“Avery was fantastic!! We were gone for 12 days and she took care of 2 dogs and 4 cats for us. She even took care of our dog who’s afraid of the thunder during a very bad storm. We will definitely be seeking her out for future travels.”

“Jennifer was very kind to watch Mamba with less than a week's notice, which I really appreciated! Mamba also had a last-minute vet visit and Jennifer was still willing to watch her with a cone, and some new medication to administer that I had not planned on. Everything went smoothly! Loved getting pictures as well!”

“Raelynn was amazing! We have never used a dog sitter before and were nervous to leave our pups, but Raelynn put us at ease. She was patient with our 4 month old puppy and gave our older pup lots of attention. I would absolutely recommend her and use her again as we came home to happy dogs!”

About: Ken and I grew up in loving homes with dogs and have had dogs all our married life. When I was growing up, we raised German Shorthair Pointers. Ken and I raised Shih Tzu's but had many other dogs along the way. We are retired and have lots of time for cuddles and kisses. Our backyard is enclosed for safe play and exercise. We have artificial grass so dogs who are allergic to grass will be safe. We have a great area to take dogs on a long or short walk. We would love to welcome your special baby to join our family while you are out of town. They will have our love and attention, and we will make sure they feel comfortable just as if they were home. Dog sitting works very nicely into my daily routine. I do not have any job other than taking care of the dog or dog's I am sitting. I have a large grass back yard that they can run freely in and a pet they can play with. i can play games with the pet.

I’ve dog and cat-sat for neighbors and roommates since I was 17. I’m a college student home for the summer with plenty of free time on my hands. I’m available at any time of the week and love all kinds of pets. I am comfortable with all sizes of dogs, cats, and any other furry friends of all ages! I’m able to handle big dogs on a leash as well.
“Val was great. She was available on short notice and came by before her scheduled appointment to introduce herself and get to know our dog a bit. She sent photos during her visit and was very communicative.”

“Dawn was so sweet and very attentive to Max’s need and personality. We were were so comfortable leaving him in her care. We will definitely be contacting Dawn again!! Thank you?❤️”

“Yvette took excellent care of Bailey. He is 15 and not feeling his best; yet, she was there for him all the time she watched him while we were at a son’s wedding. Anyone who is looking for the best care for your pet, you can’t go wrong with Yvette.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life. Currently have a dog and two cats that I love to bits. I always find time to be out playing with my dog and keeping cats company when it comes to the night hours. I’m currently not working but I do have the transportation to get around for check ins on pets. I have free time on my hands at the moment so my schedule is really open to going in the morning, going in the afternoon, and going in the evening times before bedtime. I do not offer boarding in my own home, so being in the client's home I would be sure to introduce myself to the dogs, be outside while dogs are playing, and always attentive as to where an animal is within the house or backyard.
“Kelly was absolutely fantastic! Right from the initial conversation, to the meet and greet and then to the stay her communication was awesome. She was wonderful with my special boys, made them feel so loved and at home while she watched them. Ensured Jack got all his medications on time! She sent lots of photos and messages of the boys relaxing and hanging out. They were so at ease with her! Our house was spotless on return as well. We absolutely lucked out on finding her and are so excited to have her back in the future!”

About: Hello! My name is Malia Bryant. I’m a second‑year law student looking for a summer side hustle that lets me spend more time with animals. I’ve been passionate about animals of all kinds and sizes for as long as I can remember, and I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. I’ve had my own dog for seven years and walk him every day, rain or shine. Caring for him as an adopted dog with both behavioral and health concerns has given me extensive experience with anxious, reactive, or special‑needs pets and the extra patience they sometimes require. I’m reliable, detail‑oriented, and used to balancing a demanding law school schedule with daily pet care, so you can trust that your pet’s routine will be followed closely. Whether you need regular walks, drop‑in visits, or overnight care, I’m excited to meet your animal(s) and treat them like my own. If you have any questions, special instructions, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to accommodate your pet’s specific needs. I am on summer break from law school, so I have plenty of time and a flexible schedule for walks, drop‑in visits, and pet sitting. I focus on safety, routine, and clear communication in both my home and my client’s home. I follow each pet’s feeding, walk, and play schedule, stick to owner instructions (including meds and leash rules), and keep the space clean and secure while sending regular updates.
“Jaime did a great job taking care of my 2 cats and 2 dogs while I was on a work trip. He was communicative and competent, listened to my pets needs and took flawless care of them. I didn't have to worry at all as I received regular photo updates. Thank you, Jaime!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hudson Oaks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hudson Oaks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hudson Oaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
