This was the 2nd time Melisha watched our fur babies & our house while we were out of town, and just like the first time, she did an amazing job! She was super attentive & kept in touch with us multiple times throughout each day. She also sent pics of our dog & cat every time she communicated. She also handled a situation between our dog and an unexpected groundhog in the yard, like a champ. I would definitely recommend Melisha. She truly is a pro with regard to pet sitting!

I have a Rottweiler and anyone with a big dog knows how hard it is to find a sitter. Kerri does an amazing job with him. She is an incredible house guest. I appreciate the love she has for my buddy. Knowing he is with someone that loves him allows me to enjoy my vacations, worry free.

Sophia was absolutely wonderful! She stayed in our home with our 2 dogs and 1 cat while we were away for 10 days. She is dependable, responsible and trustworthy, she was also very easy going with all of our pets wants and needs. She sent us updates and photos regularly and was quick to respond to our messages we sent to her. Our cat and dogs were well taken care of and so very happy while we were gone. Our home was also very well taken care of, she collected our mail and took out the trash. We will be using Sophia again in the future for drop ins and in home stays.

About: I have been passionate about dogs ever since I was a child but because experienced working with dogs and cats (and some bunnies) while working for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. I was a veterinarian assistant for one year and then became an adoptions Manager for three years. This was the most fulfilling experience of my adult life, being able to help animals and the community daily. I recently lost my closest companion, Xander, about a month ago. He was 13 years old and I had him since he walked into the humane society at two months old. Through him I gained even more experience with aging dogs, medical care and many behavioral changes as he aged. While using positive reinforcement training we navigated 6 military moves, life adaptions to aging and the introduction of two kittens. I will take all this experience and use it to provide the same amount of love an attention for you furry family members as I did for Xander. I am currently unemployed and have most days free as well as can stay over night or board animals in my home. I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to work with any clients schedule as needed. I currently only have two cats in my home, so I’m able to provide boarding for cat friendly animals. I have a fenced in back yard and am usually not gone from the house for more than four hours. I also am available for staying over nights at clients houses for a more comfortable experience for everyone in the family.

Delaney watched my dog, Roxie, while we went away for about five days. She did a great job in communicating. Roxie was well taken care of, was happy and had a full bowl of water when we got home. I will definitely ask Delaney to watch my dog again in the future.

We truly could not ask for a better sitter. She cares for our dogs as if they were her own babies, and that kind of love and attention is priceless. We always come home to happy, well-cared-for pups and a home that is just as clean and tidy as we left it. One of our favorite things is how many updates and photos she sends while we’re away—it brings us so much peace of mind (and joy!) to see how loved and comfortable our dogs are. She is kind, respectful, reliable, and goes above and beyond every single time. We would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!

I had an excellent experience with Crystal as both a pet and house sitter. From the start, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring—she kept me updated regularly and was always quick to respond to any questions. It made being away from home much less stressful. Crystal proved to be incredibly reliable, showing up exactly as scheduled and following all care instructions carefully. I could tell she took her responsibilities seriously, not only ensuring my pets were well cared for but also keeping the house in great condition. I highly recommend Crystal to anyone looking for a dependable and thoughtful pet and house sitter.

She kept him on his schedule and was clearly experienced with puppies. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands- will definitely be using Ava again!

Micah was such a gem to find! He was thorough in his care for my animals which is not easy as my boxer has a myriad of health and anxiety issues. He provided updates and asked questions when needed. Do not hesitate to book Micah, he is a fine gentleman who will care for your animals like his own. I will not hesitate to reach back out myself!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five-Star Dog Sitter Extraordinaire! We honestly don’t know what kind of magic Abby possesses, but she managed to care for all five of our wild, lovable heathens like an absolute pro. That’s not just dog sitting—that’s dog whispering. From the moment Abby walked through the door, our dogs were obsessed with her—and for good reason. She’s calm, kind, patient, and somehow has the energy and grace to keep up with five very different canine personalities (and let’s be real—these dogs aren’t exactly low-maintenance). Whether it was the high-energy zoomies, the endless toy-fetching, or the very dramatic meal-time antics, Abby handled it all with a smile and a level of care that blew us away. Not only were our dogs happy, exercised, and clearly well-loved while we were away, but Abby also kept us updated with the cutest photos and little anecdotes that showed just how much she genuinely gets each of our pups. She didn’t just watch our dogs—she connected with them. We came home to five calm, content dogs and a house that somehow wasn’t destroyed. That alone deserves a medal. Abby is hands-down the best dog sitter we’ve ever had, and we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our furry chaos crew. If you’re lucky enough to book her, don’t hesitate—your dogs (and your sanity) will thank you.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid, and I have experience with taking care of many different breeds, young and old. I love animals and will do everything I can to make yours comfortable and happy. Work is currently slow, so I have the time to give your pets all the attention they need. I am available anytime throughout the week and most weekends. I have two friendly dogs that would love to keep yours company. I do not have a fenced yard, but walk them on my private lane often, and take them to the dog park. My pets get fed twice a day, but I can feed yours as often as you’d like - they also have some treat throughout the day.

This was a last minute thing, as one of my co-workers informed me of Rover.com, so I went on and did an immediate search within my zip code and found several sitters. We reached out to Rachel because she was so close to our home we felt it would be convenient for both our dogs as well as her if she needed to tend to her own needs. Rachel met us the very next day and was prepared with notebook and pen to take notes, so we walked her through everything and she had very few questions. She also worked at our vet and was comfortable giving medication to dogs since our greyhound takes several meds in the morning and evening and this went well. No complaints from our side, she did keep us informed and left the house as she found it. Thank you Rachel, see you next time.

FAQs for House Sitting - Harney

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,366 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Harney. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harney walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harney maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harney choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harney. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
