I am looking for opportunities to house/pet sit October-January in Healdsburg, Windsor, and Santa Rosa. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!”

About: I've taken care of animals ever since I can remember, and I am grateful to have been raised around cats and dogs. It has shaped who I am as a person. I have rescued many dogs and cats (or maybe they chose me), and I have experience with training, administering medication, young pets, old pets - all of it. What sets me apart from other sitters is that I am likely the most detail-oriented person I know, and this applies to caring for my pets, as well as yours. Not only do I love my pets, but I love yours too - I love all animals. As a pet parent myself, I trust myself to do this job more than I trust anyone. I can do whatever you need me to do to reassure you that your animals are in the best of hands. I just graduated from grad school and have a LOT of free time! This is great for me, because I love animals and am excited to spend my time with them! I understand the level of trust required when leaving your pets with someone. I have cared for dogs and cats (and a few other animals!) ever since I was a child. I genuinely LOVE animals. Currently, I have two rescue Shar-Pei (the wrinkly-faced dogs), and they are the loves of my life. My approach to caring for my dogs is exactly how I would care for your animals. While your fur children are in my care, they are treated with love and respect, and care instructions will be honored to the T (no matter how long or extensive). I think the instructions I leave for our sitter are ~3 pages long, so I won't judge! I have experience with young animals and the elderly, and have administered medications for both dogs and cats. I would describe myself as a very vigilant pet parent, meaning I take pride in my awareness. For example, when walking my dogs, I always put safety first, watch for cars and other animals, and stay aware of my surroundings. I pay attention. I'm the kind of person who often checks the perimeter of my fenced yard, has multiple dog cameras, makes sure there are no ways out, and double-checks the gate locks. I know it might sound like I'm a helicopter parent, and that might just be a fact. Shar Peis are a stubborn (and amazing) breed of dog, but they notoriously require this level of attention, so I am going to credit my sweet dogs for training me to be the ultimate caretaker. Fun fact: I've had Shar Pei for the past 20 years! I'm here to meet your animals where they are when we are together - if they want to hang out, cuddle, play, and be goofy, great! But if they just want to chill on their own, I will respect their space.

It can be a handful getting them rounded up, taking them for 3 or 4 walks a day, putting them to bed a night. Kyle was a master and showed them the love and attention that they are accustomed to. We tried to provide him 5 star accommodations and he in turn was an immaculate house guest showing great care and respect for our home.”

About: To start off, I grew up with dogs and cats— and am very good at reading body language. I have been cat and dog sitting since the age of twelve, and as of 1 year ago have over 200 hours of volunteering at Sonoma County Animal Services. There I walk, feed, play with, and clean dogs and cats of all kind. So I am very qualified and would love a chance to take care of your furry friends! I have flexible hours as my classes are coming to an end, I can discuss times that will work for me but overall am open to working out a set schedule! I have two dogs and one cat, they are taken care of very well.
