“Bristoe had a ball! Thank you for having him! I loved the texts throughout my stay away from my boy. Theresa was very accommodating and easy to work with. Thanks again!! We look forward to future stays.”

“Thank you so much for taking such phenomenal care of Snoopy! You completely put our minds at ease from the start. The daily photo updates were great and put our minds at ease. It was clear that he was in good hands. Snoopy came home happy and relaxed and we will definitely be booking again!”

“I was very happy with the care our dog received while with Svitlana. I received pictures and updates. He was so happy when I arrived to pick him up. It almost appeared as though he didn’t want to leave. I will be booking with her again!”

“Josie and her family was great w/ our pittie, Max. We were anxious as this is the first time we’re going to be away from him, but she provided us with updates the whole time. I can tell Mac loved being at their home.”

“Kathy did a great job caring for our Chelsea for an overnight stay! Chelsea was very happy when she came home. She was clearly well taken care of and enjoyed her time with Kathy. We look forward to a future stay!”

“Oleg and his family were awesome with Buddy. He wasn't/isn't fully house-trained as he was only rescued around 10 days ago. We had tickets we had purchased months ago and they willingly kept him overnight. Very good experience and very highly recommend him. We will call him first the next time we need a sitter.”

“We booked Kyla and Cody not just for boarding our pup, but for drop-in visits with our other critters. Kyla and Cody were fantastic! We had some unique instructions, and nothing fazed them. They were great about providing updates and photos, asked questions when appropriate, and overall just gave us a sense of relief that our babies would be in good hands so that we could truly relax while we were away from home. Plus our pup found a great new friend in their dog while in their home.”

“Lisa was wonderful. Our Aussie did great at her home with other dogs, he was well cared for. Lisa is very sweet and you can tell she really cares and loves dogs. I would book again.”

“Diana takes great care of our girl, Tricksey! She sends us pictures of her and updates every day of how she's doing. When we drop Tricksey off with Diana, we know she will be loved and well taken care of.”

“Pam & Michael were excellent hosts of my babies! My 2 girls loved their stay with them and Pam & Michael provided updates to me on them daily while I was gone. I'd highly recommend them for anyone to leave their dogs with!”

“Elizabeth is amazing with my dog Louie. He has been turned down at quite a few places because of his pretty severe anxiety. Elizabeth took her time with him, allowed me to set up a meet and greet an did three separate days with him before my vacation when he would be spending 6 days with her. He did great and Elizabeth kept me updated the entire time. She obviously has experience with all types of behavioral and health needs and it is clear how much she cares for and loves animals. I am grateful I found her and Louie has definitely become a regular with her. Now that he is home I can tell how much fun he had while I was away and as an owner of an anxious pitbull, there is no better feeling than knowing that!”

“This was our first time using Rover service ever. So still very new to the experience. It seems like everything went well and we are glad Jenny took good care of our dog 🐶”

“Judy was amazing watching after our young and energetic Aussie for an entire week. She was great with daily communication and regular updates on how our our little lady was doing. Thank you so much Judy for keeping us at ease. Look forward to boarding Willow aka Wiggle Butts? with you in the future.”

“Ashley & Jerrell were exceptionally kind & thoughtful, going the extra mile to help us board our dog on short notice during an emergency. Great communication throughout shifting circumstances and they were also very patient with my elderly mother. The only downside was that our dog was crated from 6:30am to 3:30pm while they were at work, but not unexpected.”

“I am a repeat customer with bookings already planned with Holly. She is excellent and I would not trust Barkley with anyone else. You can't go wrong booking with her. Thank you again!”

“Carrie took great care of Nova! She kept me updated on all of the fun Nova was having with her dog. Nova had a great time and came home completely tired out. I would highly recommend Carrie!”

“Katlyn was great! Kept us updated on our dog, sent pictures, and gifted him the only toy he couldn’t stop playing with! Katlyn was able to take him last minute and a day earlier to make our trip easier! Very professional and personable as well! Looking forward to booking with her in the future as well!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Hunterstown can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hunterstown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hunterstown.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hunterstown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
