“Butters and I had a great experience with Kimberly, our Good Pup trainer. First- the fact that these classes were FaceTimed made it possible for Butters to work with a trainer one on one. Butters learned to go to her spot which was so helpful since she demands a lot of attention. When I am done petting her and she will not stop pawing me for more, I tell her to go to her spot and she does! We discovered that Butters excels at waiting before given permission to eat a treat. This is useful for her self-control because it keeps her from jumping and knocking things out of my hands when I am trying to fill her bowls or open a bag of treats! The third and most life-changing learning from training was leave it. Butters loves to greet every person that she encounters on her daily walks. Some people are not dog fans (I know, what’s wrong with them??) and when I sense someone coming towards us that may not be a Butter-lover, I tell Butters to sit and as the person approaches, I tell her to leave it and she looks at me instead of her potential friend and she gets a treat. Win-win! In addition to all of these benefits, practicing the lessons gave Butters and me a chance to work together and accomplish goals that helped our bonding and provided many opportunities for her to receive positive reinforcement and Butters got a lot more treats.”
“Our experience with Good pup was great. We had a puppy that needed help training and we were at a lost on where to start and what to do. We tried looking up stuff ourselves but it didn't always work. We decided to try good pup because of reviews and the price and was so worth it. We were able to did it virtually and on our schedule and was able to get our pup the training she needed. Now she is trained for the most part. She is a Corgi and is stubborn but overall she does very well.”
