I grew up surrounded by family pets. Whenever my parents went out for vacations I would stay at their house to spend time and care for their pets. From walks to feeding and quality time snuggles; I've been blessed to care for and love the beautiful creatures we've been graced to be in companionship with. I don't have any special training, but I love animals and will treat your family with as much care as I would treat my own. I can't wait to meet and care for your animals as well! I don't have a place of my own to take care of pets. However, I have taken care of pets in other houses quite often over the years. Your house is your safe place. As someone who is introverted, I know how important a safe place is. With that in mind, I will treat your home with same respect and sanctity that I treat my own if I visit to care for your little ones. Any rules and/or guidelines for your property, I will follow to the best of my abilities to ensure you come back to the same, if not better home than you left from. With regard to your pets at home, you can tell me freely what things there are to keep in mind. The more I know about your pet, the better quality of service I can provide you and your pet with. About: I saved my Chihuahua, Thistle, from a kill shelter when he was 18 months old. I nursed him through being hit by a car, helped him gain weight from being underfed, and encouraged him to be a confident dog (he was extremely anxious) through training and gentle love and care. My Chihuahua is now a senior dog, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how active he is! He gets lots of walks and play time, and he loves it best when I get on the floor with him. I am comfortable getting to know your pet and giving them the level and type of attention that they need! I looked into breed specific care, and Chihuahuas have weaker joints, so I put him on a joint supplement right when I got him, and it has really made a difference in his mobility and quality of life. It’s important to administer care to animals in the specific way that is best for them! I would show the same consideration to your pet. That includes factoring in their temperament. As my dog has gotten older, his needs around personal boundaries have increased, so I make sure to check in with him before petting him, picking him up, or otherwise touching him, and I do not touch him if he gives me a no, except in an actual emergency (i.e. the animal could be hurt or hurt someone else if I do not touch them). Instead, I do something else and check in again later. This allows me to establish a real felt sense of safety and trust with your pet. I also had cats all growing up, and have a real affection for them, as well as a clear understanding of their boundaries. I would be honored to care for your pet family just as I care for mine! I currently freelance, which means I have the freedom to take care of your pets whenever you need me to. I can be flexible to your needs. As my dog is a people’s dog and not a dog’s dog, I offer my services in your home. I can walk your pet, do a drop-in visit, or housesit!
