“Kelsey did a wonderful job watching our dog Zippy while we were away! She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. Zippy looked happy, well cared for, and clearly got lots of attention. 🐾 We really appreciated how reliable and kind Kelsey was throughout the stay. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. We’d absolutely trust her with Zippy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter on Rover! 😊”
“I had Ron watch my 2 small dogs. My one dog is very scared and doesn’t like to go for walks. He has a fenced in backyard that was perfect for my dogs. He was also very calm with my dogs which helped my scared dog feel comfortable. He is flexible with times and communicates timely. He had a big dog bed and some toys and treats in his home.”
“Amanda and her family (humans and canines!) took great care of Jazz, allowing me to visit my son! I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a warm environment for their dog!”
“My dog, Lola, enjoyed Thanksgiving week with Samantha and I’ve already booked the Christmas holiday week for her. That’s high praise for Samantha’s positive style & work ethics. ***** 5 stars!”
“Excellent service and care of my dog. Tina and Rick gave me multiple photos, videos, and text updates throughout the day. When my dog started displaying signs of distress, Tina went the extra mile and slept on the couch next to him. Even though my dog wasn't on his best behavior, I feel he was well cared for and he even left with a goody bag!”
“Anna was wonderful with my pup and is just a special person who loves animals. Her home was amazing and is perfect for any dog. The backyard was a special treat for sure for my Chip. I cannot recommend Anna and her home enough. I knew my dog was very well taken care of and in great hands. Excellent communication as well. Thank you Anna and Gabe too 😘 ❤️”
“We’re really happy with Debra and how she handled everything for our dog while we were out of town. We arranged for a meetup before the stay to ensure this would be a good match. When I dropped off our dog there was an introduction to the other pets in her home so our pup could get acclimated. While we were away we received daily updates with photos and it looked like our pup was having a great time. Thanks for taking good care and we look forward to scheduling with you again!”
“They helped me out TONS by watching my Shih Tzu for about 6 days. I’ve never used Rover before, so I was a little hesitant at first. Everything went smooth and they were flexible on drop off & pickup times since we drove all day. My dog seemed extremely comfortable @ pickup and we got several pics throughout the week! I would definitely book with them again.”
“LeAndra was very communicative throughout the trip and took the time to share pictures and updates that put our mind at ease. She walked Hermione and made sure she felt loved even through the 4th of July fireworks. Would absolutely book again.”
“Stacie and Doug took great care of our little guy! They provided regular updates and pictures while we were away. I would highly recommend them to anyone and plan to use them again in the future. Thank you!”
“I was thrilled with my boarding experience with Leeshand. I'm a first-time dog owner with a 3 month old puppy so I was a little nervous to leave her on her own over the weekend. But Leeshand exceeded expectations with amazing care and frequent updates. I confidently recommend her services.”
“Thankyou so much for taking care of Lucky. You are the the best. I had no worries leaving my little Lucky with you. Sent me pictures every day to keep me updated on how Lucky was doing. I Would 100% definitely rebook again.”
“My boys always love staying with Michael and Regina, and we love knowing that they will have the best time during their stay. They always send tons of pictures, and treat my boys like their own”
“Tove & Gerry are the best. Our 10 year old Golden Doodle Marley had only been boarded once in her life. From the first minute that she walked into their home Marley was comfortable. They took great care of her, sent updates and pictures and cared for her like she was their own. Tove even slept with Marley one night when her tummy wasn’t feeling great. You couldn’t ask for two more wonderful people to watch your little one.”
“Angela was great with my dog shortie. Her dog colt is very sweet. She was very welcoming and listened carefully to all of my tips. She was super responsive and understood my anxieties about leaving my dog with someone.”
“Cathy kept my rescue puppy,Tanner, for a week. Tanner is generally skiddish of people but warmed right up to Cathy without even trying! You can certainly tell she has a deep passion of caring for animals! We received pictures or videos daily, which was so nice! She even made sure to socialize him with neighbor humans and pets alike!! I will definitely be using Cathy’s services again!”
“Austin was so great! After a horrible rover experience with another sitter we knew our Banks would be happy here! We got regular pictures of our sweet boy playing and looking like a dog on the best puppy vacation! He came back tired in the best way (which is saying a lot as Banks is a 5 year old Border Collie), and strangely smelling fantastic! We can not thank Austin enough for taking care of our big guy!”
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Hunting Valley
Flora was the loveliest to me and Carter. From the initial meeting she was so kind, gentle, attentive, and understanding with Carter. She wanted to know the details of his personality and the activities he likes. She left me detailed notes of how their day and evening went and sent professional like photos. She loves walking so I knew Carter would be well exercised, even in the colder weather (which Carter loves). Thank you for the wonderful care!
Flora was absolutely wonderful for my human-centered pittie pup, Cuyahoga! When we arrived to pick up Cuyahoga, she was very happy to see us but wasn't eager to leave Flora's side (usually when we pick Cuy up from boarding, she's ready to head home stat!). She clearly had created a close bond with Flora and I can see why, having seen Flora in action with her. Flora provided great updates throughout our time away. We will 100% book with Flora next time.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hunting Valley home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hunting Valley.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hunting Valley sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
