“This was Daryl’s second overnight stay with Taya, and once again he had the time of his life playing with Taya’s dogs. Taya sent lots of updates and pictures and videos so we could be sure he was doing well.”

“Katlynn did an amazing job taking care of our puppy. She sent pictures of our fur baby daily, cleaned the bedding and bathed our dog before we picked her up. She went above and beyond! Definitely using her again when we need someone to watch our dog!”

“Susan took the best care of my babies while we were away! She sent pictures everyday to let me know how they were doing. It's so nice to be away and trust that they are in great hands! We will book with here again 😊”

“Melissa took such good care of my Ziggy while I was away for work. She was kind, flexible (with my travel schedule/delays), and communicative during his stay. I could tell Ziggy really enjoyed himself. Thanks Melissa!”

“Kaila was an awesome dog sitter! She gave frequent updates which made me feel better about leaving my pup. She has dogs herself which was perfect for my dog to socialize and play with. I look forward to booking with her again!”

“Alice is phenomenal. This is our 2nd time having her watch our VERY active 13 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. She has a great sized secure yard for the dogs to run and she is so gentle and patient with our crazy girl. It is difficult to find a sitter that can handle the true high energy breeds with such patience and understanding. Alice gives great updates and photos. Avery always comes home happy, healthy and loved.”

“Sarah and her family were phenomenal dog sitters! Scout and Mackey were playing joyfully when I arrived to pick them up, came home happy and healthy, and squeaky clean and fresh with their additional grooming services they received. we will definitely have them stay again! Thank you everyone, especially the boys, who were awesome dog friends!!”

“Lauren watched our dog over a holiday and made our vacation so much easier and more enjoyable! The updates and photos were so appreciated. I don’t think our sweet Ivy wants to leave her! We have never tried Rover because it was hard to find an affordable and trustworthy person - Lauren is it!!”

“Jordan’s communication was top notch!!! Jordan was very attentive to my concerns and was flexible with our pick up/drop off schedule. Most importantly, I felt like Willard was in good hands for the short time we were away. Jordan sent texts and pictures of Willard and kept us updated throughout the stay. Jordan is great!! Highly recommended sitter!”

“This was our first time using Rover and we are so happy we found Suraya, she was amazing! She kept our golden, Charlie for 7 days and provided updates and pictures the entire time. He was just as happy when we picked him up as he was when we dropped him off. We will definitely be using Suraya again for our future dog sitting needs and highly recommend her to anyone looking for care ☺️”

“Molly was so awesome to work with. Quick response, very laid back and accommodating! Made sure to slowly introduce them to the her dog and did a great job making sure everyone was safe. She even let them stay an extra night no problem!!! Will 100% book with her again.”

“We needed someone to watch our dog while we were on vacation and since our dog does not do well around other animals, boarding him at a traditional kennel was not a good option. I found Karen on Rover and she was a perfect match! We were able to board our dog at her home, where there are no other animals, and he was able to receive 1:1 attention while we were away. Karen took great care of him and sent updates/pictures daily. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Love having Brooke and her hubby watch my babies. Tux and Ollie are always excited to go over. Brooke is great about sending pictures and keeping me updated while she is caring for our pups. She is quick to respond and very flexible.”
“Such a sweet couple. Adriana was a dream to work with she sent me frequent pictures and updates every day. Made me feel like my baby was loved and taken care of. We will be booking with her again!”

About: Hi, I have plenty of experience with my three grand-dogs. I am so good with them, my son suggested I sign up for Rover. The first dog is a border collie / flat coat retriever mix. She has spent overnights, and days with me at my home. I visit her daly for a walk and fun. The other two are golden retrievers. They come most of the time as a pair, Again I have had them for overnights, day time sitting and walks. I also spend time feeding my neighbor's two dogs, mainly getting them to sit for a treat. I am currently retired. My schedule is very fluid and flexible. I spend a lot of time on house/yard projects and spending time with my two son's families. I try to get goingearly and get outside. I do not have a fenced yard, sorry. With all of the dogs in my neighborhood, I keep my canine visators leashed, If your pet is with me I will make sure we get outside for some exploring the smells in my neighborhood.
About: I have lived with dogs my entire life, all shapes and sizes. I currently own a Husky, his name is Rollo, and a Chihuahua named Yoda. Both of them are age 6 and have been solely in my care since. I understand that every dog has their own personality, especially breeds like huskies. I’m comfortable handling their energy, attitude, and unique needs while making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’m dependable, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I'm currently working part-time but am also in between jobs so my schedule could change. However, I am currently available Sunday-Saturday from 11am-6pm. I live in a safe quiet environment that offers lots of nearby maintained county trails for dogs to walk in, including enclosed dog parks. My two dogs get along with others extremely well to provide company if wanted.
“McKenna cared for Charlie as if he were her own. He had a wonderful time playing with Togo and Grizzly, and she kept us updated several times a day. The huge backyard gave Charlie plenty of space to play, and he slept like a baby when we brought him home. We would be happy to use her services again!”

“Julijana did an amazing job taking care of our dog Pepper while we were on vacation! She is such a caring person and was very sensitive to our dog’s needs. We came home to a happy, well-exercised dog, and received wonderful pictures from all of her walks and outings with Julijana. We will definitely happily be using Julijana again!”

“We cannot recommend Pete and his family highly enough. We asked them to take care of our almost 15 year old Lab for over two weeks while we were out of the country. They sent regular updates, so we felt like we knew what was going on, and they were patient and understanding of the stress she experienced as she settled in. When we came to pick her up, she went to follow Pete back into the house, clearly showing how well-cared for she was. We would happily rebook with them again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kalamo home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kalamo.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kalamo sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
