“If you're ever unsure of leaving your animals, just leave it to Enya! She is a rockstar and we are so relieved to have found a petsitter that takes care of our babies as her own. Our rescue dog has high anxiety when separated from her humans, and we were nervous leaving her for the first time. She took a few days to warm up but Enya was gentle, patient, and considerate of her space and boundaries. By day two, our dog came around. Our cats absolutely adored her from the start and seemed to get along better for her than they ever have for us! Enya kept us updated on the regular and is quick to respond / shift care as needed. Our place was left exactly as she found it, and she even went above and beyond to make our animals' spots around the house even cozier. No need to look further, Enya is your girl!”

“It was my first time using Rover and Rachel made sure it was a good experience. She clarified any needs for the dogs, asked what was acceptable to not cross any boundaries already set, and made sure they had an enjoyable day. Couldn’t be happier to have them watched by her. Would recommend her if you need a sitter.”

“Kaylee is one of my favorite dog sitters! She took great care of my dog and kept me informed at all times. I trust her fully with my dog and I am so happy that I got a chance to have her as my sitter.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was a little tot. From cats to dogs, I do it all. When leaving your pet with me I will make sure to take top tier care of your baby. As I know how nerve racking it can be to leave them when you’re away. I will send updates daily to give you a peace of mind that they are in good spirits. Look forward to meeting your fur baby. <3 My day to day schedule is very flexible so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet(s). Whether you need someone full or part time. When caring for pets in your home I love written instructions, but can easily adapt if there are none. If wet outside I will let them out to go to the bathroom then dry their fur before letting them enter the home.
“Dusty took great care of our fur babies and our home. She sent pictures and updates throughout the time that we were gone. Everything was as we left it when we returned. I will definitely rebook with her! She is great!”

“If you are looking for someone who is loving, caring, and will give you peace of mind when it comes to providing care for your pets, Emily is your girl! She was so attentive and cared for our pups like they were her own. She had great communication and provided updates everyday. I am so thankful for her!”

“Tamera was great and our fur babies were well taken care of. This was our first time with a home sitter and our first time using Tamera. She was attentive and provided us with regular updates and pics. We will definitely continue to work with her in the future!”

About: I have worked at Petsmart before. At Petsmart we are required to know what makes a dog comfortable while at a public place or somewhere other than home. I have watched over puppies 2 and 3 months old for my in laws a couple times now. My parents got a kitten that I helped take care of till I moved out about 10 months later. I own a chinchilla which is an exotic small animal. I’ve had her for a year. I’ve been fascinated by pets since I was a child and always do my research before taking care of an animal. I look forward to being of assistance. I fluctuate between part time and full time. I’m usually free tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I can schedule the time off if it’s 3 or 4 weeks in advance. I usually work mornings except for mondays, when I work evenings. I can always visit the pup or kitty during break and then spend the rest of the day with them after work. This will most likely be temporary until I can get a solid schedule here or at Home Depot. My apartment complex is very pet friendly. My building is only a few steps away from a dog park inside of the complex. The clubhouse has dog treats and I can provide as well based on age and diet. I will always ask any questions about what you would prefer for your fur baby. I have a chinchilla that stays in a cage as long as your pet is around. She is curious and will not hurt your pet even if they stick a paw in between the bars, which is hard to do anyways. My living room is a large space for any pet. I’m currently working part time, but I’m willing to do weekly stays with 2-3 weeks in advance notice. I also will require meet ups before every service in a public place. This is not going to be required for existing clients. I live in an apartment so I don’t currently own any pets, but everyone in my direct and extended family either has, or has had one that I’ve grown up with. I’m very familiar with animal routines and attributes. If something is bothering your pet, I will notice. I always keep in constant contact with whoever I petsit or help take care of for anything I may notice. Most of the time it’s things owners are already aware of, but I’ve always found it never hurts to ask and inform.
“Paydence was wonderful. She communicated throughout the visit and was so respectful of my house. I came back to a very well cared for pup and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an A+ sitter.”

“Alice was amazing! Her communication throughout the day was stellar, she was always swift to respond my texts and sent photos and videos at consistent morning, afternoon evening milestones. All those efforts really allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing my little one was in good hands. I will definitely be a regular.”

About: I have 20+ years working with and loving animals. Love to be outside walking and love taking a dog for a nice stroll to enjoy the great outdoors. I live in the country on 3 acres, plenty of space to run and my entire property is fenced to keep pets safe. I love dogs and cats and have some of my own that are my family. I know how hard it is to trust others with your pets so I wanted to offer my services as your pets would be well cared for and treated just like my own. I’ve volunteered at an ASPCA and have fostered pets as well as been in the medical field so I know how important proper care and trust are. I can come to your home, within a reasonable distance to care for your pets. They will always be safe and well cared for. I am available anytime per my calendar on Rover, please check it for updates. It is subject to change and I will do my best to update it I have a fenced in yard that is inspected monthly and if caring for your pet in your home or simply just walking your pet, I can do a meet and greet with your pet(s) to be sure I would be a good fit.
“Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! I’m an animal lover who grew up with both a female and a male dog, both about 8 years old. Recently, our third dog passed away at 16 due to some age-related health complications, so I have experience with senior dogs as well. I also have both a female and a male cat that are about 12 and 5 years old, respectively. I have experience pet-sitting for both family and neighbors. I’ve pet-sat small dogs, such as a French bulldog and a Boston terrier, as well as larger breeds, such as an American yellow Labrador and a Great Dane. All the friends and family members I have pet sat for have cats as well. I’m currently between jobs as I’m transitioning to studying for a graduate school entrance exam. My schedule is open and will revolve around your fur babies. I’m a morning person, but I will gladly take evening walks. I'm mainly looking for dog-walking opportunities, but I am open to short-term pet sitting. I do have my cat at my apartment, so I would only be able to do drop-in visits and walks otherwise.

Assure that the dog/ is secure in their cage and/or comfortable in their environment before leaving.
“Sheridan was the absolute best. We booked her last minute and she immediately got back to me to tell me she’d do it. I’m very anxious about strangers staying in our home and I have never left the dogs with a sitter. She updated us with pictures and videos every day and multiple times in the day. She took care of our home, and my pups were in great hands. She was the sweetest person and I’m so glad we booked her. When we go out of town again we will most definitely be booking with Sheridan again.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with daily walks, feeding schedules, bathing, playtime, and overnight care. I’m comfortable with puppies who need extra attention as well as senior pets who require patience and gentle care. I truly love animals and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is an important part of my daily routine, even while working Monday through Friday from 8 to 5. I make time every morning and evening to feed, clean, play with, and check on my senior cat to ensure she’s comfortable and well cared for. I’m very organized with schedules and understand how important consistency is for pets, especially seniors. On weekends and during free time, I focus on giving extra attention, exercise, and companionship. Balancing work and pet care has made me dependable, attentive, and committed to providing quality care every day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their specific routines and instructions closely to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. This includes feeding on schedule, refreshing water, walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes or outdoor areas, administering basic care if needed, and providing plenty of playtime and companionship. I make sure the home is kept tidy and secure, and I always monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel at ease while they’re away. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hawk Cove
Staci is a wonderful house and dog sitter! Highly recommend! She is conscientious and a good communicator. Since she works remote, she is with my pets most of the day - which gives me peace of mind. She has sat for me for weeks at a time while I was traveling overseas, and I didn't have to worry at all about my dogs or my home. She is great about staying in touch while I'm away. Thank you, Staci, for all your help! My dogs miss you and Oliver xo

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 919 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hawk Cove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hawk Cove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hawk Cove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hawk Cove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hawk Cove. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
