“Megan watched our Charlotte and kept us up-to date with her activities. She cared for Charlotte as if she was her own! This was definitely an upgrade to leaving her at a kennel. Megan is super kind and thoughtful. Our Charlotte loved her vacation so we could, stress free, enjoy ours.”

“We could not be happier than we are with the service, communication, care and love Sophie received from both Susan and Bob. We had a last minute emergency and they accommodated us so quickly and made us feel so comfortable leaving our baby. You can tell immediately how much they both absolutely adore all the pups. They treat them as their own and are very flexible to accommodate your pet’s specific wants and needs. When we picked Sophie up, Susan even had a water container for the car ready for us knowing it was a long drive. We will be back! Thank you!!!”
“Janice kept Sam for me for a long weekend. She sent me photos of Sam during her stay so I could see how she was doing. Janice has an 11 year old black lab mix who’s a great dog too. He did very well dealing with Sam’s puppy energy from what I saw. Overall, Sam was very well cared for and happy. I couldn’t ask for more. Will hopefully be able to book with Janice again the next time I need to board Sam.”
“Stephanie was awesome with our dogs! It was a last minute booking and she was accommodating with their different needs and energy levels. Stephanie sent pictures and was very communicative - I would definitely use her again!”

“Paige was great. She was available on short notice and was accommodating to a weird drop-off time due to bad weather. She was attentive to my animals needs and it was obvious my pup had a great time with her. She sent tons of pictures and videos and gave comprehensive daily updates. I would absolutely recommend this sitter and will be using her again in the future.”

“We had a great first experience with Mary Sue, who we found through the Rover app. From start to finish, Mary Sue provided excellent care for our pup Roxie. She sent frequent updates and pictures, which put our minds at ease while we were away. It was clear that she treated Roxie like her own, and Roxie came home tired and happy. We are so grateful for Mary Sue's care and highly recommend her to anyone in need of a responsible and loving dog sitter.”

“Brenda and her family are great sitters. Beauty always loves her stay at their house. She loves the yard. And, she loves all the personal care. I would never hesitate to have Beauty stay with Brenda and her family.”

“Michelle has a lovely home and fenced in space for taking good care of your pets. She is caring, trustworthy and welcoming. We’ve had our dog stay with her before this recent visit, and we’ll definitely use her again!”

“My 2 girls were so happy with Sandee, i could not have asked for better care of my two spoilt pups! I am very grateful to Sandee for taking my girls for the afternoon, which freed us up to do the necessary things related to purchasing a home. I won't hesitate to go back to Sandee and trust her with my precious fur babies. Thank you Sandee!!!!”

“Michele who was recommended by a neighbor, was absolutely amazing and I had no worries at all leaving my two pups in her care. Her home was filled with toys, doggie beds and plenty of room to roam and play. I could enjoy my daughters beautiful wedding and not worry about them, which was priceless. I will definitely being using Michele's services again! Highly recommend!”

“I am not sure if I should feel good or bad about the fact that when I picked up my dog he was more interested in following Jenna back inside her house instead of wanting to hop into the car with me. Obviously, he had a very enjoyable time with her.”

“Kelly was wonderful and sent pictures throughout the day. We so appreciate her diligence in helping us with our dogs. One of our dogs requires daily medicine and an ointment. Kelly didn’t seem to have an issue with it and took wonderful care.”

“Sylvia kept our nervous dog for three days and she was so patient and caring with her. We got updates during the visit with photos. She made sure she felt at home and knew all of her needs. Then we returned for another three days the following week and our dog was so excited to see her and relaxed right in with no anxiety. Sylvia is really wonderful and a fabulous dog sitter. I would highly recommend her.”

“Carlie was a pleasure to work with and was super communicative with me for our Goldens care...She was also flexible and understanding when an unexpected sickness arose (which was not related to her care in any way) Would recommend her and will use her again for sure!”

Kelly was absolutely amazing with Oscar! She made sure he was happy, comfortable, and loved the entire time we were away. She sent us lots of pictures and updates every day, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Oscar was getting plenty of love and attention. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely recommend Kelly!

Eric is the dog whisperer! Snoopy felt comfortable right away and made himself at home. There were thunderstorms during our trip and Snoopy dreads these but Eric made sure to give him extra comfort and care and send us photos. It was so nice to see our pup calm and happy when we picked him up. Much appreciate how Eric understands dogs intuitively!

Susan and Robert took excellent care of Toby, and he had a perfect stay. Toby is high-strung and sometimes has eating issues when stressed; Susan followed our instructions to the letter, adjusted his food, and encouraged him to eat. Her extra patience and attention made all the difference, and he ate throughout his stay. Communication throughout was excellent, with updates and pictures. We highly recommend Robert and Susan!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Jimtown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Jimtown.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Jimtown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
