“Jordan saved the day with our last minute request for daycare while we were in Lancaster on a college visit. Our 90 lb pup had a great time frolicking with Jordan’s dog and a couple others. Will definitely return and let Griffin visit with Jordan’s crew again soon!”

“I have been bringing my dogs to Angelita weekly for about a year now and I cannot overstate how wonderful she is. She is responsive, flexible in scheduling, and takes such great care of the dogs. She documents their entire day and always sends them home with treats. She even bought them Christmas gifts this year. I truly cant say enough good things.”

About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. As a school teacher, I enjoy a very flexible schedule during the summer months and would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.
About: We’re an empty nest couple with no children or other pets in the home. We recently lost our beloved dog and while we’re enjoying the freedom of not having a pet, we still love caring for furry friends! Our home has a fully fenced yard and we’re ready to provide a safe, loving environment for your dog while you’re away! We own a business and operate out of our home so there’s always someone around to give your pet attention, feedings and potty breaks throughout the day. We provide attentive, loving care for your pet. Dogs are let out on a regular schedule for potty breaks, exercise, and fresh air. Weather permitting, they’ll enjoy supervised playtime in our fenced in yard. We give plenty of attention, belly rubs and companionship so your pup feels safe.
About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve cared for a wide range of pets — from cats and dogs to small animals. I have three dogs of my own, so I understand the importance of routine, patience, and genuine love when it comes to pet care. My dogs currently live with my parents 2 miles down the road from me! My experience includes handling multiple pets at once, caring for senior dogs, and understanding different personalities and energy levels. I treat every pet like family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work early mornings at Hershey Hospital and typically finish around 4:30 PM, which gives me plenty of time for evening walks, drop-ins, and overnight care if needed. On my days off, I’m fully available for daytime care as well. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pets get the care and attention they deserve! For the safety and comfort of your pets, I care for them in their own familiar environment — your home — where they feel most relaxed and secure. I follow all of your instructions carefully to keep their routine as normal as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special needs they may have. I always prioritize their well-being and treat your home and pets with the utmost respect and care.
About: I have been working at a Pet Resort for over a 2 years. I work at Neffsville Veterinary Clinic. I have two dogs of my own. I enjoy caring for dogs and playing with them and or just relaxing with them. I am currently working part-time. 2-4 days a week 6 hour shifts. Meaning more time with pets. I will be having a baby in February! So cat litter is something I cannot handle at this time. When I am there I will take them out as much as they would like. I will feed them the exact time you normally do. I will sleep with them so they know they are not alone. I will take them on daily walks. Or I will do what you are most comfortable with closest to your routine.
“My little boy loved daycare at Heather and Spencer's. He romped with her poodles, took a nice snooze, and had kisses galore for Heather. Already booked our next play date.”

“Great sitters for our dog Meadow who tends to have a little separation anxiety. She felt very comfortable and at home there. I would definitely recommend to anyone.”

“Amanda was quick to respond and answered all my questions. She was attentive to our puppy's needs and shared an update with us during the day. She was personable and treated our dog like one of her own. We would be happy to have her watch our puppy again!”

“Our pup Josie is working on separation anxiety and Mai was willing to work with us. We were hopeful and it turned out great! It takes a special person with patience, love and a gentleness to care for animals and Mai is just. Not worrying when we are away is a really good feeling and we are very grateful that we have met Mai!”

“Boots had a fantastic stay with Danielle and Brianna! They were incredibly kind, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs. He spent the day with their four dogs and had such a great time socializing and playing—we could tell he felt comfortable and happy in their care. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such a welcoming and attentive environment. We’d absolutely trust them with Boots again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters.”

About: Hello! I have grown up with and taken care of dogs since 7 years old, and have been a pet parent since 22 years old. A few years ago, I worked at a doggy day care facility in Gaithersburg, MD, for 2.5 years before moving to Lititz, PA. From that experience, I learned firsthand about body language, signs, and signals to ensure safety for all dogs I was responsible for. I have senior experience as well, as my parents' dog, a 15-year-old lab mix, receives medications daily. I would care for her very often while still living in Maryland. I live with my Lab best friend, Poppy. I have a 2-story house with plenty of room for your pup, plus a backyard (which I plan to fence in in the near future). I work from home 90% of the time, so your pup will be hanging out with Poppy and me all day, with the flexibility to take several breaks and walks throughout the day. If your dog is looking for a calm and quiet environment with constant company/supervision, I would love to have them! I only take one dog per day for daycare. I want to make your pup comfortable and relaxed while in my care, so please let me know his/ her likes and dislikes, and what an ideal day might look like for he/she. I currently offer day care, drop-ins, and walks. For daycare, I only take one dog per day. I do also require a meet and greet to make sure your pup will be a good fit. I do not host dogs with poor house manners, have behavioral issues in any form, or are not housebroken. My priorities are for your dog to have fun, be safe, and enjoy their time with Poppy and me! “Stacy saved my behind today and was able to watch my boy so I could get to a wedding! It was my first time leaving him for a long period, and wanted someone to watch after him to put my mind at ease. It was also my first time using Rover and found it super easy and quick! I thought she did a wonderful job, loved the updates, and that there were other dogs for my boy to play with! Thanks again!!”

“We had a great experience with Gwendoline! Our 6 month old pit mix was nervous around the other dogs at first so Gwendoline did slow intros to make her feel comfortable. She was running around with all the dogs and making friends within the first hour! We will definitely be bringing her back soon!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington
We had such a great experience! Our 10-week-old puppy was given wonderful care in a truly loving environment. She was gently exposed to other dogs and kids, which was so important for her early socialization. When she came home a bit overstimulated, they immediately adjusted her routine the very next day to better support her needs. It was clear they were attentive, flexible, and genuinely cared about her well-being. We felt completely comfortable and would absolutely recommend them.

In my opinion Elizabeth is one of the absolute best pet sitters I’ve ever had for my dog. She’s sweet with my dog, my dog loves seeing her, she knows her stuff, I honestly couldn’t recommend a better sitter in the area for dogs. When picking Elizabeth, you will not have any regrets!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 507 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Lexington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lexington commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 507 sitters in Lexington, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
