“We had an unfortunate last minute out of town trip we needed to take and Carla was wonderful. She came to pick our Tucker up from home and took him to her house for a few days. On our way home we had some car problems but we kept in contact and she was graciously willing to keep him another night if it need be. I would highly recommend Carla, she’s great with our fur baby, always has a smile on her face but most of all- Tucker likes her and that says everything!”

“Chris is very reliable, flexible and trusted. He is amazing with dogs. I wish my dog Abby could write this because her actions speak volumes! Chris is dedicated, kind and a true animal person.”
About: I don't remember life without dogs. They've been my companions and best friends since I was a kid. I love them so much that I can bark well enough to fool you into thinking I'm one of them! Over the years, I've been around all kinds of dogs, from Great Danes to mutts and Golden Retrievers. I've also rescued dogs from difficult situations. I've learned that every dog has its own personality. Some want to play all day, some want to cuddle, and others just want to do their own thing. If your dog is big, I'm strong enough to take them on a walk. If they're cuddly, I'll cuddle the crap out of them. If they need space or time to warm up, that's fine, too. I'm comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I don't get nervous or jumpy around them. I'm sure your dog will bring lots of joy to my home. I have a spacious house where dogs can relax wherever they feel comfortable, along with a fenced backyard where they can run and play. I'll make sure your dog gets the attention, care, and space they need to feel at home. When I'm out, it's never for more than four hours. If your dog stays with me, they would be alone for four hours at most. The rest of the time we'll be around to give them attention and affection. My house is spacious, so your dog can find a comfortable spot to hang out wherever they like. I also have a fenced-in backyard where they can run around and play. I'm happy to take them on walks or to a nearby park, too. Every dog is different, so just let me know the specifics: their routine, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous, and anything else I should know. I want them to feel at home here, not like they're stuck somewhere unfamiliar while you're away.
“Elizabeth and Phillip took great care of Hannah, and kept us informed and up to date with messages and pictures. Would certainly engage their services again!”

“This was the second time I left my do with Robin. When she opened her front door, Bobo was so happy to see her. And when I left, Bobo was already settled in & didn't follow me to the door when I left.😂. That's when I knew he was happy to be there.”

“Renee and Gary did a great job. Goofus was not anxious on drop off at all. Renee and Gary welcomed her and made her feel at ease. I could tell by the frequent pictures that were sent. Goofus was enjoying herself Thanks for the great care and the treat you sent home. Goofus”

I'm hoping to get more availability on here soon. I will treat your pet like they are my own family. With me, you can trust that your pet will be safe, Safety and Fun are always my top priorities.
“Crystal was an amazing pet sitter!!!! Crystal’s home was very clean, she was professional and a very sweet family. The whole time she kept us updated with pics and videos. Communication is key and she understood that giving my anxiety about my fur baby being away from me for the first time. Very much treated my Ozzy like her own. Ozzy and her dog Tank were like cousins lol. I will definitely keep booking with Crystal! If I could give her 10 stars I would!!!! 🤩❤️”

“This is my first time having Stephanie taking care of my dog while I'm out of town for 3 weeks and I'm very glad I did it. Before I commit anything Stephanie is very considering and patient to set up a meet & greet to ensure it will work out. Stephanie also sent me updates and pictures so I can see my dog is doing great without issues. I would definitely recommend Stephanie to my friends or anyone looking for dog boarding.”

“Li was fantastic! I actually think our puppers was sad to come home after being so spoiled by Li and her family. We got regular updates, photos and videos of how he was doing that put us at ease. We are so thankful our pup had a home while we were away that cared for him as much as we do.”

“Penny seem to settle right in with Elaine and Cal and the regular picture updates we received! Even when I arrived to pick her up, she barely wanted to stop playing and exploring!”

“Ebony was so great! She was responsive, kind and flexible! She took great care of our dog and he got so much great socialization and exercise. We really appreciated her especially the last minute changes!”

“They did a wonderful job!! They really put my mind at ease. I was so grateful that they reassured me when I was worried about the flight delay. They also firmly reassured me and eased my anxiety about my senior dog, allowing me to have a wonderful vacation. And I loved their very clean environment where my dog was staying. I am grateful to have met such wonderful people after moving to this new place, and I feel like going on vacation in the future will be a source of joy rather than worry from now on. I highly recommend Rachel & Frank.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Keeneland
This was the first time using Rover. Carla was wonderful! She sent me some updates and picture while we were on our trip. Vivian tends to not react as much when we are away, this didn’t happen at all… which cracked me up and loved because I knew she felt at home! 😂😊🫶

We had such a great experience with Chris! Samson was well taken care of, and I’m convinced Chris has some kind of magic touch! Our boy normally barks at cars nonstop, but on the ride home, not ONE bark! Whatever Chris did, we need his secrets! 😂 10/10 would recommend and would happily book with him again!

It was my 14 month old Vizslas first time staying with a sitter (or anywhere but home) so I was a little nervous about leaving him for a week. Meg was super responsive and kept me updated on how he was doing with pictures and I felt so at ease knowing he was in great hands. I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone and will definitely be boarding with her again in the future! She made him feel at home and he had such a great time!

Courtney took wonderful care of our sweet geriatric blind Miss Minnie while we were on vacation for over two weeks. Courtney needed to be out of town for a family obligation over one weekend, and she coordinated with the sitter I had arranged and she packed all the necessary items, delivering them and Minnie and then picking up as well when she got back. The rest of the time, Courtney stayed in our home allowing Minnie to be in her familiar territory. Minnie has an enlarged heart and pulmonary edema, requiring several medications to be mixed with food twice a day and she also gets two different eye drops each once a day. Courtney was not fazed by any of this! Courtney works from home which was also a big plus so that she was at our home most of the time with Minnie. She followed my directions and even gave Minnie two baths while we were gone, which we did not expect. Our home was in great shape when we returned and Courtney had brought in packages that arrived while we were gone. I cannot recommend Courtney highly enough should you have need for house sitting, dog walking, or boarding!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Keeneland home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Keeneland.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Keeneland sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
