About: Friends, coworkers, and family members have trusted me with taking care of their pets over the years. Most of my formal experience with caring for other peoples pets came during and after college, however I was raised around pets (cats and dogs) and learned how to be safe and responsible with animals when I was very little. I am very comfortable with a variety of breeds and temperaments. I have a good understanding of basic commands and have trained two of my own dogs from puppies. I grew up around dogs and cats (we had three golden retrievers at one point!) and always looked forward to getting a dog of my own. There is something about the bond between owner and dog that is special and unique. I enjoy having this bond with my own dog but I also love meeting new animals and seeing their personalities come out as they get comfortable interacting. I have been exposed to many types of dogs at local dog parks and dog friendly restaurants or other locations. I am familiar with caring for dogs that take oral medication and/or have health problems such as limited sight or blindness. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about hiring me for dog walking, check-ins, or dog day care! I have one small child in the home, so any dogs staying with us during the day or overnight would need to be comfortable and well behaved enough to be around a young child. I wake up early and go to bed around 9pm/10pm. I have one dog in the home who is very friendly and well socialized. He takes little to no time to warm up to other dogs when introduced. Your dog will have plenty of space to be comfortable to chill and play! We enjoy spending time outside on nice days. When it is too hot or cold outside I make sure our pup gets playtime or enrichment toys/treats inside. I currently can offer dog walking services, daily check-ins for cats or dogs, and day/night boarding at our home (as long as your pet is a good and safe fit for a home with a small child). We have a large front and backyard with a carport/porch area. Plenty of space for playing fetch, having the zoomies, or chewing on a treat while getting some fresh air, rain or shine! If your dog requires being leashed/walked when going potty, there is plenty of space to take them around the yard as well as walkable streets near our house, and a park less than 2 minutes away. Our dog currently follows recall and commands to do his "business" but if we are caring for another dog we will leash them both or follow the owner's preferences and what they are comfortable with.

About: First time doing this on a professional app! I’ve been caring for pets for a couple years—both as a long-time dog owner and friend to similarly-minded friends. Recently, I’ve gotten into caring for reptiles and amphibians, including feeding and changing humidity when needed. I’m a college student, so although I have classes that will take up a few hours out of my day—they’re flexible enough to allow me the freedom to set my own schedule! I know that pets deserve the upmost respect! They are our best friend our siblings and children and I will treat them as such. Furthermore, I’m fairly athletic, so if you have a gentle giant or wild speedster, I’ll be able to keep up with them.

About: I recently relocated from Greenville, South Carolina, to the Winston Salem area. While I'm new to the area, I'm not new to pet care! I've been a lifelong dog owner and have over five years of experience caring for dogs. I'm excited to start building new relationships with pet parents here in Winston Salem. I'm a registered nurse, so providing safe, dependable, and compassionate care comes naturally to me. My career has taught me to stay calm under pressure, pay close attention to detail, and follow routines and special instructions carefully-all qualities that also make me an excellent pet sitter. Whether your pet needs medication, has a specific routine, or simply loves extra attention, I'm happy to accommodate their individual needs. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels-from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I understand that every pet has their own personality, and I take the time to build trust so they feel comfortable, loved, and secure while you're away. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, or plenty of cuddles, my goal is to make your pet feel as happy and relaxed as possible. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life! As a nurse, I work only 3 days a week, which means I’m home the majority of the week with plenty of time and energy to care for pets. On my days off, I plan my routine around feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddle sessions. Even on the days I’m working, my husband, who has just as much experience with dogs as I do, takes over to ensure pets are safe, happy, and cared for. We truly enjoy having dogs around and treat every one like our own! In my home, pets are treated like part of the family! We have a fully fenced backyard in a quiet, safe neighborhood, perfect for pups to run, play, and get plenty of fresh air. Inside, there’s lots of space for lounging and relaxing, and I always make sure pets are comfortable, well-fed, and getting plenty of love and attention throughout the day. Whether it’s playtime, mealtime, or just some cozy cuddles, I follow each pet’s routine closely to make sure they feel right at home.

About: I was raised on a farm with cats and dogs. I have a plott hound mix, a pit bull, a lab, and a sassy calico cat, all rescues, of my own. I have a lot of compassion for animals and treat them like members of the family, albeit spoiled ones. My goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible while their human(s) are gone. I am comfortable with cats and small to large dogs at any energy level. My neighbors, vet, and friends can provide references, if needed. I work in education, so my summer schedule is wide open. Nights, weekends, and some holidays are possible during the school year. I am able to check in, walk, stay overnight, etc. In your home, I will follow the instructions given and take pictures to let you know your pets are well taken care of. My goal is to make them as comfortable as possible while their humans are away.

About: I have several years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. Since I was 15 years old, I have worked with rescue animals, helping provide daily care, socialization, and support as they transitioned into permanent homes. This experience taught me how to work with pets of different ages, temperaments, and needs. I currently have a dog of my own and have experience pet sitting for both dogs and cats. My roommate has two cats, and I regularly help care for them as well. My experience includes feeding, maintaining routines, providing exercise and enrichment, cleaning litter boxes, and ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I take pride in being reliable, attentive, and treating every pet as if they were my own. I have a very flexible schedule and several days off throughout the week. My work hours can vary from day to day, so I’m able to move things around and accommodate your pet’s needs whenever possible. I’m happy to work with your schedule and provide consistent, reliable care. I have a fenced yard and one friendly dog who loves having company. Your pet can enjoy a safe, comfortable home environment, and I’m also happy to provide care in your home if that’s what works best.

About: I volunteered at Forsyth Humane Society for 3 1/2 years. I also fostered for multiple shelters. I have worked with many different breeds, big and small. I currently have 2 large boys, 3 medium sized girls and 1 small girl, of my own. I am a certified dog trainer. I have experience working with dogs with special needs (physical), behavioral issues and other specific situations that require special attention or instruction, making me a trustworthy care taker for dogs who require special accommodations (dogs needing to be kept separate, leash pullers, feeding separately, dogs fearful/anxious of new people, dogs who simply need someone to take time to earn their trust or who need their normal routine followed.) I am not just your average sitter, safety is priority and I understand every household has different needs and requirements. I am comfortable and happy to work with dogs of any breed or size I own my own business, so I make my own schedule. I can be flexible. I currently have time in the mornings or late afternoon/evenings for drop in visits I have multiple crates for dogs in my house. I also have kennels outdoors for my dogs to play during the day, which are covered. I will be sure to follow any instructions you may have for your pet. I will ensure to establish a connection with your pets so that they become familiar with me and comfortable and take the time to learn things they do and do not like or activities that they may enjoy doing.

About: If you need caring, compassionate, reliable, loving service for your furry sweethearts I am available to make them the center of attention. With me they get a bit of a holiday themselves. My work takes me oceanside for extended periods: so when I’m available to house/pet sit for you, I am devoted to all their needs. Presently I am auntie to several cats and dogs that for more than a decade I have been house/pet sitting. I have also cared for horses, goats, chickens, geese and peacocks. I love learning animal’s individual personalities and ingratiating myself in to their familial pack. In my life I have owned a German Shepherd, a Malinois and a Husky as well as numerous cats. I grew up walking the dog, so I prefer to exercise the canines regularly. Playtime for everyone will include some brushing. I have no problems giving oral medications or injections. And I have cared for sick animals of my own as well as others. My entry in to your home will be with complete respect, integrity and detailed consideration. My references will tell you how I am attentive not only to your pets but your home: be it garden or plant care, and most especially having your home be as if you had never left upon your return.

About: I love all animals, but dogs are my favorite! I raised a miniature schnauzer for 15 years (RIP Dooney). I now have a senior rescue named, Layla Grayce. I’ve volunteered at many animal shelters and have fostered dogs as well. I will love your fur baby just as they were my own! Thank you for trusting me and allowing me the opportunity to look after your fur baby 💕🐶🐱😊 I work remotely from home. This flexibility allows me to make myself available as needed for your pets needs. I will honor your pups schedule for all feedings, walks, and potty breaks. Layla would be a great companion for your pup as she is gentle and calm. At bedtime, I can crate your pup or allow them to roam my home. I will give them the attention they deserve while doing my best to make sure they feel safe and at home. I’ll also take photos and provide frequent updates while I care for your fur baby :)

About: There are very few times in my life that I haven’t owned a dog. I grew up with dogs and my husband and I currently own one dog- a big lovable knuckle head who will love to meet your dog. We have a fenced in yard with plenty of opportunities for play time. I both currently work from home, so I am able to dedicate a lot of time and supervision to your dog! I have always had a family dog growing up. I have a lot of experience with dogs from all walks of life - puppies, geriatrics, to hands on health needs. My dog Gus is very friendly and loves to play. He is very open to visitors and new friends! Please feel free to contact me at any point if you have any questions. I work from home 3-4 days per week so I have the capability of full time supervision and frequent potty or outside breaks. I work a normal 8-5 job. My back yard is fully fenced in so no chance of escape. We also have a back door that leads directly to the back yard. I have two dogs of my own I care for so adding an additional dog doesn’t change much for me so long as your dog isn’t nervous around big dogs. I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to host dogs at my house or go for walks. I have flexibility over the days I have to go in to the office. Our home is very easy going. My dog is a free feeder, allowed on furniture, beds, and gets human scraps. We have a fenced in yard for space to run around off leash.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
