“Nancy has a huge fenced in yard. Maverick enjoyed his stay and came home tired after playing with the several dogs in Nancy's care. We will book with Nancy again. Thank you!”

About: I have had dogs and cats in my life for over 50 years. I was so lucky to grow up in a home that was the local Noah’s Arc. This childhood formed my commitment and love to animals. About 20 years ago, I decided to enter the world of pure bred dogs and have been an avid exhibitor and breeder of Pointers and Ridgebacks focused always on good temperaments and health. I love dogs and really believe it’s important that each animal I care for, feels at home, comfortable, pampered, exercised and loved. I have 4 dogs that are super casual and it has been very easy to bring animals into my home. I will only take 1 or 2 dogs at a time, as I want to be able to provide the best care possible for them. Your animals are treated as though they are mine and the care and love they will experience can only be exceeded by you. It’s always stressful for animals to be away from their families, so the more I can do to relieve this stress, the better I feel. I always tease my clients that their dogs may come home a little spoiled. I’m very much available all day really to take care of the dogs as my schedule is very flexible. In addition my brother lives with me and he helps me take care of the dogs. There is always a person at our house while your dog will be visiting. I also offer a military discount for those that have or are serving our beautiful country. I do not work outside of the home, which provides me with a lot of flexibility to provide dedicated care to your pets all day. I think it's important dogs that stay at my house receive the same amount of attention as they would at home and as my dogs do. I also believe it's important not to disrupt their daily routine, so I work closely with owners to understand each Dog needs.
“This was my first time leaving Millie with anyone other than family and Clarissa made it such a positive experience for us! So grateful for the peace of mind that came from her sending picture updates throughout the day and seeing how happy and comfortable Millie was in her home. I will definitely be booking with her again!”
About: “Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.”– Orhan Pamuk Peace of mind is everything while you are away. I will provide tons of updates and pictures for you to rest assured your baby is in good hands. Many of my clients return again and again, it’s the greatest compliment! I am a compassionate, flexible, reliable pet sitter that will treat your doggie like family. You can feel secure, knowing your pet is in safe, loving hands while you are away. If your pet requires any type of special needs or medication, you can rely on my experience. I have a house with a fully fenced in back yard. I keep my bookings very limited and only accept overlapping puppers when they’re a calm, proven fit. They will get the extra attention they deserve while also having a couple of canine playmates! I work from home so I am able to give your baby full attention, exercise and snuggles all day every day. They will have plenty of socialization and company. I have always loved animals of every kind. I have taken care of dogs for the past 20 years through myself or friends. I have raised & trained my sweet senior Doberman from 8 weeks old. I also have a rescue, a sweet senior Pomeranian that I have had for the past 11 years. In our free time we love going to the lake, camping, picnics in the parks, car rides, the dog park and the occasional pup cup! We would be thrilled for you to allow us to watch your sweet baby and go on adventures with us! I am always extremely flexible to fit you and your pet’s needs and schedule. I work from home so your fur baby will have constant companionship, mental, and physical exercise! I have a fully fenced in backyard and two very friendly dogs to keep them company and have fun-time playmates. We go out to potty at least every 1-2 hours. I also have a large and small crate for dogs that are crate trained unless you’d like to bring your own. I have a separate fully insured $1M policy for your peace of mind.
“Our dog's stay with Jim went well. When we first arrived, Stella was nervous being in a new home with strange dogs. But Jim quickly put her at ease - she relaxed within a few minutes. Jim is definitely a dog person. When I picked Stella up, she was as happy as could be.”

About: As a trusted home-body I’m always the one to watch family and friends’ pets when they go out of town. And I love it! I’m a freelancer who works from home so my schedule is incredibly flexible. I have more than enough time to play, cuddle, train, take walks, and give your dog all of the attention and care they deserve! I have a large fenced-in backyard and two dogs of my own to keep yours company during their stay. I have one 6 year old chihuahua and one 10-month old rat terrier puppy with plenty of friendly, playful energy. We have tons of toys and treats as well. If they’re kennel-trained, I have a kennel they can feel safe and secure in.
About: I’ve worked with dogs for over 20 years, with much of that time spent walking and handling shelter dogs—especially those that are anxious or unsure. That experience taught me how important calm, structure, and consistency are in helping dogs feel more confident. I run Trail & Heel, a dog training and adventure-based care service in Louisville. I focus on practical, real-world training—whether that’s working with puppies, improving leash manners, or helping nervous dogs build confidence. Every walk and interaction is handled with intention. For me, care and training go hand in hand, with the goal of helping dogs become calmer, more reliable, and easier to live with. I'm a dog trainer, I fit in Rover appointments among by client work when it's possible to do so. Caring for dogs is already part of my everyday life, so it fits naturally into my routine. Care is always tailored to the dog and the service, but the approach stays consistent: calm, structured, and intentional. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their routine—feeding, potty breaks, exercise, and any specific instructions—while also reinforcing good habits like leash manners, calm greetings, and settling. In my home, I keep the environment structured and low-stress. Dogs get supervised time, appropriate exercise (including trail walks when it’s a good fit), and clear boundaries so they can relax and succeed. I only take on a small number of dogs at a time to make sure each one gets the attention they need.
About: Hi there! I'm so excited to meet you and your furry family members! Animals have always been my greatest passion, and I've been fortunate enough to turn that passion into a career filled with some pretty incredible experiences! With a bachelor's degree in Equine Science and a master's degree in Marine Biology and Conservation, I've dedicated much of my education and professional life to understanding, caring for, and working alongside animals of all shapes and sizes. My professional background includes working as a veterinary technician, zoological specialist at Busch Gardens, marine mammal biologist, and dolphin trainer. Throughout these roles, I've gained extensive hands-on experience in animal husbandry, behavioral observation, training, enrichment, and providing individualized care. I've had the privilege of working with animals ranging from horses and household pets to dolphins, giraffes, and other exotic species! My veterinary background has also given me valuable experience recognizing changes in animal behavior, understanding health and wellness needs, and remaining calm and attentive in situations requiring extra care. But beyond my degrees and professional experience, I'm simply someone who absolutely adores animals. I understand that pets aren't just pets—they're family. And trusting someone else with a member of your family is a big deal! Whether your pet is joining me for boarding, heading out for a walk, or enjoying a drop-in visit, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for. I understand that every animal has its own personality, routine, and needs. Whether you have an energetic pup who loves adventures, a senior dog who prefers a slower pace, or a shy pet who needs a little extra patience, I'm happy to tailor my care to what makes them happiest. You can also expect plenty of updates and pictures while your pet is in my care, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your best friend is having a wonderful time! From dolphins and giraffes to dogs and cats, caring for animals has never been just a job to me. It's what I love most! I can't wait to meet your four-legged family members! 🐾❤️ I’m currently working from home and I am a part time student getting my doctorate in animal sciences. I have fairly open availability as much of my work and school work right now is all in house. For boarding I have open availability. For walks I can do anything after 12pm. For drop ins again ai can do anything after 12pm. Pet care is the upmost importance to me, and we can customize the schedule to what your pet needs! My apartment has a dog park attached to it so we can go outside and run and play! My neighbor has a large amount of sidewalks and grass that makes for great walks and sniffing time. I have a cat in the house that adores dogs and other cats and just wants to cuddle all the time, all of her stuff is raised so dogs can’t get into it. I want your pets to be happy and feel safe so if they need a crate or need anything else specific to them let me know and we will work it out!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hatton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
