“Marilyn provided great care for our cat while we were out of town for a week. She sent daily pictures and details of what they did during her visits. Couldn’t recommend her enough!”
About: Since I was five years old when we adopted our family puppy, I have been involved in taking care of dogs. I have also over 350 hours of shelter volunteer experience in walking dogs, giving medications, and obedience training. Since I am hoping to be a vet one day, I am always wanting to meet new animals and give them the best care possible! I am currently a full-time student at Carleton and thus have classes and other extracurricular activities throughout the day. However, I have chunks of time throughout the day that could be devoted to pet care. If I am pet-sitting for you, your animal will be my priority! I do not have the capacity to care for your pet in my house, but I can provide whatever level of care you need in for your pet in your own home! If you need me to stay the night, I can do that. I am a detail-oriented person so whatever your pet needs I feel confident I can provide it.
“Josie and Jake are amazing! They took great care of our cats and provided fantastic updates every day. Even making an extra trip over when we needed them to check on something. Would highly recommend them for your pets as they really care about them like they are their own!”

About: I have been taking care of animals for 10 years I love taking care of them I love loving on them playing with them cleaning them with the brushes Monday through Friday I can do anytime after 4:00 up until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday I can do from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Keeping the litter boxes clean making sure they have fresh water making sure they have food and loving on them and playing with them brushing them if needed
“Brittany is wonderful with our girls (who can be a little difficult). I never worry that their schedule will be disrupted. She cares so greatly for them. I look forward to the next time we have her sit for them!”

About: I've taken care of animals my whole life, I have a ton myself and I'm good at taking care, feeding and cleaning up after animals and I'm good at giving medication and being on schedule with it too :) This would be my part time job for school so I'm free to play with your animals from 1pm-8pm but I am pretty flexible with scheduling so if you need different times just ask. When caring for animals in someone's home, prioritize their safety, trust, and environment. Ensure a safe space, build trust through positive reinforcement, and create a comfortable environment. Communication is key.
About: We have a black lab beagal mix at our house and we have trained him and have taken him to training classes. I also am very flexible with the times I can walk that dogs. I can also run with the dogs with the client wants me to! With having a dog it is daily. We take our dog for walks most days unless it is raining or too hot out. We love him like he is our own kid :) I would not take a clients animal into our house. I would primarily walk them around the area to make sure they have been walked. If the client wants me to run with them as well I can do that too!
“Alyssa was awesome! She took awesome care of my scaredy cat while I was out of town for a week, and sent me plenty of pictures and videos! Will definitely book her again next time I am out of town :)”

About: Hi! My name is Alyssa, and I’m a pre-med college student who is responsible, reliable, and passionate about caring for animals. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I’ve had my own dog for 11 years, giving me firsthand experience with daily care, exercise, feeding routines, and providing plenty of love and attention. I am dedicated to ensuring every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I give my own dog. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Im currently off school for the summer so I have lots of spare time! When I return to school in August, I will be available early mornings and evenings to check on your fur babies :) I have a fenced in backyard and allow my dog to roam both the house and backyard freely. I leave her food out so she can nibble on it throughout the day. She is potty trained to go to the back door when she needs!
“Madison did a great job taking care of my dogs and updating me with photos and other information. She showed up on time and checked in every time to see if anything additional was needed. I plan to book with her again in the future.”

About: I have been an occasional pet sitter for friends and family since I was 10 years old. I have been very reliable to feed and walk multiple dogs during multiple day vacations. I am a college student who is home for January term so I am free all day to care for your pups! I am happy to walk, feed or play with your pets at any time of the day. I am a very gentile and kind person and love to play with pets. I would take care of your dogs in your home with ease.
“Chloe is the best sitter ever! She gave us piece of mind while doing excellent work. She made her last visit right before we returned home so the boxes and bowls would be tidy. She gave extra attention to our cats. Booking her is the best option out there. Highly recommend”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
