“Great reliable dog walker lovely young lady”

“I just started having Holly walk my dog Franklin and it has been a great experience. Franklin is very nervous around new people and tends to be territorial in our home so I had Holly come over one day while I was home and we went on a walk together. The two days this week she came it seemed like Franklin was warming up to her and really enjoying the walks. She sends me pictures of their walks which I really enjoy. I am excited to continue having Holly walk him. ”

About: I just graduated from the University of Maine studying animal sciences on the pre vet track. I have had animals my whole life but since I have gotten here I have began to work with other animals such as cows and horses. I currently have a job working at a farm. However the job allows me to have a pretty flexible schedule that allows me to take care of animals outside of the farm. I also take care of a family’s horses and someone’s dog. For my clients I feed their animals and let them out on a walk. For the horses I feed them, clean there stalls and let them out to run around.

“Cassandra was great with my two dogs. She got to know them a little and played in the yard before taking them on their walk. She took lots of pictures and gave me a good summary of the visit! She was easy to communicate with and I was relieved that my dogs were taken care of while I was stuck at work for a long day. Her background in animal care/behavior just raises my confidence in her care even more. I will absolutely consider he again for future needs.”

About: Interacting with animals is a form of therapy I feel very privileged to experience. Dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and arachnids have had a place in my life for as long as I can remember. I have done pet sitting for family, friends, and mutual contacts, and I have enjoyed helping owners maintain/establish a better relationship with their animals. Throughout my life, I have received training on how to identify various medical emergencies. This training consists of: allergic reactions, blood glucose emergencies, breathing problems, burns, car accidents, choking, CPR (for both cats and dogs), eye emergencies, electric shock, frostbite, heat-related emergencies, heart-related emergencies, hypothermia, poisoning, seizures, smoke inhalation, urinary blockage, and various wound care. A large portion of this training comes from the American Red Cross, as well as unfortunate firsthand experience. I have knowledge of animal behavior factors and the methods used to curb said behaviors. Your pet will not be met with frustration from me, but instead, met with an understanding of their needs and how those needs can be met. I have three (3) years of experience in handling dogs and cats with insulin dependence, as well as handling dogs and cats with special needs. I have five (5) years of experience working with service dogs whose owners are wheelchair bound and unable to leave their apartments. Animal handling is my calling, and I intend to do it full-time. Whatever your needs for your pet, rain or shine, I consider spending time with your fur-baby an honor. I am not employed in the traditional sense. Due to a few medical conditions, I work best with your fur baby and you! Due to one of the aforementioned health conditions, I am not available for any service before 12pm/noon (12:00). 12pm to 10pm (12:00-22:00) is when any and all services are available, Sunday through Friday. I will gladly work every holiday except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Exceptions can absolutely be made depending on time of notice and services requested. When I'm not working on your obedience, walking, or sitting needs, I find myself tending to the garden (flowers and vegetables galore!), working on commissions for various crafts I've picked up over the years, or going hiking with my husband. Do not hesitate to inquire with whatever you may need! Upon meeting you and your fur baby, we will discuss the following: how frequently you would like updates, emergency contacts for friends/family that are aware of my visit should an emergency arise, medication needs/procedures, pet anxieties, client preferred contact method/information, exercise schedule, when treats are allowed, reward systems for good behavior, meal times and frequencies, expectations of maintaining pet proofing in your home, preventing escapes, command words for chosen or existing obedience training, and emergency contact information with address for your preferred vet. My number one goal in providing these services is achieving a convenient yet comprehensive service.

“Justin and Eva were very happy and enthusiastic about meeting my dog, Bruce. They listened to all my recommendations and did a successful 1 hour walk, even in the rain! Very pleasant people to work with.”

About: I've had pets my whole life and, in the last 15 years, have rescued, fostered, and re-homed dozens of cats, working with Save Our Strays and Trisha Bruen in the Bangor area. I've been petsitting that long as well, for dogs, cats, and rabbits. I love every animal like my own. I'm mature and responsible and respectful of privacy/property. I work full time weekdays at UMaine, but can do drop-in care mornings, noons (if needed), and evenings. Walking dogs is a great way for me to get some exercise as well! I am not doing care in my own home now (I rent, and have two cats of my own), but in clients' and friends' homes, I am perfectly happy to follow all instructions for pet care, feeding, attention, and exercise, and happy to do a few extra tasks such as plant watering and picking up mail for those out of town.

About: With over 13 years of hands-on pet care experience, I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment for all pets. My schedule is quite flexible, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for your pets. I work part-time at a farm on Tuesday evenings for a handful of hours. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for your beloved animals, whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home. Plus, she’s a fun, nice and smart person! Bonus.”
