“Kendall did an excellent job watching our pets (two dogs and a cat) for a week. She would go outside with our dogs multiple times a day, and kept everyone fed and entertained, which is no small task with our high maintenance, routine oriented cat. We came back to three happy, healthy pets thanks to Kendall. Would definitely book with Kendall again.”
“Bobbie was a revolutionary sitter. We’ve never had such good communication and trust with someone we didn’t know. She took the best care of our kids and house. We came home to a clean home with clean sheets and was so flexible when our plane was delayed by 5 hours coming home. We will be using her for everything and every trip forever on moving forward!!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Claire made it so easy! We were able to do a meet & greet beforehand and she was very communicative throughout the stay. She had no issues caring for our special needs dog and all 3 pets loved her. Thanks Claire!”

“Grace was wonderful with my very high energy dog! Despite it being super cold outside, she was able to exercise him well. I came home to a happy, tired pup that slept all night. She was incredibly kind and flexible, and I’d absolutely book her again!”

“Mark was wonderful with our Loki and made both him and us very comfortable while we were gone. He communicated frequently and sent us pictures everyday. This was our first experience with rover and we couldn’t have asked for better. Will be using him again without a doubt!”

“My 2 senior dogs loved Maggie and Travis! We are grateful to have such a nice couple close to our home. They also responded quickly after my first inquiry on Rover and showed up short notice the next day. Very happy for our connection and will use them often.”

About: I have an Alaskan malamute so dog hair don't care. And dog walks are like a period in a sentence. I'd love to meet more doggies. I am currently the driver of my family but I can fit whatever you need into my schedule to always be there to help out. I clean litter boxes regularly in my own home and change water filters on the water fountains my cats have. I take my dog for walks whenever he wants to go.
About: While I specialize in cat sitting and absolutely adore caring for feline companions, I'm also happy to help with dog sitting for friendly, well-trained pups. I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions and making sure your furry friend feels comfortable and cared for while you're away. I am also well versed in the care of our smaller companions such as birds, reptiles, rodents, ferrets and rabbits to name a few. I'm happy to work around your pet's unique needs whether it's regular visits or last-minute plans, although it would also need to work with my work schedule. Your pet's comfort and routine always come first so I'm sure we can work something out. I do require an in-person meet and greet before confirming any new booking. This helps ensure your pet feels comfortable and we're a great fit! As a proud cat mom, I care for my cats with a lot of love, patience, and attention to detail. Each of them has their own personality and needs, so I make sure their routines are consistent, their environment feels safe, and they get both playtime and quiet comfort. From feeding and litter box cleaning to brushing and cozy cuddle time, I treat them like family because to me, they are.
“Jennifer was WONDERFUL. This is the first time we’ve left our two dogs with someone we didn’t know and we were very nervous. Jennifer completely put our mind at ease and sent us pictures/updates daily while we were gone. She stayed in our home and left it spotless. I would absolutely book Jennifer again for our pups!”

“Evie did an amazing job taking care of our two Frenchie and cat over the holiday weekend. Our house was clean and everything was in order. We would definitely hire her again!”

“I was disappointed when the sitter we used the last time we were out of town wasn’t active anymore and had to find someone new. From the initial contact and then through the stay Sierra was very prompt with her responses and professional. She was anxious to come meet us and our dogs before hiring her, which really put me at ease. She asked a lot of questions to get to know the dogs and their routine and was more than happy to work with the schedule we were looking for. I would hire her again in an instant.”
About: I have watched professional trainers train many dogs and have trained both of my dogs alongside of them. I have a medium and large dog and I am comfortable with all sizes. I am a college student who is home for the summer. That being said my availability is open! I would love to spend my free time with your pets! I will always ensure the home is left in the same condition as I arrived in. I will chat with you about neighboring dogs/animals to be aware of and any of your concerns.
“Natalie was amazing! She came over to meet my dogs prior to her stay and they loved her instantly (I have one shy dog so this was surprising!). She sent me so many pictures/updates while I was gone which was great. I would ask her again and again to care for my dogs, and highly recommend her to others!”

About: From a very young age, caring for animals has been a natural part of my life. When I was eight years old, I started small home-placement program for pets abandoned along rural roads, making sure they found safe, loving homes. With the help of a local veterinarian, I also cared for injured wildlife-nursing animals hit by cars to health and raising many of their orphaned babies. Growing up on a farm gave me hands on experience with a wide range of species and taught me how to read body language, build trust and stay calm in any situation. Many of the local farmers trusted me to take care of their livestock and four-legged family members while they went on vacation. Over the years I have continued my skills through veterinary medicine studies, reiki, pet massage therapy and a deep interest in natural, holistic care. These experiences shaped me into a patient, intuitive, and knowledgeable caregiver who understands animals on a deeper level and treats every pet with respect, gentleness and consistency. II currently work part‑time on weekdays and am free every day after 1 p.m., as well as fully available on weekends. I’m happy to walk, play with, and feed your pets, and I’m comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather as long as your pet is, too. I don’t mind helping with cleanup—whether that’s backyard potty messes, litter boxes, or small‑animal cages—so your pet’s space stays fresh and comfortable while you’re away. When I’m caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping everything as familiar and consistent as possible. I follow your pet’s normal routine closely—mealtimes, walks, playtime, medications, and comfort habits—so their day feels predictable and stress‑free. I take time to learn their cues, respect their boundaries, and match their energy, whether they need quiet companionship or active engagement. I keep your home environment clean and safe by refreshing water, tidying feeding areas, cleaning litter boxes or small‑animal cages, and wiping up any potty messes in the yard. I also make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure and that your pet has everything they need before I leave. My goal is to maintain the same level of care, calm, and attention they’re used to when you’re home.
“Megan wonderfully with our older dog Fiona, she was very good with communicating with me when we were on our trip! We received pictures and videos so we could still see our old girl while we were away. When there was an issue she was quick to let us know and reassured us that Fiona was OK (my poor pup has a nervous belly).”

“Outstanding sitter for our two, active dogs. Great communication while we were away. Sent pictures. Asked questions to clarify instructions. A++ and will definitely use again!”

“Jess was an AWESOME day sitter. Communication was top notch, and they provided us with lots of pictures and videos. We knew our pup was safe and well loved all day. Will be booking again!”

“Cindie was absolutely wonderful to work with and Bubbles LOVED her. She stayed in my home with him and it all worked out perfectly. She is a seasoned sitter, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing while away! Highly recommend Cindie!”

Madalyn was amazing with my two dogs!! She stayed over at my house for 3 nights while I was on vacation and I can’t say enough good things about her! My two dogs can be a handful at times lol but she was great with them! She always kept me updated with pictures and videos to make sure they were well taken care of. She even let the dogs sleep with her which I would never expect anyone to do so! She’s genuinely such a sweet girl, I could tell that as soon as we met. 10/10!! Highly recommend!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Holland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Holland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Holland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Holland. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
