“11/10. Jaime was amazing with our dogs. She sent so many photos and updates we were able to relax knowing they were well taken care of. Great at communicating and overall exactly the kind of sitter we were looking for!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Heidi took phenomenal care of our dogs. Heidi came for a brief meet and greet before the visit and then while we were gone, she kept us updated. Heidi was flexible when we made a last minute adjustment which we greatly appreciated. If we could give Heidi 10 stars we would! Our first Rover experience was great and the next time we go out of town, we will definitely book with look Heidi.”

“Maya was an excellent sitter. My dog is not used to people she doesn't know. Maya was patient and had her cuddling up to her in no time. She was on time and took care of everthing. I would definatly ask for her again.”

“Caitlin took great care of our 5 needy furbabies (2 big dogs and 3 cats) and home while house sitting for our 10 day trip! They each have particular needs and she took care to attend to each pet and also kept us updated consistently at different points of the day, with plenty of photos. We had no worries at all during our trip thanks to her!”

“Jaydin was absolutely amazing, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. From the very beginning, she was kind, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease. Most importantly, my dogs loved her, and that says a lot because they are not always the easiest with new people. She was incredibly attentive, kept me updated, and followed all of our instructions and house routines perfectly, which meant so much to me. Knowing my babies were comfortable, safe, and well cared for while I was away gave me real peace of mind. I would trust her again in a heartbeat to stay in my home and care for my dogs. There honestly aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am. Thank you for everything, Jaydin!”

“Kristen went above and beyond when she sat for my 2 pups for 9 days. She sent pictures daily and bonded well with them. My home was clean and tidy when we arrived home. Can't say enough good words about Kristen. We will certainly call on her again to care for our "babies"!!”

About: I have experience with dogs of all ages - including newborn puppies. I am the proud father of 3 dogs, a 1 year old and 2 one year olds. My experience has broadened rapidly, as I have started helping my friend manage their pseudo rescue. At her house I have helped with cats, dogs, newborns, reptiles, rats, and more. Now that my job responsibilities have shifted and I have more time at home I am looking to find new things to occupy my time. I am an avid leash user and will go to great lengths to ensure all critters are safe and well taken care of no matter the age, or species.

“Whitney was great with my two dogs, Margarita and Mandy. She loved on them and made them feel comfortable while I was out of town. She sent me updates and pictures daily of how they were doing I would definitely recommend and use Whitney again when I need to be away from my babies!!!”

“Megan was AMAZING! She went above and beyond while taking care of our sweet boys and the house. We had a family emergency that meant leaving town last minute and it was such a weight off our shoulders knowing that our dogs were being cared for!! HIGHLY recommend booking with Megan- Thank you again!! ❤️”

About: I’m a dependable animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’ve spent a lot of time around dogs, cats, and other small animals, and I’m comfortable handling feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and basic care routines. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to watch their pets because I treat every animal like my own—making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. My goal is always to provide a calm, reliable environment where pets get plenty of attention, activity, and love. I have plenty of time to care and love your dog. I treat every animal as if it was my own. My home is also spacious and I have a large fenced in back yard with a back porch. I also live in a reasonably sized home and have two young children that will love and play with them. They will be able to hangout and sleep with me or on a dog bed! 😊

Heidi took great care of our great dane and cat for a little over 2 weeks while we were away. She took great care of our pets and our house. She followed instructions and seemed to treat them as if they were her own. Heidi communicated as needed and was available for questions or concerns. I would gladly recommend Heidi & look forward to having her watch our pets again in the future!

Maya is incredible! She checked on our fur babies so many times and took excellent care of them. I never had to worry about them because I knew she was there and checking on them frequently. She kept me updated on everything and sent so many pictures. Will definitely rebook in the future!

Mackenzie was a fantastic sitter! She communicated all throughout her stay & she made us feel completely comfortable leaving her alone in our home with our animals for the weekend. She was 100% devoted to our animal's care & followed all feeding guidelines & give medication without issue. All the animals, pups and cats, loved her - Gerorgia even gave a little whine when her new best friend had to leave! 😂 We will absolutely be using her services again. 5⭐️'s Highly recommended!

Honestly, Olivia was wonderful! She accepted my last minute request after my original sitter canceled on me. She fit my babies around her busy schedule and took great care of them. Lots of pictures and communication. My trip got delayed about 4hr due to the gov shut down and she came back home to feed the dogs because we weren't going to make it earlier. I can't thank her enough for the peace of mind she provided! Thank you!!

I cannot recommend Cynthia enough! She is a seasoned professional, a master of her craft and so good with your fur babies. She meets you and them first to establish a rapport and follows up during her stay so you know they are in good hands. For the first time I had peace of mind on my trip. Will be booking her again soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harker Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harker Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harker Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
