Stephen has been absolutely wonderful with my older dog, Billy. He is experienced, compassionate, and truly understands the special care and patience that senior dogs need. From the start, it was clear that he is attentive and thoughtful, always making sure Billy is comfortable and well cared for. His calm, caring manner gave me great peace of mind. I highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking for someone who genuinely understands and loves senior dogs.

About: Hi! We’re a dependable, dog-loving family offering in-home dog boarding and dog sitting on Cape Cod. If you’re looking for a safe, attentive, and comfortable home for your dog while you’re away, you’ve found it. We both work from home, so your dog will never be alone. We have a small, friendly Labradoodle who loves other dogs and is very used to sharing his space. Because of that, visiting dogs typically adjust quickly and feel right at home here. We’ve cared for many friends’ dogs over the years, including puppies, adult dogs, and seniors. We’re comfortable with different temperaments, energy levels, and routines, from active dogs who need lots of playtime and walks to more relaxed dogs who just want a calm, cozy environment. We have used pet sitters several times for our own travels, so we know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your beloved fur baby with a stranger. We will make your dog one of our family and give you regular updates, including photos. We know how important it is to trust who you leave your dog with. Our goal is simple: make your dog feel safe, happy, and cared for, so you can relax while you’re away. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a meet & greet—we’d love to meet you and your pup! Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine because we both work from home full-time. This allows us to build our day around the dogs in our care rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. Our typical day includes morning potty breaks and walks, followed by a relaxed workday where dogs have plenty of supervision, companionship, and opportunities to go outside as needed. We take breaks throughout the day for playtime, short walks, and attention, depending on each dog’s energy level and routine. In the evenings, we usually incorporate longer walks, playtime, or wind-down time, making sure dogs are settled and comfortable before bedtime. Because dogs are part of our home environment, they’re included in our daily rhythm—not treated as an afterthought. On weekends, we’re generally home and maintain a similar routine, with even more flexibility for walks, outdoor time, and one-on-one attention. Overall, having dogs in our care is something we genuinely enjoy and prioritize, and our schedule allows us to provide consistent, attentive care throughout the day and week. We care for every dog as if they’re our own, with a focus on keeping their routine consistent, their environment safe, and making sure they feel comfortable and loved while you’re away. Before any stay, we take time to understand your dog’s daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any quirks or preferences—so we can mirror what they’re used to at home as closely as possible. In our home, dogs get: Plenty of supervision (we both work from home, so they’re rarely alone) Regular potty breaks, walks, and playtime based on their energy level A calm, safe environment with space to relax or socialize Lots of attention and affection throughout the day We’re also comfortable administering basic medications if needed and following any specific care instructions you provide.

He was all smiles and wags when I picked him up at the end of the week! I would recommend Karen to anyone looking to drop their dog off with someone kind and reliable.

Millie had a terrific weekend. A shy dog, Maria took the time to integrate her into her family activities. She came back happy, bathed and exhausted from her weekend. Maria was also very accommodating with our schedule- we dropped off early and picked up earlier than planned. She was gracious and helpful. Maria also sent great pictures of Millie from her weekend - which were passed around the table at the graduation dinner.

Emily and Caroline are kind and reliable. They took care of our dog, Lily, as if she was their own. They were flexible with pickup and drop off times and we felt at ease knowing that Lily had someone in the house with her during the day since Emily works from home. Lily also had a great time with their dog, Goose, and she came back to us happy and all tired out from playing with him. We will definitely book with them again in the future!

Katharine was absolutely wonderful as a Rover host. I had a super-last-minute work trip to Hyannis Port and needed to board Ronan for 2 days. This was my first time using Rover and Kate put me and my old pup at ease immediately with her calming presence. She sent photo and video updates of Ronan having long walks on the beach and time in her yard and house. When I picked him up he was so relaxed and comfortable with her, I think he would have happily stayed several more days! I would definitely book with her again.

Katie is absolutely amazing--a true dog whisperer. She took care of our beloved but challenging 15-year-old dog for three days. Our dog is usually wary of strangers and has separation aniety, having been abused when young, When I dropped him off on a Friday evening, he immediately trotted after Katie and was comfortable with her from the start. She coaxed him into her lovely house and let him explore to his hearts content. If felt very confident, leaving him in her care. Our dog takes multiple medications (for anxiety, past seizures) and Katie handled their administration perfectly. Our old guy is also terrified of thunder storms, which I'd forgotten to mention. Of course, we had a series of dramatic storms his first night and throughout the first full day of his stay. Katie calmed our dog down--something we have not been able to do, even with additional tranquilizers. She even swaddled him in a weighted blanket and sent us pictures of him resting peacefully. Between breaks in the weather and once it cleared for the rest of his stay, she took him on many long beach walks and sent us photo updates. He loves beach walks, and was clearly very happy during his entire visit. Katie was calm, patient and flexible. (I got stomach flu and had to delay picking hm up, and she was very kind and understanding about my repeated pick-up postponements). I can't say enough good things abut her. i'd drive 100 miles to have Blake stay with Katie. She's also a wonderful, upbeat, very smart person. All of our interactions made me want to have her as a friend! I hope Blake can stay with her whenever we have to board him on the Cape. You dog will be very fortunate to stay with her. Recommend her 10000000n%.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

94% of Hyannis sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Hyannis landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hyannis home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hyannis.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Hyannis sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
