About: Our dogs have always been family and I can't recall any time in my entire life when I haven't had a dog at my side, sometimes two or three. I've had dogs of all sizes and energy levels. The longest boarding was for two months while the pup parent traveled in Asia. I've had dogs on my small ranch in NV and we rode trails together. They moved with me to CO and we enjoyed the mountains and front range together. I drove cross-country many times with my dogs, stayed in hotels and visited friends and family with them. My dogs are always a priority in all we do and I will care for your pups as I do mine. Be assured that I will follow any special instructions you give to provide your pet a safe, happy, stress-free stay. I recently rescued a deaf puppy who was in the middle of the road, and took care of her until a new, loving home was secured. I checked on her later and she is happy with her people and dog family. I am retired and always home. I spend my days gardening, cooking, squirrel and bird-watching, helping at church, and making greeting cards. My two dogs are with me the entire day. We will give your pup lots of company and love. I prefer to sit for one client at a time and max two dogs at a time. I look forward to meeting you and your pups. It's a good day any day that you meet new friends with fur. They bring joy to life. I have a 1/2 acre and a huge fenced yard for play and romping. Your dog will not be put outside for any length of time without my oversight. I am frequently out in the yard, relaxing, weeding, planting and pruning. Safety is number one and focused, pleasant care are my priorities. I want to be sure that the pups have my undivided attention. My two small dogs and I will give your pup lots of company assuring that he or she is acclimated and gets to know us. Our home is comfortable and happy. Does your pup enjoy endless belly rubs? Mine do and I have plenty to share. I prefer to sit for one client and max two dogs at a time. Photos of your pup's day are provided, if requested. I feed my dogs twice a day and give them one treat after their meals. I will feed your dogs at the time of day you prefer. We will only give your pup treats that you provide. I will follow your feeding schedule and administer meds if needed. My early career was 20 years as a hospital clinical laboratory scientist and then as a director. I've medicated my dogs and horses and given shots, so I know all the techniques needed to administer meds for your dog. Be assured, I recognize a dog's body language if in pain, stressed, or sick and will notify you immediately of any serious issues. I will follow your instructions if vet services are needed. My senior dog, Vivvie requires a special diet, so I make homemade dog food, veterinarian approved. No table scraps for her or for dogs in my care.
About: I empathize with the deep bond between pet owners and their furry companions. Having been raised with dogs and cats of different sizes, I possess extensive expertise in their care. Moreover, my flexible timetable enables me to dedicate ample time and affection to your beloved pet throughout the week. My background includes tending to animals of all sizes, demonstrating patience in grooming, administering medication, engaging in playtime, and fostering trust. I prioritize respecting the individual boundaries of each furry friend. As I work from home, I seamlessly integrate pet care into my schedule, ensuring regular breaks for feeding, playtime, walks, and cuddles throughout the day. In my home, pets receive personalized care tailored to their needs, including regular exercise, playtime, feeding, and plenty of love and attention in a safe and comfortable environment.
About: Hi, I’m Amanda! I have several years of professional experience working with dogs in boarding and daycare environments, with a strong focus on behavior, safety, and low-stress handling. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs, administering medications, following special routines, and working with dogs that benefit from a calmer environment. My background has taught me the importance of understanding each dog’s individual needs and adjusting care accordingly. I also carry pet care insurance in addition to Rover’s protections and believe in clear, honest communication so owners can feel confident while they’re away. Pet care is a central part of my daily routine. I work from home, which allows me to spend the majority of my day with the dogs in my care rather than being away at a traditional 9-to-5 job. My schedule is built around feeding routines, walks, enrichment, potty breaks, cleaning, and individual attention. While I occasionally leave for errands or appointments, dogs are not routinely left alone for a full workday. I provide care in a calm, structured home environment designed to help dogs feel safe and comfortable while away from home. Dogs are supervised, managed thoughtfully, and given appropriate opportunities for activity and rest throughout the day. I prioritize low-stress handling, safe management practices, and predictable routines that help dogs settle in successfully. Each dog’s care is adjusted based on their age, temperament, energy level, and individual needs.
“Lexie was amazing! Communicating and scheduling was breeze. My Cooper was exhausted when he got home..... he had a great time running around with her two sweet dogs. Have already booked a long stay. Highly recommend!”

“We had an amazing experience with this dog sitter! Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the property offers plenty of land for dogs to roam, explore, and really stretch their legs. Their sweet children were so gentle and playful with our pup, making the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we give our experience a 10 out of 10!”

About: I’ve spent over 15 years caring for a wide variety of animals. What sets me apart is my experience with sick, senior, and disabled pets. Some of my own animals have special needs, so I understand how important it is to provide gentle, attentive care. I’m calm, patient, and confident with everything from giving meds to handling nervous or medically fragile pets. Whether your pet is young, old, or needs extra TLC, I’ve got it covered. Animals are a part of my everyday life—I care for my own pets daily. Feeding, cleaning, medication, and quality time are all part of my routine. I naturally plan my days around animal care, so adding your pet to my schedule is easy and something I truly enjoy. Caring for animals isn’t a chore for me—it’s just part of who I am. Whether in my home or yours, I create a safe, loving, and relaxed environment. At my home, I have a fully privacy-fenced yard for safe outdoor time and my own friendly dogs who love to play and keep new friends company. I stick to your pet’s routine—feeding, meds, potty breaks, and play—while giving them the same care and attention I give my own animals. I’m experienced with pets of all kinds and always make sure they feel comfortable, secure, and loved.
“Heather is great! Clearly cares for the dogs and keeps them super active and engaged. Good communication throughout the day. Kosmo was nice and tired from all the activity and slept like a rock when he got home. :)”

“I would definitely recommend Rebekah to any and everyone! Chloe absolutely LOVES her! She always has a good time and comes home tired which I love! Rebekah is very knowledgeable about animals she’s even given me tips and educated me about my dogs breed. I also love how she takes the time understand Chloe and sees what works best for her. She’s very patient with Chloe as well and keeps me updated through out the day. I’m so happy I found her I will continue to use her services as long as I can.”

“Robin was amazing. She was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated, which gave me complete peace of mind. My puppy was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m Taylor, and I have extensive experience working with animals of all kinds, including dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, and large animals. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State Universith and recently completed my Master’s in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a concentration in Shelter Animal Medicine through the University of Florida. I also have professional veterinary hospital experience and am currently preparing to begin veterinary school at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. I’ve worked in veterinary clinics for several years and am comfortable with pets of all ages, sizes, and medical needs. I have experience administering medications and injections, monitoring post-surgical or senior pets, handling anxious animals, and recognizing when something may be medically concerning. I also have experience with puppy care/training and senior pet care, so I’m happy to accommodate different energy levels and routines. My goal is always to make your pets feel as comfortable and safe as possible while you’re away. I try to keep them on their normal routine, whether that means long walks, playtime, cuddle time, medication schedules, or just having someone patient and attentive around. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. For boarding: I currently live in a pet-friendly home environment and can accommodate different needs depending on your pet’s personality and comfort level. If your pet uses a crate/kennel, you’re welcome to bring it so they have something familiar from home. Safety is extremely important to me, and all outdoor time is supervised and leashed unless otherwise discussed. I’m very comfortable with pets that require extra care, including medications, injections, special feeding instructions, or senior accommodations. Please let me know about any medical conditions, behavioral concerns, fears, or routines ahead of time so I can make their stay as stress-free as possible. :) Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because caring for animals is already a huge part of my daily life. I have several years of veterinary hospital experience and recently completed my Master’s in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a concentration in Shelter Animal Medicine through the University of Florida online while working full time. I’m also preparing to begin veterinary school at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. Because of my background, I’m very comfortable handling pets with different personalities, energy levels, and medical needs. Outside of my regular responsibilities, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means walks, playtime, cuddle time, enrichment activities, or helping maintain their normal routines while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I work hard to create a calm, low-stress environment and to keep pets on routines that feel familiar to them. I’m experienced with a wide range of temperaments and medical needs, including senior pets, anxious pets, and pets requiring medications or injections. For boarding, pets are always supervised and outdoor time is safely managed on leash unless otherwise discussed. If your pet is crate-trained, you’re welcome to bring their crate or favorite items from home to help them feel more comfortable and secure during their stay. I believe communication is extremely important, so I always try to keep owners updated and make sure everyone feels confident and comfortable throughout the visit.
“I'd give Allison ten stars if I could. There are no words to describe how well she and her husband have accommodated and loved my dog as if she were their own. She's been flexible with my schedule, responds quickly and appropriately, and she truly cares. I know when I am at work, I don't have to worry because my Sawyer is in great hands of a loving family. She is walked, cuddled, and played with, and I get numerous updates/pictures throughout the day that make me smile at work. I can't think of one thing I don't love about my Sawyer being in Allison's care. She has a great heart, especially for dogs.”

“We were so excited to find Colby & his family! Normally we would leave our boys in the camper while we do our adventures, but it was so hot. I contacted Colby late the night before and he took our boys in while we rafted in Columbus. They were loved & cared for while we were on our adventure and we’re so worn out that they were happy to sleep through the rainy night.”

About: I have cared for animals my whole life. I've taken care of them when abandoned by the mother, sick, or disabled. I have experience doing basic training. My own pets pile on me the second I sit down. I've never had a pet pass the rainbow bridge before the age of ten. I love animals so much and I will love yours too! **** I like to send many pictures and updates. Please do not feel obligated to reply to each one. Dont worry, I know you are busy**** Taking care of animals is all I want to do. I am a stay-at-home mom and my youngest is 16. I have plenty of time on my hands and love. I have fully fenced yard in a safe neighborhood. I have a pug of my own who doesn't mind other animals. I usually keep him in the bedroom for the first couple hours. I have two inside/outside cats who are also very friendly to people and animals. If I am sitting cats and dogs together, I will usually keep the two separate. Cats upstairs and dogs downstairs. Don't worry about attention. There is plenty to go around! If I'm caring for your babies at your house, I will follow the rules you provide.
About: I’ve had a dog my whole life, to me a home isn’t a home without one! As of right now I have three dogs, one that lives with me full time. I rescued him from a shelter and I love training him and watching him grow up. I would be a great help with training or just simply giving love and attention to your sweet pup ! I work part time at an Auburn country club with the flexibility of being able to leave in the middle of the day when needed. I am near tons of dog parks, I take my dog, Bear, everyday that it’s not raining, and he gets along great with every pet including cats. I also love to run and go on walks and wouldn’t mind having a furry companion.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 192 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Hugley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hugley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 192 sitters in Hugley, 84% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
