“Cory was wonderful with Briar, took her on long walks, belly rubs and ball playing and a few treats. All the things she loves. I especially thankful that Cory was flexible with my drop off and pick up times. While I was away each day, I felt comfortable that Briar was having a good day.”

About: We have been pet sitting for friends and colleagues for 2 years so thought why not join Rover and do more! Our clients love my family and we love their pets so it makes perfect sense. I have 4 kids, a small dog and two cats and my small pets just hide if a visiting pet is too much for them otherwise they don't get bothered or bother anyone else, human or pet! I work from home and I have 4 kids who love cats and dogs and love to help out with the dogs that we already provide services for. We are trusted with hideaway keys to homes to let dogs out and we run them in fenced in yards to burn energy. Then we make sure they have food and water and kennel them if applicable before we leave. In our house, visiting pets are watched over by all members of the family. Sometimes we buy them their own special toy to play with. We make sure they eat and get any meds they might need.
About: Growing up on a family farm, I have had the opportunity to care for many different kinds of animals (dogs, horses, cats, chickens, goats, pigs and cows). I have taken care of family and friends dogs for the last 20 years. I have raised 5 puppies and have shown a few of them in local shows. My kids are 13 and 10 and love taking our dogs for walks, hikes and playing with them in our very large back yard. I am home all summer and my school year schedule varies so I have plenty of time to take your pup on walks and play with them. I have a large fenced back yard and 2 pups friendly pups. I have the ability to take your dog to either a paved or dirt trail for walks or runs. My dogs walk 4 to 5 miles a day but I can definitely make the walk shorter if needed. I have the ability to separate the dogs if needed. I can also crate the dogs. Our dogs love to lounge on our couches.
About: Dogs have always been in my life. I volunteered at Animal Lifeline for 8 years and had a dog daycare of my own for a while. Dogs are everything and I’d be honored to love on yours. I currently work full time from home so doggie day care is definitely doable! My day ends at 3 pm so I can be that late afternoon or evening potty break or walk. Weekends have potential as well with pre-arranged time and notice. Should your dog(s) stay with me during the day, I have a fenced yard and no carpet in case of oopsies! If you request that I come to your house I am very reliable, responsible and respectful. I can guarantee a boat load of scritches and belly rubs as well as time for “business”.
“My dog had a great first daycare experience with Mackenzie and Anthony. He’s had issues with anxiety with sitters in the past, and did very well with them and their 2 dogs. I highly recommend.”

About: I believe that animals were put on this earth to show us how to love! The least we can do is return the favor ❤️ I work from home so I have all the time to show your pet love away from home! When I'm not working I have most evenings and weekends available to check in when they are at home! I have a Fenced in yard and two dogs to keep your pup company! I also have an XXL crate needed if that helps comfort them, so that they have their own space when needed!
“Kelsey was wonderful with our girl Bonnie! Bonnie is a little anxious at first and has a bit of a loud mouth 😂but Kelsey was patient and had her relaxed and playing/napping in no time. We will absolutely trust her with Bonnie again.”

“Alexandra is great with Winnie and very communicative. She understood concerns I had and ensures Winnie gets a good mix of play and rest time. I’m not sure Winnie wants to leave when I come pick her up! She clearly enjoys her time here.”

About: I thrive on routines, keep things clean, and pay attention to the details that matter, feeding schedules, meds, quirks, energy levels. I’m comfortable with everything from high-energy dogs that need real exercise to older dogs that want consistency and patience, I have one of each myself. You’ll get clear updates, photos, and honest communication, no guessing. If your dog needs structure and calm energy, we’ll get along well. I work from home when I’m not traveling, so your dog isn’t sitting alone all day. My dogs rotate between lounging inside and playing in the yard, with built-in lunch and evening walks. I keep a steady routine and can adjust to match yours, feeding times, meds, exercise, whatever your dog is used to. If I’m traveling, I block availability. Fully fenced yard, dog-friendly home, and two well-socialized dogs if your pup likes company. I’m comfortable with crate routines if that’s what your dog knows. I keep a clean, structured environment and separate dogs when needed based on energy or temperament. I also have a 7-year-old who is around at times, respectful, supervised, and good with dogs. If your dog isn’t comfortable with kids, just say so and I’ll plan accordingly. Clear communication, consistent care, and safety first, always.
About: Hello I have love animals as young as I can remember I would love to take care of your cat or dog I love walking outside I think it's very important that your dog gets lots of exercise they need to be stimulated mentally I would like to cuddle with your dog or cat, Don't hesitate to reach out to me My schedule is very flexible, I work night so I'm pretty much available during the day, I can also change my schedule to meet your 1st baby's needs I live near a trail so I can take your dog for lots of walks And I have a kennel they're more comfortable sleeping than one

About: I’ve had a dog in the house since I was 5. I’ve dog sat 2 pit bulls while I also babysat 2 kids when I was just 14 for 12 hours a day. I currently dog sit for my mom all the time. I taught my dog how to rollover, speak, spin, and more all while being a single mom with a little baby! I’m currently staying at home taking care of my son and will be home all day every day for the most part. I can give your fur baby as much attention as they need, take them on walks, play fetch, or reinforce training and positive behavior. I don’t have a fenced yard but I have a long leash to let my dogs run a bit and stay outside for a while if they would like. I also have a little kiddie pool for them to play in for hot summer days. My dogs also enjoy chasing water straight from the hose! I always pay attention to make sure they never get overheated. At your house I would try to follow your typical routine so it feels natural for your fur baby!
About: I've personally had many dogs of different sizes and energies, including a Border Collie, Boxer, American Bulldog. I have experience in training (reward training). I am capable of basic grooming, including nails. The Tibetan Spaniel listed on my profile is actually my daughter's dog and he is only at my home during college breaks, otherwise, they are in Ohio the rest of the year Think of your dog's stay at my house as a vacation at Grandma's. Your dog will be spoiled to the extent that YOU allow (and maybe a tennsy bit more). 😉 I mostly work from home with occasional short stints in a workplace and a very flexible schedule. I can be home at any time to ensure that dogs can potty, get playtime, etc. I never work on the weekends. I have a half acre of flat, safe, fenced in yard with grass and gardens. My schedule is very flexible and can adapt to your dog's feeding, sleeping and play schedule. I have no issues waking early, etc.
“Kevin and Ricky were very nice. My Ollie loved meeting them and played well with Ricky. Kevin communicated well and I had no worries knowing he was caring for Ollie.”

“Osvaldo took excellent care of my Apollo even on a very short notice. I will definitely use him again!! Sent me plenty of pics and videos and updated me during the day. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my dog!!!”

“We feel so fortunate to have found Scott! Our golden retriever has the absolute best time at his house; she comes home tired and happy. And he sends the best pictures showing us what she’s up to throughout the day … I wish my kids’ daycare was this thorough!”

“Meghann was so responsive when we reached out somewhat last-minute and communicated seamlessly while providing care for Monte. Would absolutely recommend Meghann and we’ll be using her again!”

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
