“Hailey was amazing! She shared pictures while watching Sam, took him on walks, and really followed our requests. We felt very comfortable with Hailey in our home and taking care of Samwise while we were out of town.”

“This was my first time ever using a dog sitter that wasn't in my family, so we were a little nervous. Heather went above and beyond for us the whole week we were gone. She stayed at our house and watched our Mini goldendoodle. We received daily updates with pictures, she took him on walks, and obviously took very good care of him. The house was left very clean. With no sign that anyone was even there. Every vacation we take from now on will just be planned around her availability :)”

“Hannah is fantastic with our dogs. She stayed with them for two nights. They were happy to have a new playmate and snack dealer. I highly recommend Hannah and will use her services in the future.”

“Brianna was great! She was very kind to my old sweet dogs. She was flexible and came a bit earlier than I initially stated and she left everything very tidy. We will definitely ask her to come help with our dogs again”

“Allison took great care of my cat Trixie! I appreciate the time and attention she gave to my girl while I was out of the country. She also did an amazing job taking care of my home and left it cleaner than I did for her! Getting back from an international trip being greeting by my clean home and happy cat felt incredible. I would absolutely recommend Allison”

“Thanks so much for taking great care of my baby, and going above and beyond and even arriving early. It’s always super vulnerable leaving our fur babies, and it makes all the difference having someone you can count on!”

“Ashton was so great, really easy to communicate with and provided pictures along the way. She was very patient with my dogs who take a little bit to warm up to new people and handled all the feeding and walking wonderfully. Highly recommend! We are moving out of state but would otherwise continue to use her help 👍”

“Took care of my crazy baby well! Super appreciate and helped soothe my worries as it had been a while since I have let someone outside of family watch Riza.”

“This is the first time we have used Adam. He helped us over night and was so good with our dog Bailey. He was very attentive to all her needs. He sent many pictures which meant alot because we knew she was in good hands. We will definitely book him the next time we need him.”

“She was great took care of our 2dogs and house was clean. She sent us pictures of our dogs thru out her 3 day stay. The dogs were happy.I like to say thank you and will use her again.I would highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets for 6+ years! I have 3+ years of veterinary background at Texas A&M University and additional vet pharmacy experience from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. I have experience administering medications including pilling and house-sitting! I am currently on remote rotation for my Pharm.D. program, so I am very flexible in my hours throughout the week! I am willing to stop by or stay to house-sit as well. I am in an apartment that doesn't allow pets, but I am willing to pet sit in your home, house-sit, or wherever you need it. I can also come in and let out the pets for potty breaks, or administer medications.

“Zoe did a wonderful job pet sitting for my 2 little pups. She did everything I asked her even though feeding my senior pup was complicated. Both dogs were happy & healthy when I got home and the house was clean too! She was good with them, they enjoyed her calm and gentle attention. She also sent frequent updates and pictures too. I would recommend Zoe for any dog care needs.”

About: I’ve cared and was raised around animals since I can remember. Growing up with pets and caring for animals for family, friends, and neighbors has given me experience with dogs, cats, fish, birds bunnies, and hedgehogs. I am comfortable with small, medium, or large dogs as I have had experience with all. Years back I had took it upon myself to start my own pet sitting business in my hometown. Families trusted me to care of their pets while they were away, whether that meant feeding, walking, playing, cleaning up after them, giving medication, or simply providing companionship and attention. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, including energetic puppies and senior cats who require daily medication and extra care. Also, I have experience administering medication. I know how important it is to trust someone with their furry family members, that is my top priority. I have always had a passion to take care of animals and would like to use my experience again. I have a medium size dog of my own that I adore and take pride in training him and making sure he is always doing his best. I am someone who loves spending time outdoors and staying active, whether that means going on long walks, short strolls, or hikes. I also enjoy relaxing indoors, playing with pets, and providing plenty of cuddles and quality time. I have a very flexible schedule. I am available throughout the week, including weekdays (Monday-Friday) and weekends (Saturday-Sunday), and can provide a variety of pet care needs. I am here to assist you and your family. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, I strive for your pet’s safety and comfort, that is my top priority. I will work to keep pets on their normal routines to help them feel secure and stress free while you’re away. I carefully follow all feeding, walking, medication, and any care instructions provided by the owner. I treat every home with respect and ensure pets are always supervised, safe, and well cared for. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or a quiet routine, I am committed to treating them with the same love and attention I would give my own pets. I also provided regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and in good hands.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ivins
Heather has a gift when it comes to taking care of animals (and plants). We have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 aquariums, and a whole bunch of house plants, its a lot, we know. One of our dogs has some special care needs that could mean the difference between life and death for her. Heather came by and met them, listened carefully to our care concerns. After a one night stay to test the water we felt comfortable leaving our dogs, cats, and fish in her care for a week-long out of country (and in and out of cell phone service area) trip. She was quick and direct about care concerns she had during the trip, but also took initiative and stayed calm when we couldnt answer her right away. When we arrived home both of our dogs were in great spirits and health. Our oldest and most sensitive cat was happy to see us (shes usually really mad at us when we return), our fish were doing well and our houseplants looked amazing! You simply couldn't ask for a better caretaker for your fur babies.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ivins walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ivins maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ivins choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
