Emily took the absolute best care of our 2 dogs! She truly made our vacation worry free, sent great updates and pictures. Honestly the first time we’ve left our babies and didn’t feel the need to check on them constantly because she was so proactive. So happy we found her!

Curtis was great with my two cats and dog (Odie)! He was very polite and gave Odie all of the pets and belly rubs requested during the initial meet-and-greet. During the actual stay, he sent photos and videos of the cats being obsessed with him (no surprise!) and Odie loving his walks with him. He also left the house clean! 10 out of 10

Sydnee was a fantastic sitter for my pup when I went on a much needed vacation. I always choose her to watch Finn when needed. She is great with him and he loves her just as much. She always checked in with me when I was away and is so kind and respectful.

Madeline stayed with my babies over night which I much appreciated it. She sent pictures daily of them. The 1st day with them she didn;t leave which made them feel secure. Felt like they were loved and taken care of since have 2 puppy mill moms and 3 cats which think Zoey maybe slept with her since the room she slept in Zoey has now claimed for her room.

Jennifer did a phenomenal job with our quite nervous, shy Corgi. Our dog became comfortable with her on the first visit and she followed all instructions explicitly. I would definitely recommend her and will use her services again. She seems to really enjoy caring for animals and is very conscientious.

Janel did an excellent job caring for my fur family. My dog is usually very anxious, but she made him feel comfortable and at ease. She even bonded with my very nervous cat, which was impressive. All of my other cats were well cared for as well. I highly recommend her for pet sitting!

Anabelle was amazing. When Biscuit met her during the meet and greet, he absolutely adored her. During her stay she kept me updated on biscuit with texts and photos. She even did some grooming for him. She took him on walks and even got him to run. I haven’t been able to get him to run in quite some time. Biscuit also does not eat and has severe separation anxiety when I’m gone. He ate and didn’t seem to have any issues while I was away for the week. I will definitely be using her again.

About: I grew up on a farm, so I took care of cats, dogs, and various other farm type animals like horses and cows quite frequently. I also have a cat and two dogs back home that I take care of whenever I go back home. I’m currently waiting to hear back from multiple full time jobs, however this can take a while so at the moment I am usually free 24/7 for any pets who need taken care of! If I was to take a dog to my home, I have plenty of space for them to roam around inside as well as plenty of places outdoors to walk, or even go to the dog park if they enjoy going there. My apartment is perfect for a cat as well because there are plenty of windows for sunbathing and comfortable places to take naps, and for more active cats there is plenty of indoor space to play.

We had a cat that was having some health issues and Katarinna had experience with how to handle the situation and put us at ease. We will definitely be working with her again!

About: I don't see this as just pet sitting - I see it as caring for a beloved member of your family! After saying goodbye to my own dog after many wonderful years together, I realized how much I missed having a dog in my life. While I’m not quite ready for another of my own, I have plenty of love, time, and attention to give yours. Because I’m retired, I have a flexible schedule and can provide lots of companionship, walks, playtime and affection. I prefer caring for one family’s hypoallergenic dog at a time in my own home. Hi! I’m Linda, and I’d love to care for your dog like they’re part of my family. Dogs have been one of the greatest joys of my life. After recently saying goodbye to my beloved dog after many wonderful years together, I realized just how much I miss the daily companionship, wagging tails, walks, and unconditional love they bring. While I’m not quite ready to welcome another dog of my own, I’d love the opportunity to love on yours. Spending time with dogs truly feeds my soul, and it would be my privilege to provide your pup with a safe, happy, and loving home while you’re away. I’m retired from my corporate career, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to your dog. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playing fetch, exploring outside, or curling up for a nap, I’ll happily tailor their stay to their personality and routine. I know how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else because I’ve been in your shoes. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your best friend is being cared for with the same love, patience, and kindness I gave my own dogs. A little about me: • Lifetime dog owner and lifelong dog lover • Active lifestyle—I love walking every day • Non-smoking home • Calm, peaceful environment • I prefer providing personalized, one-on-one care so your dog gets my full attention • Happy to follow your dog’s normal feeding, exercise, medication, and sleep routines I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, playful, or loves to cuddle, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home until you’re reunited. Because every dog deserves to be treated like family. ❤️🐾 When your dog is with me, they’ll receive: • Lots of love, attention, and companionship • Daily walks and playtime • A calm, safe, and comfortable home • Consistent routines based on your instructions • Plenty of cuddles (if they enjoy them!) • Daily photo and video updates so you can see how much fun they’re having I know how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else because I’ve been in your shoes. Lauren was SO wonderful!!! I rarely need a dog sitter because I usually have family members in town, so I’m always a little nervous to have a sitter but I didn’t feel nervous or stressed for one second! My dog clearly loved her (I think she secretly likes Lauren better than me???). Lauren sent the perfect amount of pictures that made me know Jelly was safe and cared for and having the time of her life. Thank you Lauren you rule!!

Caitlin watched my dog for a full week during a level 3 snow emergency and still made sure he got safe exercise, stayed warm, and was well looked after. She provided regular updates, great communication, and total peace of mind. I would absolutely book with her again. 🐾❄️

FAQs for House Sitting - Jerome

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Jerome on Rover is $57.72 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,467 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jerome. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jerome walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jerome maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jerome choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jerome. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
