“Tiffany was a great Dog sitter. Her customer service was exceptional to let me know about my dog and how was he doing with pictures. Always on time and very professional. I will definitely consider her services again should the need arise.”

“Blas was a consummate professional and kept me in the loop about every feeding and every walk, sending pictures and treated my Ella like a queen! Will definitely be booking with Blas again in the future.”

“Makayla has been really helpful and understanding with Mili. We had to hire her for mid day visits during the time I had to be away from the country for more than two months. Mili wasn’t coping very well with it as she was being left alone in the house for prolonged hours! Makayla managed her energy and took care of her during her visits and was very understanding and flexible with everything. She once had to deal with the mess caused my mili tearing up a stuffed toy. She picked it all up and let us know that one part of the toy was missing which helped us take action on time and make sure my pup was safe. I really appreciate her being proactive in difficult situations and would definitely trust her and recommend her.”

About: Growing up with furry friends was the best. Understanding their needs, and wants, including bathing, feeding, exercising and loving them, has been amazingly fruitful for both the animal and myself. I’m currently a student with a flexible schedule, so there is a lot of opportunity for taking care of your little buddy! I am flexible with setting an ongoing schedule or flexible when needed. Amenities: a large fenced yard, lots of sidewalk space surrounded by dog parks and a cozy home to host your little love. I have a huge passion for being outside and going for any type of walk which I always have an affinity to do with a furry friend. I work a very flexible schedule from home most days of the week, so I’m available almost at any time you may need. Weekends are almost completely available for me as well. I have a fenced, clean yard that’s quite spacious behind our house. There is a lot of sidewalk to keep us walking, and there’s also plenty of opportunity to have fun at the dog parks just minutes walk from my home.
About: I've cared for birds, big breed dogs, cats and even a tarantula. I am good at hiding medicine in treats or convincing a cat to swallow a pill. I've even raised and cared for baby birds and kittens. I'm currently studying and needed a flexible job. I like to move my body around but get bored at the gym and miss my walks with my great dane after she passed. A walk with a pup is more fun that the stair-master at the gym I am the friend my friends call to watch there pets. I'm really good when it comes to maintaining and up-keeping any kennels or pet rooms clean. I also like to wash bowls if their owners don't mind.
“Caitlyn was a lifesaver! I planned a trip on short notice and didn’t know what to do with my cat Michi. Thankfully, Caitlyn accepted my request despite being short notice and took to heart the specific care that Michi needs (she’s a needy cat). Caitlyn kept me posted with frequent updates and daily videos of Michi which really made me traveling a lot easier. Book Caitlyn. You won’t regret it!”

About: Hi! I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember. I truly grew up around them, and they’ve always been a huge part of my life. I have an enormous love for animals, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. As a dog owner myself, I completely understand how hard it can be to leave your fur baby behind when you have work, travel, or other responsibilities. That’s why I make it a priority to create a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where your pup feels at home. Communication is very important to me, so you can expect regular updates, photos, and reassurance while you’re away. I want you to feel at ease knowing your dog is in good hands. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and wellbeing will always come first with me I currently work from home . I am doing this because I know how hard it is to leave your pet when you have responsibilities. Leaving them with someone who is also trustworthy is the most important part. I have a fur baby as well that is 8 months. Her name is Mia she is a toy poodle she is the most love able little girl, she will definitely keep your dog company and play with them. My house is very secure, I do have a balcony but it is 100% secure as well.

About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and hands-on experience caring for multiple dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training like sitting and paw, and I focus on consistency and positive interactions. With my background in social work, I’m calm, attentive, and responsive, which helps me provide a safe and structured environment. I take the time to understand each dog’s routine so they feel comfortable and well cared for. Pet care is an important part of my daily routine since I have pets of my own that I care for every day. I work full-time during the week, but I’m available in the evenings and weekends. I’m very organized and used to planning my day around feeding schedules, walks, and giving pets the attention they need, so providing consistent and reliable care fits naturally into my routine. I currently provide pet care in my client’s home to ensure each pet stays comfortable in their own environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. I also make sure to give them attention, monitor their behavior, and keep the space clean. At home, I care for my own pets daily by maintaining a consistent routine with feeding, walks, and attention, which helps me stay organized and attentive when caring for other pets as well.
“Jessica was wonderful! Very professional, obviously loves pets, and took great care of my dog Jake! She was very communicative and sent several pictures. I will definitely use her again!”

Happy to take care of your pet(s) while you’re away! :) I work from home! So if you need something during the day or night, I’ll be able to pop over easily. Weekends and nights are no worry either. About: I am a certified Veterinary Technician in two states and have 5+ years of experience providing petsitting services. Throughout my life, I have had companions of all shapes and sizes & am ready to share my love with yours! From dogs to pocket pets, my experience has given me the knowledge on how to interact with animals at any age & different energy levels. I feel comfortable with senior pets as well and can administer medication as needed! I am generally free anytime these days! I've just moved back home so I am still getting into the swing of things! I update my schedule as frequently as possible so there are no surprises. During meet & greets, I try to ask as many questions as possible to get a clear understanding of your pet's schedule (usually bringing a notepad to jot things down). I don't like to stray far from their usual routine if I don't have to (if I can mitigate their stress/anxiety levels I will). I am an advocate for crate training, but will keep your pet within the house limits that are set. Food restrictions will be followed & pictures/text updates will be sent in a timely manner or as requested!

“Erika is INCREDIBLE! I would recommend her 1000 times over. My cat is a bit shy and takes a bit to warm up. She sat with him and made sure he was comfortable. She played with him and took care of everything he needed and sent so many wonderful updates.”

“Kim was an excellent sitter for my two kittens, I felt comfortable knowing she was in their care and she made sure to send me updates and photos daily, would definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve always had a natural connection with animals and genuinely enjoy making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. My experience includes caring for animals in a hands-on farm environment, along with providing attentive, responsible care for pets with different personalities and needs. What sets me apart is my patience and attention to detail. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, comfort level, and individual needs rather than treating every pet the same. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, exercise, cleanliness, medications when applicable, and any changes in behavior. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or simply needs some extra companionship while you’re away, my goal is to make them feel secure, loved, and at home. I currently work part-time in the mornings for about four hours a day, which leaves me with plenty of availability in the afternoons and evenings. I’m able to accommodate pet sitting, dog walking, drop-in visits, and other care needs around my schedule. I’m flexible and happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and the owner’s preferred schedule. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. When visiting a client’s home, I follow their instructions and routines closely, including feeding, providing fresh water, walks, playtime, and cleaning up after their pets. I’m attentive to each animal’s personality and comfort level, giving affection and companionship when they’re receptive while also respecting their boundaries. I currently care for the cats around my residence by providing food and fresh water, giving them affection when they’re comfortable with it, and cleaning up after them. I understand that every animal has different needs and personalities, and I treat each pet with patience, kindness, and respect.

Jimmy (cat daddy) was so amazing! Got into my apartment with no trouble, was on time, and sent lots of sweet pictures and notes that made me feel at peace when I was gone from the fur babies. Thank you again, Jimmy, and glad I found a go-to cat sitter when I travel!

Rachel is an absolute angel. My cat fell in love with her immediately. Rachel provided great pictures and updates every single day which helped me know that my cat was doing well and I could relax during my vacation. I will hire Rachel again in the future anytime I need a sitter. Thank you for everything, Rachel. Lily sends you many kisses.

We had such a wonderful experience! She took amazing care of my sweet Bella. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
