“Summer communicated well of when she would be there, what the dogs did, and how they were. I was nervous as my dogs are never left alone and she did great with keeping me informed during her check ins.”

“Brooke did a fantastic job taking care of my two cats. One of them was having some skin issues requiring extra care and attention, and she handled that without issue. Her Rover cards have nice updates and good pictures. I always feel like my pets are in good hands (and laps) when she is looking after them.”

“I highly recommend Leah. She likes all animals. I have a quirky cat. Leah has knowledge and understanding of cats. She is reliable and trustworthy. I will consider her for future bookings.”
“Amanda did a wonderful job taking care of our big dogs! She was flexible with me when my travel plans changed, and treated my precious puppos with sweetness and love. She was always punctual with her scheduled visits, and I loved the pictures in my Rover card after each visit. Highly recommended! We will definitely use her help again.”

“Jeffrey was great!! He was very accommodating and attentive. He came over to meet our cats before we left to ensure that there would not be an extra stress, and to ensure that they would get along. He listened to me engage with our standoffish cat to know how to talk with her. I appreciated everything he did for us while we were out of town!!”
“Cecilia has been great to work with. She provides excellent care for our dog when we're away, and she's always consistent, reliable, and on time. Couldn't recommend her enough!”

“Emily did great with our berniedoodle. She’s an excellent communicator. She was very prompt in her visits. My daughter gave her a tip in person because that was the first time using the Rover app which provides an opportunity to tip. We’ve already booked her again for September.”

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I have had mostly dogs. My kids are also very animal oriented. I have cared for praying mantis, hermit crabs, tortoises, cocktail, hamsters, cats, dogs, bunny. These are most of the pets I have cared for. Walking them, helping groom them feeding them and spending time with them. I have trained both my cat and my dog many commands. They both know sit, speak, the dog knows shake and can switch, the cat is learning. I just enjoy being around animals. If I could I would have many more, but that is why I am here, so I can visit with other animals. I am currently not working and just enjoy spending time with my older kids and my pets. I have time on my hands and want to be with animals so I am doing this and looking into volunteer opportunities with the local shelters Right now because I have pets at home I would be willing to come to your home and take care of your animals. When my husband is home I would be willing to do overnights if needed
“This is my first time using a pet sitter, and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent! I felt like my pets were in amazing hands with Lara. She paid extra attention to their needs (and messes) and cared a lot about their wellbeing. I really appreciated her attentiveness and her love for animals.”

Cecilia was fantastic! Being able to feel confident and comfortable with someone caring for your fur babies makes traveling less stressful. That's what Cecilia provided. She provided ease of mind knowing my two fur babies were being cared for. I will definitely book with Cecilia in the future.

I highly recommend Tearra. She is great with animals and is able to build a bond with skittish cats. She's also highly organized, punctual, great at managing details and an excellent communicator (proactively and in-between visits). My cats are divas and they're in great hands with Tearra. Your fur babes will be too!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
