Enya has been walking my mini Aussie weekly for about 2 months now. I can’t say enough great things about her! She recently house/pet sat for me while I was out of the country. I’ve never left my dog and felt more confident that he’s being well looked after than when she was watching him. Thank you so much Enya for loving my dog and making my life so much easier!

About: I have 20+ years working with and loving animals. Love to be outside walking and love taking a dog for a nice stroll to enjoy the great outdoors. I live in the country on 3 acres, plenty of space to run and my entire property is fenced to keep pets safe. I love dogs and cats and have some of my own that are my family. I know how hard it is to trust others with your pets so I wanted to offer my services as your pets would be well cared for and treated just like my own. I’ve volunteered at an ASPCA and have fostered pets as well as been in the medical field so I know how important proper care and trust are. I can come to your home, within a reasonable distance to care for your pets. They will always be safe and well cared for. I am available anytime per my calendar on Rover, please check it for updates. It is subject to change and I will do my best to update it I have a fenced in yard that is inspected monthly and if caring for your pet in your home or simply just walking your pet, I can do a meet and greet with your pet(s) to be sure I would be a good fit.

Erica was prompt, reliable and sweet to our two small pups. We received regular communication from her with photos. The moment we met her we felt confident that our puppies (who are like babies to us) would be well cared for and she exceeded our expectations. I recommend her for sure! Thank you, Erica!

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received this weekend! Leaving your pets with someone else can be stressful, but from the moment we met, I knew they were in great hands. I received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious my babies were well cared for, comfortable, and getting plenty of love and attention. When I came home, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly had a wonderful stay. I truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and genuine love shown to my pets. It’s clear that caring for animals isn’t just a job—it’s something Rachel genuinely enjoys. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Rachel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of my fur babies!

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with daily walks, feeding schedules, bathing, playtime, and overnight care. I’m comfortable with puppies who need extra attention as well as senior pets who require patience and gentle care. I truly love animals and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is an important part of my daily routine, even while working Monday through Friday from 8 to 5. I make time every morning and evening to feed, clean, play with, and check on my senior cat to ensure she’s comfortable and well cared for. I’m very organized with schedules and understand how important consistency is for pets, especially seniors. On weekends and during free time, I focus on giving extra attention, exercise, and companionship. Balancing work and pet care has made me dependable, attentive, and committed to providing quality care every day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their specific routines and instructions closely to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. This includes feeding on schedule, refreshing water, walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes or outdoor areas, administering basic care if needed, and providing plenty of playtime and companionship. I make sure the home is kept tidy and secure, and I always monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel at ease while they’re away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and stress-free in their own home.

About: I have worked at Petsmart before. At Petsmart we are required to know what makes a dog comfortable while at a public place or somewhere other than home. I have watched over puppies 2 and 3 months old for my in laws a couple times now. My parents got a kitten that I helped take care of till I moved out about 10 months later. I own a chinchilla which is an exotic small animal. I’ve had her for a year. I’ve been fascinated by pets since I was a child and always do my research before taking care of an animal. I look forward to being of assistance. I fluctuate between part time and full time. I’m usually free tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I can schedule the time off if it’s 3 or 4 weeks in advance. I usually work mornings except for mondays, when I work evenings. I can always visit the pup or kitty during break and then spend the rest of the day with them after work. This will most likely be temporary until I can get a solid schedule here or at Home Depot. My apartment complex is very pet friendly. My building is only a few steps away from a dog park inside of the complex. The clubhouse has dog treats and I can provide as well based on age and diet. I will always ask any questions about what you would prefer for your fur baby. I have a chinchilla that stays in a cage as long as your pet is around. She is curious and will not hurt your pet even if they stick a paw in between the bars, which is hard to do anyways. My living room is a large space for any pet. I’m currently working part time, but I’m willing to do weekly stays with 2-3 weeks in advance notice. I also will require meet ups before every service in a public place. This is not going to be required for existing clients. I live in an apartment so I don’t currently own any pets, but everyone in my direct and extended family either has, or has had one that I’ve grown up with. I’m very familiar with animal routines and attributes. If something is bothering your pet, I will notice. I always keep in constant contact with whoever I petsit or help take care of for anything I may notice. Most of the time it’s things owners are already aware of, but I’ve always found it never hurts to ask and inform.

About: I am a proud parent of a (king shepherd) named Anubis. I have recently lost my Lacey at her young age of 14 due to cancer. When a friend told me about this adorable puppy she was looking to find a home for who was abused and abandoned by the breeders due to him having flaws, I immediately knew I wanted him when she told me that. My friend showed up to my door with a puppy he was 8 months old and about 110lbs! He is now 150lbs and the happiest pup ever. I am able to choose what shift I want to take at my job therefore I am able to spend my days helping people with their fur babies as much as possible. I have a decent sized back yard, plus I will be home with the fur babies to play with them and walk and feed them.

We have 4 dogs, so it has been hard to find a sitter that is able to handle them all at once, but Samara did an awesome job! From the minute she showed up for the Meet & Greet our dogs fell in love with her. She spent one on one time with each of them during her stay & even bought them some treats that have become their favorites! She was very easy to work with and provided daily updates & pictures as we had requested. Knowing Samara was there made it easy for us to relax while we were away. She truly cared for the pups like they were her own & we can't wait to use her again next time we need a sitter!

FAQs for House Sitting - Alsa

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Alsa on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 596 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alsa. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alsa walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alsa maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alsa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alsa. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
