I haven’t had a pet escape or get lost on my watch yet, and I don’t plan to start now. My childhood dog escaped once as kid, and even thought he was quickly found, it made me realize the horror of potentially losing a pet. As a result, I take pet safety very seriously. I will not walk a dog without a leash. I always double and triple check that doors are closed/locked (when appropriate).

I have experience caring for multiple types of animals including dogs, cats, bunnies, and fish, and all of my own animals have lived (or are living) happy, healthy, long lives. In fact, my bunny recently passed away at 14 years old and was the oldest domestic rabbit our vet had ever met! We currently have a 5 year old cat, a 15 year old dog, and fish. Whether your pet gets along with other animals or not, we are able to accommodate your pet's needs. I know how tricky it can be to find pet care, whether every now and then or on a regular basis, and I am happy to offer my services on Rover! I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means I am able to meet your scheduling needs. I do not usually travel very much throughout the year, except for a week or two over the summer, so I am available almost year-round, including over the holidays. We have a fenced in yard, along with multiple doggy doors - one from the house to a fenced-in dog run and one from the garage to the main back yard. Both of these can be closed, so your pet only has access to them if you want them to. We also are able to set up our home to separate your pet from our pets, if you are worried they won't get along, giving all animals plenty of space to live comfortably. If I am caring for your pet in your home, I take utmost care to make sure your pet has what they need and is safe. I always check and double-check doors, windows, and gates that should be closed are closed and locked, so your pet can't escape while you are gone. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet home while you are out, and I want to make it as easy for you as possible!

Taking care of my own dogs makes them a daily routine with walks and playing fetch/tug of war. I have a large backyard for dog play and a large doggie door for easy in and out access. I have two dogs to keep any visitor company. Our neighborhood is quiet for any pets that are noise sensitive.
