“Jasmine did a spectacular job taking care of our kitties! She was sweet and very communicative! I felt at peace on our trip knowing they were in such good hands. Thank you so much!!”

“Anna is my go-to for animal care drop ins. She is so great at forming a bond with my cat. Athena loves her!! Always so communicative and it shows that she has a passion for animals.”

“I feel so much better being at work knowing that my senior dog is getting visited by April in the middle of the day. She takes good care of him and caters to all his weird neuroses that come with being a 16 year old pup. Thank you, April!”
“Alexander seemed to do a good job with my cat Carlos, sending me photo's etc. However apparently Carlos wasn't fond of Alex and seemed aggressive according to Alex. I am sorry about that. Alex gave me peace of mind that my cat was Oaky.”

About: I have taken care of many animals and volunteer at shelters. I’m in school to be a vet as well. I’d love to meet yours! My schedule is flexible to adjust. So I work a basic 9-5 and am free every weekend. I work from home on Fridays as well. My pets are my furry children. I treat my pets like family. Lots of love and snuggles. Time outside is important as well as walks.
About: New to Rover but not new to caring for animals. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s routine. I’m a dependable, structured sitter who understands that pets do best when they feel safe, calm, and cared for—just like at home. As a busy mom managing a full household, I naturally bring consistency, patience, and attention to detail into everything I do—including pet care. I’m especially great with dogs who: • prefer routine • have a little anxiety • need calm, steady energy You can expect: ✔ timely communication ✔ daily photo + message updates ✔ a clean, safe, low-stress environment ✔ someone who treats your pet like family—but with structure I know how important it is to trust the person watching your pet, and I take that seriously. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease while you’re away. I’m currently working remotely so I’ll have plenty of companionship for your pet. I walk often myself so I’d be happy to exercise with your pet as well. I have a large yard that is unfenced. I’m open to coming to your home as well. I also have two daughters that are dog lovers that can’t wait to play with and love on your pets!
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who’s been around dogs for as long as I can remember. Caring for them has always been a natural part of my life, and I’d love the opportunity to help care for yours! Whether your pup needs a fun walk, a caring pet sitter while you’re away, or someone to spend quality time playing and keeping them company, I’m here to help. I understand that every dog has their own personality, energy level, and routine, and I’ll make sure they receive the love, attention, and care they deserve. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member. I’ll treat your dog like one of my own by providing plenty of exercise, affection, playtime, and updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine because caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I plan my schedule to make sure every pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they need. Whether it’s morning or evening walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping a pet company, I’m committed to being reliable and consistent. Since I have pets of my own, I understand how important routines are, and I’ll do my best to maintain your pet’s normal schedule so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own. In a client’s home, I make it a priority to follow their pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, litter box cleaning, and any special care instructions. I know that keeping pets in their familiar routine helps them feel safe, comfortable, and less stressed while their family is away. When spending time with pets, I make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and enrichment based on their individual personality and energy level. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pet is happy and well cared for. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and positive experience for every pet while giving owners peace of mind.
About: I've taken care of cats for years and I love taking care of dogs as well. My most recent pet is my bunny named Boo! I am a part time online student and work mostly on weekends. My schedule is pretty flexible depending on the level of care your pet needs. I cant currently care for pets in my home, so I would come to your house to visit your pet! We would workout what kind of schedule he/she needs.

I will attach a few photos of the interactions between my son and pets :) Pets love boarding at my house !! My house includes a LARGE partially fenced in yard (currently being redone) along with a giant cleaned spacious garage, and a big basement all used for playtimes! My house is open for free roaming . About: I understand your pet is important to you. I will treat your pet as my own, offering engagement, play time, enrichment activities and a peace of mind. I train my own dog for obedience competitions, and I know he is happy when his tail wags. I have learned how to read a dogs behavior and go out of my way to ensure they are living their best life. Each dog that books a service will receive a complimentary gift bag of treats! Someone is home all day. I work near my home, I have flexibility allowing me to come home when needed. Your pup will have a plenty of toys and puzzles to stay busy. I have a kennel area for potty (so it's not all over the yard). Dogs are let out on a long line (33ft) as we wait for our fence to be put up. We are very intentional about how we care for dogs and we have found, dogs don't mind the long line since they still get to run their tails off! There are young children who are excited about dogs who love meeting new dogs. The children in my home are familiar with my standards of pet care, and know what it means to respect a dog. I have 3 German Shepherd Dogs who are dog neutral. My youngest dog is being trained for competitive obedience, one who recently retired and one who retired 2 years ago and works as a therapy dog as well as demonstration dog. He helps many dogs overcome their obstacles to becoming the well mannered pet many families crave. He is a gentle giant, I've learned much from him. He is always happy to see another dog, and understands respectful greetings, he is mild mannered and loves to play when released to do so. I am a runner, so if you are interested in a daily run for your pet during their stay, please notify me of this. My life is built around caring for pets. This was done intentionally and I am grateful for the opportunity to have your dog in my care. I can easily crate your dogs if needed. They are care for as my own. Each dog will be sent home with a treat bag made from single ingredient treats that we make.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
