Pet care experience

We treat your dogs like family!

As pet owners for over 65 years, both my wife Susan and I are the perfect "fill in parents" for your wonderful fuzzy family member. Susan was raised on a ranch in Wyoming and her life was full of horses, cows, sheep, pigs, you name it, every farm animal there was. We have had dogs our entire lives and fell in love with Rhodesian Ridgebacks over 40 years ago and have had several smaller breed dogs as well. We almost always have had 2 dogs but right now we have a wonderful Toy Poodle born in 2026, having lost our Silky Terrier named Tailgate Party (and he was) in 2017, and our Abby, a 13 1/2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback (who was a mellow & loving senior lady that loved other dogs and animals) in May of '18. We have had dogs from 3 pounds to 173 pounds in our lives for over 60 years and love being with animals. Our policies are: Day care: maximum 8 hours- $35.00. Over 8 hours- $45.00 Overnight care: 24 hours- $50.00. If your request exceeds the 24 hour limit by more than 5 hours, please add an additional day care fee of $35.00. Our arrival and pick up window is 8 am - 7 pm, but first timers and dogs who haven't visited in the last 6 months are asked to arrive BEFORE 6 PM. We usually do not answer overnight and daycare requests after 7 pm. We are often sleeping by 9 pm But we are early risers- We can communicate anytime after 7 am. Looking forward to caring for your dog. We have a large home with a fenced yard in a quiet tree filled subdivision, (it's the perfect place for fun filled adventures while dog parents take a break). The dogs we watch will never be left unattended and when walking around the subdivision, will be on a leash, always being supervised and well protected. Your pet will be loved, cuddled and spoiled by two dog loving people. Their time with us will be spent as part of our family, not kept in crates but part of our household, from walks to tons of loving. We try to have a meet and greet with each of our potential new vacationing guests. This is very important to not only us as sitters and you as pet owners, but to your four legged family member. They need to know they have been here before and met us and other guests. It makes them more comfortable when their vacation starts and also lets you know they have been here before and will be happy and less stressed when you leave for them and head out on your vacation. If you are not available for a meet and greet, call and discuss it with us for a possible exception. If your dog has it's own bed or special treats, please feel free to bring them with you as well as their regular food, and any medications they may need. Please do NOT bring any toys with your dog. We have community toys for all of our guests and have found they share much better when they are not attached to a specific toy. You also do not need to bring any food or water bowls, we have lots on hand for our guests. Also please write the pets name on any items you bring such as their harness, collar or leash. Our home is a very social environment for your loving pet. We do not take all of the reservation requests we receive as each dog we share our home with needs to be a good fit with the other guests we have at the time of their vacation. It is very important to us as well as you as pet owners to know your dog is safe and surrounded with other fun loving dogs. Unfortunately due to reputations or past experiences with certain breeds we do not watch the following breeds or dogs that are aggressive towards other dogs. Those would be: Pit Bull or Pit Bull Mixes Staffordshire Terriers Bullies Rottweilers German Shepard's Dobermans We know how hard it is to be away from your 4 legged family members, so we will send you pictures throughout their stay so that you know what they are up to and how much they miss you.

Susan and Robert took excellent care of Toby, and he had a perfect stay. Toby is high-strung and sometimes has eating issues when stressed; Susan followed our instructions to the letter, adjusted his food, and encouraged him to eat. Her extra patience and attention made all the difference, and he ate throughout his stay. Communication throughout was excellent, with updates and pictures. We highly recommend Robert and Susan!

Excellent per sitters, we couldn't ask for a better experience! Bob and Susan have so much experience and knowledge in caring for dogs and they had the best communication the entire time we were away. Our maltipoo pup had the best time with Tug and the other dogs. Will definitely.book with them again the next time we are in the area!

Safety, trust & environment

We are at home with our guests 24/7 and we recently added a fenced yard where dogs are constantly supervised, as dogs out in a fenced yard alone have far too much opportunity to meet a skunk or other unwanted visitor. "The reason we never had a fenced yard before). After all, you are trusting us, not a fence, to make sure your loved pet is happy and secure. All dogs are walked by leash several times a day, and also have the opportunity play indoors. We screen all dogs we meet and only accept breeds and individuals who get along well with others. When your pet stays with us, it's a cross between home and summer camp.

Pets

A typical day

Our guests enjoy long and short walks, play time with other guests, and unlimited fanny scratches and tummy rubs as well as naps in the AC in summer, or curled up on a dog bed in front of the fireplace in the winter.
