“Kendall was super responsive and helped watch Jasper and house sit with short notice. He is a bit shy but Kendall was sensitive to his needs. Thanks for taking care of my sweet little guy!”

“Bobbie went above and beyond in the care of my to dog Ollie. It snowed while I was gone and she even shoveled my driveway and walk which was much appreciated. Bobbie did a great job and definitely will call on her again to care for Ollie .”

“Mark was amazing with our two dogs. Our dogs went on several long walks, enjoyed playing in the back yard with their Mark’s dog and loved all the lap time and belly rubs that Mark gave them. Mark was great with sending pictures and videos of our puppies while we were gone, too. We’ll definitely pick Mark again and we’d highly recommend Mark to you.”

“Ava watched our dog William for us while we were gone for a summer vacation and did a wonderful job! William had a great time with her and she kept him busy and happy, while also providing us updated while we were gone. Excellent dog/house sitter!”

“Maddie was great with Meatball and sent us pictures of him throughout our trip. He can get really down when we are away, but he seemed to be very happy to spend time with Maddie. We came home to a clean house and a happy pup! We will definitely be booking with Maddie in the future!”

About: I have recent hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments in professional settings. I also have a lifetime of experience as a dog and cat owner and lover! As a doggy daycare employee, I've safely managed groups of dogs in daycare, supervised structured play, monitored body language to prevent conflicts, and provided individualized care based on each dog's needs and personality. I also work as a dog handler for a professional goose management company, where I handle border collies in outdoor environments while maintaining focus, safety, and reliable leash skills around wildlife, distractions, and changing conditions. This work has strengthened my confidence handling energetic working dogs in public spaces. My experience includes: - Supervising group play and monitoring canine body language - Individual walks and exercise - Feeding, fresh water, and medication support with instructions - Cleaning kennels and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment - Crate rotations and rest breaks - Reinforcing good manners with positive interactions - Caring for puppies, senior dogs, and high-energy breeds I love every dog like it is my own and am ready to take care of your loved one when needed! My schedule is generally very flexible! I do have a few shorter recurring commitments during the weekdays, but I have availability before and after them, as well as on evenings and weekends. If you're looking for care on a specific day or time, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to work with you to find something that fits both of our schedules whenever possible. I always try to keep pets on the routine they're most comfortable with. Whether I'm in your home or caring for your pet during a walk or drop-in visit, I'll follow your instructions for feeding, medications, potty breaks, exercise, and any special needs or preferences. I believe consistency helps pets feel safe and relaxed while you're away. My professional experience in dog daycare has taught me to pay close attention to body language, energy levels, and individual personalities. Some dogs want to play nonstop, while others just want a calm companion and a good walk. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I'll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, enrichment, and affection while also keeping safety my top priority. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Grace was wonderful with my very high energy dog! Despite it being super cold outside, she was able to exercise him well. I came home to a happy, tired pup that slept all night. She was incredibly kind and flexible, and I’d absolutely book her again!”

“Claire was great! She stayed at our home for the weekend and took great care of our 1.5 year old Boston. We loved getting photos and videos throughout the weekend of our pup. This was our first Rover experience and Claire made it very smooth and worry free! ?”

“Jennifer was wonderful! She kept us updated each day with a description of their activities and pics and videos. During our ‘ meet and greet’ she had a regular checklist that she went over with us to make sure she understood our pup, his needs and his environment. I appreciate her kindness and care.”

“Hallejia was an amazing dog sitter. She and Willow got along great. I attribute that to her coming and meeting Willow ahead of time and taking her time to get to know her. Hallejia is very attentive, caring and kind. I loved her the moment I met her which made me feel comfortable leaving Willow. She familiarized herself with Willow’s routine and habits. And Halleija is so flexible. I had to change some things at the last minute and she was so accommodating. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to sit for Willow!”

“Evie took good care of our pups in our home while we were on vacation for over a week. She was quick to adjust her schedule to accommodate our dogs needs and communicated regularly.”

“Natalie was amazing! She came over to meet my dogs prior to her stay and they loved her instantly (I have one shy dog so this was surprising!). She sent me so many pictures/updates while I was gone which was great. I would ask her again and again to care for my dogs, and highly recommend her to others!”

“Staci was absolutely amazing with our babies. She cuddled them and gave them as much love as we do when we are home. She also kept me in the loop with their day, schedules and activities while we were gone, not to mention the overload of adorable pictures we received. Staci truly is a wonderful sitter and has this love for animals that is apparent when you meet her. We will for sure be booking her in the future to sit with our loves!!”

“Alexa was wonderful to work with! She stayed over night with our two Labrador retrievers and was phenomenal! Alexa made sure our house was clean and in order for when we arrived back. She was on time, communicated with us, and went above and beyond! We will definitely be utilizing her services again and our dogs loved being with her!”

“Jess was an AWESOME day sitter. Communication was top notch, and they provided us with lots of pictures and videos. We knew our pup was safe and well loved all day. Will be booking again!”

About: As I've grown up I have taken care of my three family's pets (two dogs and one cat). Additionally, I've also occasionally assisted my neighbors in taking care of the pets as well. I am very comfortable in working with new pets and will work my best to provide them with the care that each one of them needs. I am currently in an internship where I am working full-time. I am mostly available in weeknights and weekends to take care of your pet. Further, I will work with you to find the best care that will fit your pet's needs as well as my schedule. I am willing to stay overnight at client's houses so that your pets feel more comfortable. Otherwise, I am willing to check in on your pets throughout the day so that they are not left alone for long periods of time. I will work with you to determine what is best for your needs and your pets.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Holland
Grace was wonderful with my dog Doyle. I was so worried leaving him for 8 days since we’ve never been apart. After meeting Grace I knew it would be okay. Grace sent pictures and updates everyday on what they were doing like going to the park. She also stayed at my house which was immaculate when I got home. Doyle had so much fun with Grace that when I got home his dog thought was “why are you home so soon and where’s Grace” Best dog sitter ever. 10 ++++++++
Madalyn was amazing with my two dogs!! She stayed over at my house for 3 nights while I was on vacation and I can’t say enough good things about her! My two dogs can be a handful at times lol but she was great with them! She always kept me updated with pictures and videos to make sure they were well taken care of. She even let the dogs sleep with her which I would never expect anyone to do so! She’s genuinely such a sweet girl, I could tell that as soon as we met. 10/10!! Highly recommend!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Holland on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 357 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Holland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Holland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Holland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Holland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Holland. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
