About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. I am a school teacher, and with school now in session, my available has shifted. I am available each day starting approximately at 3:30 and can do early morning prior to school. I would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.

First time using Rover, and Stephanie made it a stress free experience. She offered to meet with our dog (Callie) first, prior to booking, to get a feel for her and her routine. Callie had a great time on her walk and was a happy camper.

About: You can relax, knowing your pup will be treated like one of our own. My family has years of experience working with several different breeds and temperaments. We love them all and we’ll give them the very best care! I also have years of experience pet sitting, as well as, dog walking. We have fostered so many amazing pups and love to make their lives better. I’m home Monday through Friday so your pup will never be alone. I have had several clients that I enjoyed working with very much. I provide security inside and outside and give each pup lots of love and attention. I have a large fenced in yard, your pup will have full access to. They will be let out several times a day and played with. I have three small pups of my own, all under 35 pounds. I take the time to meet every client before their first stay to ensure everyone gets along and so you can see where your pup will be staying. There is also have a separate space to give new pups the opportunity to have alone time.

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve cared for a wide range of pets — from cats and dogs to small animals. I have three dogs of my own, so I understand the importance of routine, patience, and genuine love when it comes to pet care. My dogs currently live with my parents 2 miles down the road from me! My experience includes handling multiple pets at once, caring for senior dogs, and understanding different personalities and energy levels. I treat every pet like family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work early mornings at Hershey Hospital and typically finish around 4:30 PM, which gives me plenty of time for evening walks, drop-ins, and overnight care if needed. On my days off, I’m fully available for daytime care as well. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pets get the care and attention they deserve! For the safety and comfort of your pets, I care for them in their own familiar environment — your home — where they feel most relaxed and secure. I follow all of your instructions carefully to keep their routine as normal as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special needs they may have. I always prioritize their well-being and treat your home and pets with the utmost respect and care.

About: I have always loved dogs. I grew up with an English Golden Retriever and learned how to take care of him and give him medicine as he aged. A few years back I got a Border Collie and trained her. I taught her commands from sitting to closing a door to not eat anything off the ground. I love taking her on hikes and we recently completed an agility class together. I have walked dogs many times and would love to take care of yours! I'm currently working part-time, so I will have a lot of free time to walk your dog! Early mornings to mid day works best for me! I am available Monday-Thursday, and the occasional Saturday mornings. I am to able to create a safe and relaxing environment for your dogs. I am able to crate dogs and put up gates in the house to keep them safe at all times.

About: Hi, I'm Bob – a retired non-profit professional and lifelong animal lover based in Ephrata, PA. With over 50 years of experience caring for dogs and other pets, I offer reliable, compassionate pet sitting services right in your neighborhood. Whether it's daily walking the dog, feeding or long-term caring, I am anxious to care for your pet. As someone who now has the time and flexibility to focus on what I love, I treat every pet like family. Over the years, I've cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments – from energetic puppies to senior companions – and I'm happy to provide references from longtime pet owners who trust me with their beloved animals. Without the demands of a 9-to-5 job, I have the time and energy to provide dedicated, one-on-one care to pets in a calm and comfortable environment. Whether it’s daily check-ins, overnight stays, or long walks, I’m able to adjust to your pet’s routine and needs — and I truly enjoy the companionship they bring into my life. For me, this isn’t just a side job — it’s a meaningful way to stay active, helpful, and connected to the community. Some pets are happiest in their own surroundings — and I’m happy to come to them. I offer drop-in visits, walks, or extended stays depending on your needs. While you're away, I’ll keep your pet’s routine consistent and provide updates, photos, and peace of mind. I respect your home and your pet’s habits and will treat both with the same care and responsibility I’d expect for my own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,057 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Lexington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Lexington. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Lexington.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lexington. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
