“Susan took wonderful care of Roscoe. She was great with communication and kept me updated throughout the stay. We felt our fur baby was in good hands the whole time and I would recommend her to anyone else looking for pet care in the area.”

“Kelsey and her family made my pups feel at home the weekend they spent with them. They had never boarded before so I was nervous. She was very reassuring and communicative when I would text to inquire how they were. The dogs were safe and loved there. We would recommend Kelsey and her family as great place for your pet to stay.”

“Christina was a wonderful dog sitter whose home was warm, welcoming, and safe for our old girl. Frequent updates and messages helped us feel even more comfortable that she was well cared for. When we dropped her off and picked her up, there was no stress or discomfort for her (or us). Would definitely recommend her and will hire her again.”

About: As a lifelong animal lover and longtime pet parent, I know firsthand that pets aren't just animals...they're family! I bring years of personal experience caring for dogs through all stages of life, from their playful, energetic years to the slower, more tender senior years. Our beloved family dog, Lily, was part of our lives for over 15 years, and caring for her taught me so much about patience, companionship, recognizing changing needs, and providing comfort as pets age. I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs and understand the importance of adapting care to their individual needs. I'm a responsible, dependable, and attentive caregiver who believes every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, belly rubs, or simply having someone nearby to keep them company, I'm happy to meet them where they are! As a mom of three and a longtime pet owner, I'm no stranger to juggling schedules, maintaining routines, and giving lots of love and attention along the way. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member, and I'll treat your pets with the same kindness, patience, and respect I'd want for my own. My goal is simple: happy pets and peace of mind for their people! I have a flexible professional schedule that allows me to incorporate pet care into my daily and weekly routines. As a university professor and mom of three, I'm organized, dependable, and accustomed to balancing multiple responsibilities. I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, so walks, playtime, and check-ins are a welcome addition to my day! I value clear communication and will always be upfront about my availability to ensure your pet receives the attention and care they deserve. I know how much trust it takes to leave your beloved pet (and potentially your home!) in someone else's care. As a longtime pet parent myself, I take that responsibility seriously. My priority is making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining the routines they're accustomed to. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking preferences, medication instructions (when applicable), and any special requests you provide. I also understand that every pet has a unique personality, comfort level, and set of needs. Some want endless belly rubs and attention, while others prefer a little space and quiet companionship. I'm happy to accommodate both! When caring for pets in your home, I will respect your space, follow your instructions, and provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your furry family member is in good hands. Above all, I approach pet care with patience, kindness, attentiveness, and plenty of love. My goal is for you to return to a happy, well-cared-for pet and a home just as you left it! 🐾

About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was very young. I grew up as an animal lover and love all animals. I currently work for MonkeyShine Pet Resort, which is a dog boarding, grooming, and daycare facility. I have a lot of experience with fury friends. Friends and family have relied on me over the years to ensure their pets were let out, walked, and groomed. I’m currently working at Monkeyshine Boarding and Daycare for dogs. I will be attending online college but it does not interfere with my daily schedule. My work schedule is never consistent but I am always guaranteed a long break in between my shifts (2-3 hours). Then the entire night I have off. I live in an apartment complex with no fenced in yard but go to my parents very often whom have 20 acres of open field to run around in. I have an Australian Shepherd named moose, he can be shy but is not aggressive towards other animals
The median cost per night for dog boarding in Lake is $36

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Lake can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lake home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lake.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
