest and genuinely feel most at-ease with animals. It’s important for me they feel comfortable with and around me. I know that much like human children, routine is very important to pets. If you need me to check in on them, feed /water them, potty breaks/short walks/close-by parks/play toss-the-ball, hug/cuddle/companion-time or stay at your home I am available to help. I develop unique connections to each animal I’m around and grateful to be around each one. Whatever a pet-owner needs me to do to help make their pet’s day better, I’m up for the challenge. Animals make my day, daily! Whether it be my friend’s dogs & cats or the Brahma bull that is up the road, I try to see an animal each day. About: I always jump at the opportunity to pet, play, cuddle with any dog but I am also a former dog mom of 10 years which means I have experience doing all of the things a dog parent does: grooming, trimming nails, feeding, walking/hiking, training (potty/walks/kennel/sit, stay, etc.), cleaning up doggy messes, socializing, administering medicine, establishing a schedule, etc. I am very active so I can keep up with your dog's energy and can also be their cuddle buddy when they're tired! In addition, I have experience caring for anywhere from 1-7 dogs at a time ranging from puppy to senior and chihuahua to husky so I understand that each dog is unique and will need care adjusted to their needs and personality. My availability is flexible and dependent on your location and the amount of days you're looking for! I'm an educator, however, I'm taking a break from full time teaching to pursue my passion of permaculture. My schedule is much more flexible now and I'd like to spend my extra time with some furry friends! I'm a very tidy and clean person so I would be sure to follow any routines you have set in place as well as clean up after myself and your pet. I am comfortable kenneling your pet or letting them roam, whatever's your preference!
