Alexis did amazing with our 2 cats, she managed to gain their trust incredibly fast, I was specially impressed with one of them that is extremely shy, she was able to connect with him and after a couple of days he even jumped up to her lap asking for pets, which he only does with us, that hasn’t even happened with our relatives that have stayed over at our place. She kept everything nice and clean, sent us great detailed updates and lots of photos, that made us feel not so far away from our fur babies. We’re so lucky we found her, definitely will use for future times. We can’t thank her enough!

About: Being around dogs has been the foundation of my life since the age of 3. From caring for my own pets, helping our neighbor who bred collies, and caring for dogs while also caring for my patients at work as a home health occupational therapist, I feel like every pet is part of my family. My heart is full around any four legged friend and I strive to care for them, show them the deepest love, and teach them as I do my own children. It’s in my blood! I currently work as a home health OT with a flexible schedule during the day. I also have windows of time during the evenings and weekends to care for any pet. Teaching my sons responsibility and skills required to care well for animals are just an added bonus! I own my home with a large yard in the rear of the home. I’m also able to provide in-home boarding as I do not currently have a pet in the home. I also am able to offer drop-in services to address any home needs (mail, plant care, shoveling or vacation mowing), dog-walking, and light housework. Additional services like dog-walking upon request- let’s make your time away painless without concern at home.

Kaleigh really stepped up when the previous sitter canceled without even so much as a message. She obviously has a history of working with dogs. She was informative and easy to contact. I would definitely recommend and will keep her at the top of my list next time I need a sitter.

About: I have extensive experience with a wide variety of dog breeds. I have been a veterinary technician for 9 years. I also foster for a local rescue and have pets of my own. Dogs all have unique temperaments and personalities which is what makes caring for them so much fun! I am currently employed, but looking for a change of pace. I will never accept a job for care that would conflict with my schedule. Your pets are the priority for me. Keeping your pet on a routine as close to the one you have for them is my ultimate goal. It can be stressful for them and for you to be apart. The more stability I can provide, the happier they will be.

About: I've grown up with dogs and cats in my household my entire life. I have trained puppies all the way to providing extra love and TLC to senior dogs and cats. I have 2 cats and one Pitbull mix at home :) My Pitbull mix is reactive who has improved by leaps and bounds due to my training--I am very familiar with reading a dog's body language and reacting accordingly. I work part time as a First Responder at the local EMS agency and am recently starting school to further my career. I have a very flexible schedule and I will bring patience, fun and lots of love to your furbabies! I worked as a Veterinary Assistant for one year at a local vet clinic--I am comfortable with medication administration and have experience with recognizing medical conditions in our fur babies as well. Medication and injections are free of charge! I will provide you with updates and pictures at each visit unless specified otherwise so just let know! :) My intent is make you, the pet parent., feel at ease with me coming into your home and caring for your pets. Whatever is instructed by the pet parents will be completed. Guaranteed routine feeding and watering to be done at every visit. Any mess made from your pet will be cleaned and taken care of during the time I am taking care of them. I am not responsible for any destructive behavior from the pet that causes destructive damage to the home or property. PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT offer continuous care as I do need to leave to care of my own family since my husband is an over the road truck driver. Thank you for understanding. My house-sitting rate includes me conducting 30-45 minute drop ins every 6-8 hours. If extra time is needed, just let me know and I will try to accommodate as best as I can; an additional fee or an increase fee may be applied. Thank you for understanding. I work casually at the local EMS agency so my schedule is flexible. I am going through the process of testing and applying for school to further my career in Healthcare as well. I am a homemaker a majority of the time due to my husband being an over the road truck driver. I will provide pictures with updates to give you peace of mind. I am very familiar with scared, reactive and high energy dogs. I will accommodate to whatever is needed to provide trust to you as well as your fur baby. ****Please have a collar and leash on hand if a harness is used regularly. Too many dogs slip out of their harness and this poses a liability and infringes on safety on myself and others. ****

About: I started training dogs at a very young age, and decided to make it into a career a few years ago. I specialize in fearful and reactive dogs, the overlooked and misunderstood. I have a part time job on the side . Even on the other days I am working elsewhere, I’m always working with dogs. We can always work around work schedules If your dog is up for it- I will include your dog in my daily life as if they’re part of the family. If they prefer a place to be calm by themselves, I have an area for that as well! I also do in home training, as well as meeting up at dog friendly locations depending on the need of the dog.

About: If you’re looking for someone who will genuinely care about your pets instead of just checking off a to-do list, you’ve found the right person. I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and understand that every pet has a different personality and routine. I currently have a large dog of my own, so I’m comfortable with big breeds, energetic pets, and those that need a little extra patience. Whether your pet wants to play, go for walks, get belly rubs, or just have someone nearby while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every pet like they’re my own because that’s exactly how I’d want someone to care for mine. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my schedule. My work schedule changes from week to week, but I do my best to accommodate each pet owner’s needs. Whether your pet needs a quick check-in, a walk, feeding, playtime, or overnight care in your home, I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that works for everyone. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. All services will be provided in your home, where your pet can stay in a familiar environment and stick to their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, medications, walks, training, or special needs. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, and I’ll treat your home and your animals with the same care and respect I would expect for my own.

About: I have taken care of animals and pets since I was young. Growing up, we had puppies, dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens. With my children we had guinea pigs, hamsters, and cats. I currently work full time but I have a full hour for lunch to stop by and care for your pets. I can do drop ins or stay at your house, whatever is needed to make sure your pet is safe and loved. I have two cats at my house. They are well loved and follow me everywhere. I make sure they have nutritious food and clean water always. I have helped with dogs, making sure they are safe when out walking. I make sure they are given the right amounts of food and always have water. As a pet lover, I want to give them companionship, love, and security while their "parents" are away.

Please note that weekend availability may vary based on personal commitments, and my weekday availability may change in the future as my work schedule evolves. About: Hi! I’m Jess 😊 I’ve always had a natural, intuitive connection with animals and tend to pick up on their moods and needs quickly—even when they’re shy, anxious, or not as expressive. Because of that, animals usually warm up to me fast and feel safe in my presence. I currently have three cats of my own, including one with special needs, so I understand how important it is to have someone patient, attentive, and truly tuned in caring for your pets. I don’t just follow instructions—I pay attention to how your pet is feeling, and adjust my care to make sure they’re comfortable, relaxed, and supported. For certain bookings, my fiancé Rob may assist me as a second set of hands. He’s great with animals and helps provide extra support, especially for multi-pet households or longer stays. I am always the primary caregiver, but having that extra support allows me to give even more attentive, consistent care. ⭐ What Makes Me Different ✨ Intuitive, Empathic Care I naturally tune into animals’ behavior, comfort levels, and energy. This helps me: -Recognize stress or anxiety early -Adjust my approach based on their personality -Build trust quickly, especially with shy or sensitive pets ✔️ Personalized Care Plan Before each booking, you’ll complete a quick form so I can fully understand your pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs. ✔️ Structured, Professional Experience I provide a welcome guide, clear expectations, and consistent communication so everything feels smooth and stress-free. I also provide a simple care form before bookings so I can fully understand your pet’s routine and preferences. ✔️ Consistent Updates You’ll receive regular updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. Each visit includes updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. ✔️ Extra Support When Needed For certain bookings, my fiancé Rob may assist as a second set of hands. He’s great with animals and helps provide extra support, especially for multi-pet households or longer stays. I am always the primary caregiver and will always communicate in advance if he will be present. 🐾 Experience I’ve cared for: -Cats (including multi-cat households) -Dogs of all sizes and personalities -Pets with medical needs, sensitivities, and unique routines Some of my experience includes: -A blind pug with dietary restrictions -Cats with litter box sensitivities and behavioral quirks -Anxious or slow-to-warm-up pets I take the time to understand who they are, not just what they need. 🏡 House Sitting When staying in your home, I focus on keeping your pet’s environment calm, familiar, and low-stress. This is especially important for pets who: -Experience separation anxiety -Are sensitive to change -Need consistency and emotional comfort Having Rob as occasional support also allows for more flexibility and coverage when needed. 🚪 Drop-In Visits Each visit isn’t just about completing tasks—it’s about checking in on your pet’s overall well-being. I pay attention to: -Behavior changes -Energy levels -Comfort and mood So nothing gets overlooked. 🐾 My Goal To create an environment where your pet feels safe, understood, and cared for—and where you feel completely at ease knowing they’re in good hands. I work full-time remotely, which gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the day. If Wi-Fi is available, I’m often able to stay with your pet while I work, so they’re not left alone for long periods. I’m able to take breaks for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins, and I do my best to stick closely to your pet’s normal routine. My schedule is consistent, and I’m always happy to communicate ahead of time to make sure it’s a great fit for your pet’s needs. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I pay close attention to behavior, energy levels, and needs, and I follow all instructions carefully—whether that’s feeding schedules, medications, or specific preferences. I’m very detail-oriented and make sure everything is done the way you want, so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and committed to keeping your pet’s environment calm, consistent, and secure. I’m also mindful of safety during walks and daily care. I provide regular updates and photos so you always feel confident and at ease while you’re away.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Latrobe. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
