Mia was great!! We recently hired her for a walk so my pup could get to know her a bit before an upcoming house sit. She's been prompt with responding, right on time for the walk and super patient with my dog who is very wary of strangers. Highly recommend! :)

About: HELLO! I have been taking care of all kinds of dogs from pups to senior pets who have special needs. I have done stuff like this ever since I was in middle school. I am very flexible with my time. I do have a cat allergy but that won’t stop me from that either! I’m always here to help you’re best friend 😊 Im very flexible with my schedule for a couple months! I can do early mornings to late nights. I’m always able to help with anything! I’m very detail oriented and need straightforward instructions in order to properly care for a pet. The more straightforward the instructions the better! I treat any pet as if they were my own. Maybe a chance to spoil with my special frozen pet friendly watermelon slush for the hot summer days? Or a little trip to get a pup cup? My dogs are spoiled and I miss them so much so this would be a win-win for the both of us 🤣

Hound has been great with our dogs and they seem relaxed and happy when we get home. Manages the needs of our very old husky and young border collie mix very well so they both get the attention and exercise they need.

About: When I was younger I started my own dog walking business, as of lately I thought about going back to my roots. Although I haven’t owned dogs throughout my life, I’ve definitely taken care of them for friends and family and I can promise you I will help meet the needs of your dog whatever they may be! I work as an RN, but have a lot of random weekdays and weekends off. I’m looking to stay busy this summer now that I’m not in school. I will respect the environment that I am in. About: I have taken care of dogs as large as an Italian Mastiff and as small as mini schnauzers. I am comfortable and confident with handling dogs of all temperaments. I currently go to college full time. I only have classes in the mornings, so my days are pretty open to spend time with dogs or take them on walks. I currently have 4 mini schnauzers at home and provide them with a safe and loving environment. I would bring that same care for your beloved pet.

About: I’ve raised my two adopted puppies and created a safe home for both of them. All the vet visits and training and spending time together on walks helped me learn a lot about them and allowed me to show them that humans can be kind. They have their own personalities and needs. The dog treadmill keeps their stress and anxiety levels low. I groom and trim their claws. I’ve been training my dogs day to day and it never stops amusing me how smart they are. I am currently working part-time and spending time with dogs helps time go by. Weekends are always open. Obviously there are chores to take care of the house but there is always time to tend to the furry friends. I cared for my dogs when they were sick following vets instructions to give certain medications to my dogs. Adopting a dog always comes with challenges and we have overcome many of them. At home I have four rooms and two floors and a fenced backyard. I have three crates and one giant crate. I only use them if I need to run an errand or take care of myself away from the dogs. I try to ventilate the house an much as possible, frequently clean the house and make sure that my pets stay safe, healthy and happy.

About: Hi! My name is Ava. I am a lifelong animal lover who has been caring for animals since I was 13 years old. I have previous experience in working at a dog boarding/daycare facility, so i’m comfortable with animals of all ages, size, personality, demeanor, and energy levels— Yes, that includes your shy, grumpy pup or your high-energy goofball! My experience includes monitoring behavior, administering medications, exercise, enrichment activities, basic grooming and bathing services, and ensuring a safe, positive environment for your loved one. I am very passionate about animals and am currently working towards a career in dog training and rehabilitation. Each animal I meet is an opportunity to learn and grow. I foster an honest, thorough, detailed communication style. As a pet owner, you deserve to know what’s going on with your pet while you’re away. I love to leave little report cards and send you silly pictures to let you know what’s they’ve been up to! Whether your pet needs a winter walk, some playtime, a little extra patience, to just be checked in on, or a cozy buddy to hangout with— I’ve got you covered. I look forward to meeting your sweet furry friends! I am available most days of the week, but sometimes am gone to visit family in the cities. This will be reflected in my availability and if there are conflicts with scheduling due to me not being home, I make sure to let you know before you book. :) Bringing a random stranger into your home can be anxiety producing, as I have had to do the same thing with my dog. I want to give you as much information about me as possible to mitigate some of that anxiety! I am an open book, and will make sure to continue my communication with you about your pet while you’re gone. As in terms of your pets safety, this is my number one priority—and i’m assuming you’ve heard that from everyone. But with my experience with being a PCA, keeping a yard full of 20+ dogs safe is not something you can negotiate. Animal behavior and body language has always been fascinating to me- which means I am constantly monitoring how your dog is feeling based on how they are presenting to me. I work with your dog to meet their energy and activity needs, as this is also important to their/my safety. If your dog is more active, I love to take them out for walks or take them to a secluded park to get some of that out! ;) In terms of home safety, I request that you just give me detailed information on how to lock things up (doors, rooms, garage, fences, cabinets) so I make sure to keep your animal where they should be, and have access to things they are allowed to. If you ever have any questions about anything, PLEASE ask. There are never too many questions when it comes to making sure your loved one will be safe and properly taken care of.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your High Forest. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in High Forest.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in High Forest. On Rover:

  • 82% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
