“Rebecca has taken care of our two pups multiple times, now, and she is a great sitter. She is always a good communicator and provides great quality of care. Trust is important in these types of situations and we have that with Rebecca.”

“Another great stay with Ms Olivia! Bear was happy to arrive and get straight to business (playing). Olivia was great and sent me pictures of how things were going keeping me at ease. Bear seems to have worked through his anxiety issues and Olivia has been a huge part of that!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with dogs, cats, and hamsters, and for the past 22 years I’ve always had a dog of my own—they’re truly part of the family. Right now, we have a sweet 2-year-old Italian Greyhound, so I understand the energy, patience, and consistency that come with caring for a young dog. I also have experience caring for other types of pets, including our bearded dragon, so I’m comfortable with different personalities and needs. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I don’t take that lightly. I’ll care for your pet the same way I care for my own—with lots of love, attention, and respect for their routine so they feel safe and happy while you’re away. I’m a stay-at-home mom to three children, all over the age of 8, so our home is calm and doesn’t have little ones running around. My daughters are homeschooled, which gives us a very flexible schedule and allows us to be home often throughout the day. While we do have activities, we’re able to plan our schedule around the pets in our care and can be home every 2–4 hours as needed. This flexibility means your pet will get plenty of attention, supervision, and consistency while staying with us. Our home environment is relaxed, dependable, and centered around making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I do not have a fenced yard but I do take frequent walks with my dog through the neighborhood so walks will not be a problem.
About: From the moment I welcomed Dusty into my life, I’ve understood that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. My experience goes beyond feeding and walking; it’s about creating a safe, joyful environment where pets feel loved and understood. • Hands-on family experience: Caring for Dusty has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and unconditional love. I know how to handle the silly, playful moments as well as the tender, comforting ones. • Celebration of milestones: I believe pets deserve to be part of life’s biggest moments. Dusty has been included in family celebrations, travel adventures, and even our wedding—proof that I’ll treat your pet with the same devotion. • Creative care: Whether it’s making up fun games, capturing adorable photos, or writing playful captions for Dusty’s “Instagram-worthy” moments, I bring creativity and joy to pet care. • Trustworthy and attentive: I understand how much peace of mind matters when leaving your pet with someone new. I’m committed to keeping routines consistent, noticing the little details , and giving regular updates so you feel connected. My schedule allows me to prioritize pet care, whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or last-minute check-ins. Because I’m already caring for Dusty, I’m accustomed to planning my days around feeding, exercise, and playtime. Adding another furry friend feels seamless. I manage my professional responsibilities while keeping time open for meaningful connections—like giving pets the attention they deserve. I know how important routines are for pets, so I make sure my schedule aligns with theirs, not the other way around. Safety first: I follow routines carefully and keep pets secure during walks, play, and rest. Trustworthy care: Clear communication and regular updates give families peace of mind. Loving environment: Pets feel at home with me — nurtured, comfortable, and part of the family.

About: We adopted our first pups in 2004 and cared for them for 18 pup-snuggled years. During that time, and since then, we have rescued, fostered and adopted animals of all kinds to include chickens, ducks and a pig named Kevin Bacon! Currently, we're home to Guinevere, the mild-mannered, 6 year-old rescued mutt. We do have an 11-year-old hooman "puppy" who is just as loving and respectful of animals as we are. We will love and care for your fur-babies as if they were our very own. We are home almost all day, every day, so your pet will never be alone. I homeschool our son, and my husband works from home. Your pet will have ample opportunities to play outside in our 1/2 acre back yard. Our neighborhood is very quiet with houses situated on ~acre lots. We have neighbors with dogs, but they usually just run over to the fence to say hello and then go about their business. In our home, your fur-babies can roam freely, and they will have access to our 1/2, partially shaded, completely fenced-in back yard as often as they need. If your dog is one who prefers walks, our peaceful neighborhood has lots of places to explore; there is a nice park 1/2 mile away where they can sniff around where all of the turtles and ducks like to hang out. Pups who stay with us overnight are welcome to stay in their crate (if that's what they prefer), anywhere in the house, and, likely, on one of our beds.
About: I've had dogs and cats all my life and now that I'm retired I want to share cuddles and love with your pet! My friends and neighbors have entrusted their pets to me for years and I would like the privilege of taking care of your furry baby. I love both seniors and puppies and have had experience with administering medication if your pet has medical needs. A I'm retired so I'll be home almost all the time. A short shopping or doctor's visit would be the only exception. Your pet would not be unattended for more than 2 or 3 hours. I have a fenced area in my yard that is accessible directly from my home. The pets are never left outside unattended and they have full access to my home.
“Debra did an excellent job watching my little girl Nina. She’s very good with animals and clearly loves them. Nina was very happy staying with Debra. Nina is a bit shy at first but opened up very quickly to Debra.”

About: I have owned dogs my whole life up until about 8 years ago, and have been pet sitting for my family and friend since then. I’m a stay at home mom of 4 with a fairly flexible schedule. Hoping to make a little cash on the side to help out. We have a fully fenced in yard and plenty of space inside and outside for your fur baby to run and play with my babies.
“Dusty had an amazing time with his new friends! Tamara was amazing! Lots of pictures, videos, very communicative and friendly. Dusty will definitely get back to see her friends Maverick & Ollie again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 304 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Kenansville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Kenansville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 304 sitters in Kenansville, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
