We give Melissa our HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! She was a pet sitter for us for 6 days/5 nights! We just moved to the area and needed to find a responsible person to take care of our dog while we were out of town. Melissa was super responsive, highly professional and extremely trustworthy. Our pet has a significant medical condition and Melissa kept us updated and was extremely comfortable handling any special needs. She left our home in better condition that we left it. She went above and beyond to take care of our dog and we so appreciated it! We have used many pet sitters in the past, but Melissa was a step above all others!

About: I’ve cared for dogs for several years, including my own dogs and pets for other families. I’ve done everything from quick drop-in visits and walks to staying with pets for several days while their owners are away. I’m comfortable with different routines and can also give oral medication when needed. I make sure pets get plenty of attention and that their normal routine stays as consistent as possible. My work schedule varies from week to week, so my availability depends on the dates requested. I only accept bookings that work well with my schedule and your pet’s needs. Before booking, I’m happy to discuss your pet’s normal routine, how long they are comfortable being left alone, and any specific care they need so we can make sure I’m a good fit. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable while their owner is away. I carefully follow instructions for feeding, walks, medication, and anything else your pet may need. I respect your home, keep things clean, and make your pet’s safety a priority. I also send pictures and updates so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is happy and being well cared for.

About: I graduated with a degree in animal science from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls in 2023. I've been dog/ cat sitting for years, I grew up with 2 family labs and I have trained 3 service dogs through a non-profit company down in Madison. Whether I'm hanging out with a high-energy pup or a senior dog who just wants a comfy spot and some company, I always adjust my care to match their needs. I am big on routine, clear communication and creating a calm, positive environment while you're away. Lastly and most importantly, I treat every dog like they're my own: with patience, respect, and plenty of love. I’m available for pet care during mornings and afternoons, with consistent availability throughout the week. While I don’t accommodate last-minute bookings, I’m happy to schedule in advance to ensure your pet gets the attention they need. Whether it’s a morning walk, a midday check-in, or afternoon playtime, I’ll work with you to create a routine that keeps your pet happy and comfortable. I specialize in caring for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure while you are gone. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I make sure your pet’s routine stays consistent and stress-free. I’m respectful of your space, keep things clean, and always provide regular updates so you can relax knowing your pet (and your home) are in good hands. My goal is to make your time away as smooth as possible—for both you and your furry family member

Eleanor went above and beyond! She house sat for us and watched our 2 dogs and 1 cat. She sent plenty of pictures of all the snuggles and play times they were getting. She included confirmation that their daily routines were done and left our house just as clean if not cleaner than when we left. Her communication was amazing and eased our worries about leaving our fur babies. We highly recommend her!

Tina did an amazing job! Our dogs loved hanging out with her! It was the first time we had anyone stay overnight with them and she completely put our minds at ease . She’s reliable, trustworthy, very knowledgeable, and loves your animals like her own. She’s prompt (even started early), sent lots of photos, great communication, and she did excellent with our anxious gal. We’ll definitely be in touch, for future visits!

Alex is amazing!!!! I have a 17 year old dog, who is mostly blind, and gets very nervous when left alone. It was my wedding weekend, and Alex agreed to spend time with my dog for the rehearsal night and also for the whole day and into the evening on my wedding day. Prior to her stay, we did a meet and greet and Alex was so kind, patient, and caring. I felt a huge weight lift, knowing I had found such a good sitter! I felt much more relaxed about leaving my dog with her, and that really helped me to stay present during my wedding day.

About: I have 2 dogs and love talking them on walks during the week. I’ve also volunteered at the humane society helping to care for the animals. I work part time at Kwik Trip during the week from 9 am until 12 pm so I’m available to walk dogs anytime after 12 pm during the week. I don’t work on the weekend but anytime after 12 pm works best for me to walk dogs on the weekend. I have 2 dogs and they love other dogs. There’s a dog park in Green Bay that I visit and a trail in Green Bay that I love walking my dogs on.

About: I’m the type of person who goes to a party and makes friends with the dog. My friends know I’m around when they see a blanket covering up their sleeping pup. My family has nicknamed me dog girl because I take on the challenge of caring for all of them during family functions. I have experience with dogs who need medication, eye drops, ear drops, or who have health issues. I work from home so I am able to hangout with your pet all day! I have a very flexible work schedule if appointments are needed. I prefer to care for dogs in my home but can watch in your home, let out during the day, and check on your home if away. At my home I leash all pets when letting them out. Dogs are allowed on my furniture, I even have a chair next to my work desk incase they want to lounge around on the job.

Sasha was great with communication and photos of our pups while we were away. She left the house very clean and even grabbed the mail and a few packages for us. Our dogs were very happy to see us when we got home, and it’s obvious they were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Sasha as a pet/house sitter.

Holly was wonderful! Very responsive to my questions, kept good track of my dogs eating and potty habits and sent lots of pictures! Very respectful of our home, even complimenting me on a couple of our things. I know that some people are hesitant to let a stranger into their home, but Holly was perfect. She asked about their routines, and followed them to a T, making our time away much easier on the dogs. 10/10 would book again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lark

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 324 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lark. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lark walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lark maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lark choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lark. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
