“Amanda was GREAT! She kept up very informed on our dogs and even made them lick bowls to keep them entertained. She left our house in better condition than we left it for her which is always a plus. She will be our new sitter going forward. Highly recommend her, this was a great experience for our first time ever using Rover! Thanks Amanda!”

About: Getting to love on your "best friend" and keep them company or give them potty breaks would be a great privilege! I have had dogs all my life. My last one had to be assisted to walk for quite some time and required lots of pills. For the last 5 years, I have been house sitting for my two sons who each have two dogs. I would prefer to meet and greet so that you can decide if I would be a good fit. Although I have never done this for profit, I do believe I can make you happy. My neighbors can provide a reference if need be. I am currently unemployed and am available any time. I would like to be free to keep doctor's appointments. However, if that is not agreeable to you, I try to reschedule any appointments. I will make sure your fur babies have several potty breaks during the day and right before bed if I am staying in your home. I love to pet and play with them - according to their desires. Of course I can provide lots of pictures with my cell phone if you like.
“Yvette did a great job. We have an aggressive dog so our situation isn’t the easiest for most sitters but she kept everyone safe and our home clean. We would highly recommend her.”
“Kelley is an absolute fantastic dog and house sitter!! I now only book vacations around Kelley’s availability to care for our two dogs and stay at our house. We get several Dog photos a day and as any dog owner knows, you can simply SEE in your pet’s face and eyes that they are absolutely happy!!! Our dogs are high energy and they are very well cared for, they get a great amount of exercise, they lie around completely calm because they are comfortable with Kelley, they are fed exactly as you’d prefer, and they’ll sleep in your preferred locations. Kelley also monitors their health and will share pictures and ask questions, and she’ll administer medicine if needed. Kelley’s Rover profile is 100% accurate (not to mention, our house is spotless when we return), she loves animals in general, and loves dogs. Any of your animals will be loved and very well taken care of with the absolute best care when booking Kelley!!!”

About: Hello, Y'all! I'm a self-employed mother of two grown boys who are at College and Middle School. I'm a Certified Vet Technician with credentials from UTA and references from two great Veterinarians in the Metroplex. I absolutely adore animals I have tendencies of rescuing strays and finding homes for them. We always welcome wagging tails and small or big paws into our home. I have experience in caring for geriatric dogs, injured or sick dogs. With anything from administering medications to bandaging and plenty of love to give. Although my main source of income is Real Estate my passion has always been in animals. I understand the frustration with boarding and leaving a pet at home. I would love to help and care for your fur babies while you are away. I’ll arrange my schedule to the appointments and clients that book me. I’m available for early morning walks to late evening drop ins, I work in Rover into my schedule. Let me know what your pet requires and I’m very flexible and understanding to help in any way. If you need specific accommodations please let me know.
“Angela was super nice! She did an amazing job taking care of our dog and house!! She sent pictures of him that made me and my wife know that he was being taken care of. Thank you!!”

“Lauren was amazing!! I have two high-energy dogs who absolutely love to play, and Lauren did such a great job keeping them happy and entertained. She played with them plenty, sent lots of updates and pictures, and was so great with communication throughout her stay. I really appreciated how attentive and caring she was with both of them. I would definitely recommend Lauren! she’s the best!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats as a professional groomer for the past 5 years. I am a mom to a tripod Shiba Inu mix and a deaf Shih Tzu mix! I work for a school district 7-4 Monday-Friday. This has freed up my schedule on weekday evenings and weekends are typically free with a bit of notice! I have a soft spot for seniors, I am especially gentle with the sugar faced pets. I understand each pet is a unique situation and will have flexibility to meet their needs!
“Anna did an amazing job with Mabel. She was communicative, sent photos, and treated our home with respect. I didn’t have to worry and I will be hiring her again soon!!! Highly recommended!”

About: As a lifelong dog and cat owner with four years of dedicated pet-sitting experience, I provide attentive, personalized care tailored to your pet's unique routine and personality. Over the years, I have successfully managed a wide range of real-world scenarios, from maintaining strict potty-training and crate schedules for energetic puppies to providing gentle, patient care for senior dogs who require frequent bathroom breaks and strict, time-sensitive medication administration. I love high-energy breeds that need structured exercise, but I am equally skilled with cats, sharing my home with a few of my own and confidently handling all types of feline behavior. Whether your cat is a clever escape artist requiring strict doorway vigilance, or a sassier kitty who tends to bite and scratch, I know how to read their body language, respect their boundaries, and keep them safe and comfortable. When your pets are with me, you can rest easy knowing they are receiving the highest level of reliable, vigilant, and loving care. I work part-time as a barista, which gives me incredible flexibility throughout the day to dedicate to your pets. Because my schedule is adaptable, I can easily adjust my sleeping and waking hours to match whatever routine your animal needs. You won't have to worry about disrupted routines or missed doses. Whether I am caring for pets in my own home or yours, my primary goal is to provide a loving, calm, and predictable environment where they can truly thrive. I focus on creating a balanced routine that offers plenty of dedicated, high-energy playtime to burn off steam, paired with lots of peaceful downtime for them to rest and relax. I mirror their usual home environment as closely as possible to minimize anxiety, ensuring they feel completely safe, loved, and right at home.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs learning the best way to set a routine to help improve their quality of life day in and day out. Friends and family go to me first for any training help or balanced food needs. I have 3 dogs currently and they are my best friends! Always listening and being attentive to all their needs as a #dogmom I work from home Monday-Friday with breaks in between that I use to take my dogs outside, feed and sometimes train. On weekends, I am free/flexible Separate feeding bowls and water bowls to ensure all are fed correctly. A harness is a must when walking/exercising your dog to keep them in control at all times.
“Olivia house sat for us. The dogs loved her and were very well looked after. She was a great communicator and made me feel comfortable leaving them home. She did everything we asked and even managed our dogs meds. So thankful!”

About: I have 15+ years of experience with dogs of every shape and size. Between caring for my own dogs, my family’s, and friend’s, I’ve come to be very familiar with their routines, needs, and behavior. My experience with applied behavior analysis lends tremendously to successful training techniques. I take pride in maintaining clean environments, administering meds, and being undeterred by big dogs. My experience as a nanny gives me a unique understanding of working in your most private space. Special instructions are always followed with care and love. I am currently starting my new job as a water safety instructor! My availability may change while I am in training, but I am still open for drop-ins and walks. Unfortunately, due to the needs of my own rescue cat, I am not available to provide overnight boarding services in my residence at this time.

About: Hey, my name is Javan (rhymes with Gavin). I am currently in school for wildlife and conservation science to pursue animal welfare as a career. Since my courses are online, my schedule is generally wide open. I've taken care of animals all my life--from dogs to cats, salamanders to crabs, parakeets to parrots, and bunnies to hamsters. I have yet to meet an animal I didn't love and, more importantly, one that didn't like me! My experience involves caring for rescued pets, so I understand the importance of patience and boundaries. I have also cared for newborn, adult, and senior cats and dogs. I'm well-rehearsed in accommodating dietary restrictions and administering medication. There is no pet too big or too small, and none too needy! I pay close attention to each pet's needs and have a strong passion to make sure those needs are met. I suppose the only downside to hiring me is your pet may not want me to leave. I work part-time and do Rover part-time, so my schedule is usually open for petsitting or walking. I also attend school part-time online and will have plenty of time to engage in play with your pets! I make it a priority to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, and any other special instructions. I also understand that every pet has a different personality and comfort level, so I take the time to earn their trust and give them as much space as they need.
About: I have a dog of my own, an Australian shepherd named Lady. I have taken care of a few dogs before and I quite enjoy it. I love and enjoy walking dogs. I also enjoy cats as well. I have had a cat for about 16 years. she was my very first pet ever to have. She has been with me since I was a baby. Sadly she passed in August of 2021. I can do the weekends from anytime. I can stop by after 6 o’clock to check up on your furry friends. But normally the weekends is when I’m free. I make sure that the dog or dogs are fed and taken care of course. I follow the owner's details and rules. I am very patient and outgoing and also a very active person.
About: I've had animals my entire life, and I currently have four dogs and two cats of my own, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I treat every animal as if they were part of my own family and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, and care. I also volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary, where I learned the importance of patience, responsibility, and paying close attention to an animal's needs and behavior. Whether your pet loves playing, going for walks, or simply relaxing and cuddling, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. You can count on me to provide dependable care, regular updates, and lots of affection for your furry family members. I work PRN at a hospital, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to plan my availability carefully around bookings. I only accept requests that I know I can fully commit to so that every pet receives the attention and care they deserve. I also have animals of my own, but I'm not the only person caring for them, so their needs won't interfere with my ability to care for your pets. My goal is to maintain your pet's normal routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. When caring for pets in my client's home, I treat both the pet and the home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I follow the owner's instructions closely, keep pets on their normal routine, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they are away. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I take the time to learn their habits, boundaries, and preferences. I prioritize safety by keeping doors and gates secure, following feeding and medication instructions carefully, and providing regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lakeside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lakeside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lakeside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
