“Rebeca did an amazing job house sitting and caring for our reactive dog, Ginger. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about Ginger's well-being. Caring for a reactive dog requires extra understanding and compassion, and Rebeca handled everything beautifully. She kept us updated throughout our trip with pictures and the sweetest stories about Ginger's day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, Ginger was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Our house was also in great shape. We are incredibly grateful for the love and attention Rebeca gave to Ginger and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible pet sitter. We will absolutely book with her again!”

“Sara did a great job watching our dog, cat, fish and house while we were gone for 11 days. They sent regular photos/updates, were very communicative, and the house was clean and cared for when we got home. Our spicy cat even warmed up to them eventually! It was a great comfort to know that our pup was getting his walks and was able to stick to his regular routine while we were away. We will defiantly use Sara again.”

About: I've taken care of animals since I've graduated high-school. I'm an animal lover and have taken care of the smallest animals to the biggest. I am willing to go the extra mile for your babies and give plenty of updates. I currently work part-time, allowing me to offer overnight stays as well as morning walks and morning and evening feedings. If your pet requires additional care during the day, I can also accommodate drop-in visits. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I do my best to keep their routine familiar, comfortable, and stress-free while you're away. I provide care in my clients' homes to help pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment. During the first few days, I make an effort to spend extra time with your pet to build trust, learn their routine, and help them feel secure while you're away. I follow all feeding, exercise, and medication instructions carefully and maintain a clean, safe environment. I prioritize your pet's well-being by providing companionship, regular potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention while respecting your home's rules and routines. For overnight stays, I ensure pets have consistency, comfort, and supervision throughout the evening and morning.
“Mike took good care of our two older dogs. They were happy and healthy apon our 5 day return and the house was great as we left it. He got packages from outside that werent supose to be delivered so that was great too. He showed up on time and stayed until our agreed upon touch down of flight very late the last night. Knowing he lives in the town we do also is nice. We will definitely get him to stay again if he's free next time we need a sitter. He even fixed our tv remote/sound bar connectivity issues. Thanks Mike! Dana”

About: As a lifelong dog lover, I’ve been caring for dogs since childhood, growing up with Labrador Retrievers and learning firsthand the importance of patience, consistency, and affection. Over the years, I’ve helped whelp litters, fostered rescue dogs (including one who became a beloved member of our family), and cared for dogs of all ages and temperaments. My home is peaceful and dog-friendly, shared with my sweet mixed-breed dog, Prema, and features a large, securely fenced yard for safe play and exploration. Daily walks, plenty of attention, and a calm, nurturing environment ensure that every dog in my care feels comfortable, loved, and right at home. I’m currently working from home, part-time, and teaching yoga at a nearby gym a couple of days a week, so your sweet pet would rarely be home on their own. My single-story home has a large, fenced yard where your dog can roam freely to play, take a sunbath, or chase butterflies. My 32 lb dog, Prema, will keep your dog company on daily walks and at home. The home has a doggie door, so your dog is free to roam in the house and outside. The doggie door is locked at night. Ideally, you would supply you dog’s favorite bed (although we have extras) a collar and leash, and preferred food with instructions on feeding timing, amount, etc. I want your pet to feel happy, safe, and have fun while here. 🦮
“Spencer was wonderful. Daily photos and words that gave us comfort that our Finn was doing well. I would hire him again and again. It’s been decades since we have needed a petsitter - and Spencer did everything to assure us he could handle the job.”

“Andrea is great! She’s watched my minipoodle while I worked late. She’s reliable, punctual and is a great communicator. My dog automatically felt comfortable with her and is always calm when I return home. I will be using her again!”

“Greta was GREAT! Throughout the whole process she has been prompt with communication and oh so pleasant. She clearly developed a caring and affectionate relationship with our dog and she was well cared for during our vacation. She also kept us appraised of their activities with plenty of photos, which clearly showed that Tilly was well cared for and having fun. She also took good care of our home and we returned to a clean and orderly house! Always a plus after vacation. I would recommend Greta without reservation.”

“Kathy is great! I felt completely comfortable leaving my precious babies in her care and really got to enjoy my trip away. Not only did Kathy take excellent care of the dogs, she helped my boy (Merle) manage through fireworks! I came home and braced myself during more fireworks following the holiday, only to find, Merle was not stressed over them at all. Not only that, he didn't bark as he usually does! What a surprise! I am so thankful!”

“Abby saved Arty’s life while she was sitting. He became very seriously ill the second day I was gone. I was on a boat in glacier bay Alaska and could not be reached for 2 days. I had not left a letter authorizing payment to his vets (my bad) and when she called, they refused. So she had the good sense to show up at their door with him in their arms after calling everyone who I listed as support and trying on her own to revive him. (He is diabetic). He had been in ICU for 2 days by the time I got all her messages. The waters parted and I was able to get home the same day. In the meantime, she visited him in ICU and gave him love and encouragement. It turned out that he had a ruptured gall bladder and they removed it along with cleaning out all the granular black debris from his abdominal cavity. He has almost recovered completely now, only one week later. I know he would not be alive if it wasn’t for Abby. Grateful is an understatement! Abby is all that a pet owner could want to look after their beloved fur baby.”
About: With 2 years of volunteer experience at the SPCA and a lifetime of caring for my own two dogs, I have developed a deep understanding of canine behavior, care, and companionship. I’ve walked and cared for dogs of all sizes, from 10-pound pups to 175-pound gentle giants, so I’m comfortable handling dogs with different energy levels and temperaments. I treat every pet like my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well-cared for while you're away! I have a pretty open schedule during the summer, so I'm available most days for walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, and spending time with pets. Since I do not have major commitments during the summer, I can provide consistent care and adjust my schedule to meet each pet's specific needs. Since I can’t host pets, I’m happy to care for dogs in their own home, where they feel safe and comfortable. I always prioritize safety and trust, making sure pets are well-supervised, have fresh water, and get plenty of exercise and attention. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I treat every dog with love and patience as if they were my own. I also respect each owner’s instructions to ensure their pet’s routine stays consistent and stress-free!

“Lillian took care of our three pups in our home for a week and she was truly wonderful! She was so sweet with our three dogs and they clearly loved her. She sent daily update texts with pictures and she kept the gardens watered and the house was neat as a pin when we got home. We were able to really relax and enjoy our vacation knowing she was taking such good care of them. If you’re looking for a reliable, mature, responsible, kind person to housesit and take care of your pets, you couldn’t find anyone better than Lillian!”

“From the moment our dogs met Megan they loved her. Extremely friendly and trustworthy. One of our dogs required medication which Megan had no problem administrating. We will definitely use her again.”

About: Hi am currently a local college student looking for some extra cash by doing what I love which is taking care of our amazing fur babies otherwise know as dogs. I have a beautiful border collie myself and I also have experience walking all types of small and large dogs for the Santa Cruz SPCA. I also have some experience taking care of bunnies if you have one. NOTE: my profile says that I have no pets only because I DO NOT do pet boarding in my own home. I only do day pet sitting and dog walking. I am currently available for dog walking/sitting Monday through Wednesday anytime and Thursdays and Fridays after 3 pm. I am also available Saturday after 5 pm and Sunday all day. If you are also looking for someone to help around the house along with taking care of your pet I currently work as a house keeper/ dog sitter outside of rover. If you have an untrained dog do not be embarrassed I am still more than happy to help, I have experience training my own dog through the Monterey Bay Training Club, so I am more than happy to teach your pooch a couple of tricks while we hang out.
“Mamoo was very attentive to our pet and house needs during the two week pet and house sitting. Constant updates and will respond to messages quickly. I would have no concerns having him watch our house/pets again. We do have a large husky and outgoing cat each with their particular needs.”

“Tracey did a wonderful job taking care of all my animals. My trip was last minute and I feel very lucky to have found such a great sitter. My dog Lily appears to have had a wonderful time in my absence! I would recommend her highly.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Las Lomas on Rover is $21.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Las Lomas walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Las Lomas maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Las Lomas choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
