“Michelle did well with staying a few nights. House was in good shape as when we left. Our dog seems to have been taken well care of and happy. I received pictures daily, which I enjoyed!”

“This girl is OUTSTANDING. She went above and beyond her short time here and really save our family last minute. We will N E V E R be using another sitter! I wish i could give her 100 stars!”

“Hi Rebecca, and thanks for the pic collages, I knew the kids were smitten with you immediately:). They are quite a pair for sure and you obviously spoiled them! You certainly made it easy and possible for us to concentrate on our family matters and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks again, Rebecca, for doing such a great job!”

“Caleb did a great job with our 3 dogs we had one that needed meds twice a day and he did great. I would recommend him to sit your fur babies he stayed at our home and left it clean.”

“Stacey did an amazing job! From the moment we met her, we could see how much she genuinely loves animals, and we knew our fur babies would be in great hands. She communicated with us throughout the weekend, keeping us updated on how everything was going and sending lots of wonderful pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. Without a doubt, Stacey is the best sitter we've had. We wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to watch their pets!”

About: I grew up taking care of my families many pets. Growing up my family had dogs, cats, fish and a variety of other pets. I love all animals and enjoy working with them. Currently I have open availability but that is subject to change. I'm not currently working and am looking to fill my free time with something fun! I'm very well versed in caring for animals no matter the size and animal safety is always my number one priority. Having the ability to understand animals and their behavior is very important to keeping them happy and safe.

“Chris really gave me so much peace of mind knowing that he was at our house with our three rambunctious pups- all were pretty tuckered when I got home, and our home was left clean and tidy! Thank you so much Chris! I’m hoping that our pups get to meet in the future!!!”

“Adrian was so amazing with our two pups! Our sweet babies can get very anxious but he kept them so calm and happy while we were away. He sends THE BEST pictures of your babies to update you. We will definitely be booking with him again.”

I'm a stay at home mom, so I'm able to provide quality attention. Dogs are let outside every hour (shorter times when weather is hot). I live in a friendly neighborhood to go on nice walks. I have a decent sized yard with an 8 foot tall fence. Thank you for your time and hope to meet soon! *other animal care too* I take care of animals all day every day. My schedule is mostly open, other than kids' activities. Summer schedule is different than when school is in session. I have a large yard with secure fencing. Also can crate your furry friend at night if necessary. I want to treat them like you do in your own home.
About: I’ve grown up on a farm & helped raise dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, cows, ducks, & hamsters! I have a fenced yard for your fur baby to play in. I also have a male (neutered) dog who just turned two. He’s very friendly and trained! I have a large crate if your pet needs to be crated for any reason, otherwise they are welcome to snuggle on my couch or bed with me!!

About: I have a wide array of experience with caring for dogs and cats—from the corgi puppy who barks through the night to the one eyed 18 year old deaf and blind Shih Tzu who just needed love and my current 9 year old rescue who loves cuddles and walks. I have experience administering medication, working with tricky meal routines, cleaning and sanitizing after potty accidents, and giving lots of love and pets. I am a teacher at a local high school and am free all day every day during the summer and before 8:00 am and after 4:30 pm on weekdays during the school year as well as full availability on the weekends. My pets are an integral part of my family and I start and end the day with a dog walk. I have a fenced backyard. There IS a pool, but I also have a 10x10 cage back there for potty breaks if you have a water loving dog that you don’t want in the pool. I have my own four legged crew: Ebby the funny fat cat and Teddy the sweet rescue dog. We do have stairs in our home but if you have an older dog that struggles with arthritis, I can stay downstairs with them while they are in my home.

“Amy was fantastic with our pups. When we got home we could tell they were well cared for and the house was clean too! She stayed with them the whole time and kept them on their regular routine. This set our mind at ease since our last three sitters we chose were barely with our pups and had them in their crates for 12-14 hours at a time every day we were gone. Amy is a Godsend and we hope she is available anytime we need to leave town moving forward!”

“Connor did a phenomenal job house-sitting Ahli for 10 days! He took such great care of her and spent so much time playing with her. I absolutely loved all the photo updates he sent—it was so clear from the pictures that they got along perfectly and Ahli was having the best time. Thank you, Connor, for taking such great care of our girl!”

Cameron goes WAY above and beyond!!! One cat had a medical emergency, and he was right on it - and it turned out to be non life threatening. But I was in the hospital, and it was SO comforting knowing the care Cameron was giving my fur babies!!!! I can’t say enough about how appreciative I am of his services, and I will always request Cameron first for any future bookings!!!!

Madelyn came to our home to care for our new puppy while we were out of town. We've never had an in-home sitter and can't say enough positive comments about Madelyn and this experience! She was exceptionally communicative throughout the weekend with numerous updates and pictures. Madelyn clearly has a love of animals that shows in her care and interactions. We highly recommend Madelyn to help you care for your pets when you're away! She will definitely be the first one we contact if we are in need of an in-home pet sitter again!

I had an amazing experience with Jocelyn watching my pup! She stayed overnight for three nights and did a fantastic job. You can really tell she cares about the animals she’s sitting. I received regular updates and tons of pictures, which put my mind at ease. Definitely will be rebooking her whenever I need a pet sitter again! Thanks, Jocelyn!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Knollwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Knollwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Knollwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Knollwood. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 85% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
