“Second time booking with Brooke. She is excellent. You will be so pleased. We will continue to use her for our sweet pup in the future. He comes home so happy and well taken care of!”

“Karen & Delbert's place is Brandon's home away from home! He loves to play with their dog and knows his name very well. I asked him if he wanted to go play with Bairn and he got so excited, running back and forth, looking out the window and wagging his tail! He couldn't wait to get there. They will treat your dog like it is their own. Highly recommend.”

“Amanda was amazing with Ziggy (12 wk old kitten). She sent us a wake-up picture and multiple pictures and a video at the end of the day. We would recommend her and will book again if needed.”

“Peppa had a wonderful stay with Kaitlin! She sent pictures and updates each day and was very accommodating to her needs. We felt very comfortable leaving Peppa in her care and we will absolutely use Kaitlin for future stays!”

“Emma was fantastic with our pups! She sent us lots of “pupdates” with pics. Took the girls on several walks, on outings to the park and even tried to teach them tricks. She went above and beyond with everything. I couldn’t have asked for a better first time Rover experience.”

“Gerrad was excellent with our timid Caspar. He made sure to do everything he could to make Caspar feel safe and reassure him that all was well. Lots of pictures, great communication, super conscious of Caspar's needs. Would happily use him again!”

“Mallory was the absolute sweetest and I am so grateful that my baby Chips got to spend the weekend with her and her other pets. He got to play so much. I loved the video updates and I felt peace of mind with my dog being in her care. We are also using Mallory for doggy daycare! If you want your pets to have the best experience and great level of care, she is the way to go!”

“Gretchen is fabulous with my girls! Both times I’ve booked with her it’s been on short notice & she & her family have been more than accommodating! My two dogs are high-energy & used to getting a lot of attention at home! Gretchen has taken them in & treated them like part of her family! She’s made it easy for me to relax & actually enjoy my trips knowing that they are in great hands! And she’s great about sending me pictures to let me see for myself that they’re having a great time!”

“Mikala was amazing and anytime I need an overnight sitter she is the first person I will call on. My Gypsy was so taken care of over the thanksgiving holiday. I received regular pictures and updates with a smiling puppy with her new friends. A special thanks to Mikala and her husband for helping me with our puppy drop off as I was hospitalized a few hours after our meet and greet and wasn’t able to meet personally. That meant so much to me that these sweet people went out of their way to help me. I would absolutely recommend Mikala for any service with Rover. The apitamy of a puppy mom and no doubt your fur babies will be in good hands with Mikala.”

“Ashleigh did great with my 2 weenie babies. She has a fenced in, safe yard. She text and sent photos everyday and was very accommodating to their needs. Definitely recommend her services!!!”

“Molly and her sweet daughter were wonderful with our corgis while they stayed with them for a week. We were at first a bit hesitant to leave them with someone we did not know since it was our first time. However, our dogs immediately warmed up to them upon meeting for the first time prior to booking. Molly communicated well and provided us with updates or any concerns or questions she had. We received cute photos of them playing in the yard and going for a pup cup. Our dogs appeared happy and well cared for upon pick up. We'd happily have Molly care for them again.”

“Nella is a very good 'Caregiver' & welcomed my dog/Bella w/open arms. Bella loved playing w/Her dog & running around endlessly outside. Nellas' property is in a rural community just N of Springfield proper & appeared to be relaxing when dropping Bella off. Nella was attentive & gave me regular text updates re: eating habits & activity level during Bellas' stay. I appreciated that & was able to enjoy my Trip bc of Her open communication. I will definitely contact Nella in the future, when I go out of town/state ~”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Holman home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Holman.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Holman sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
