About: I’ve taken care of friends dogs, family members dogs, and even volunteered at an animal shelter and was taking care of different animals there. I am currently employed at equine medical where I take care of horses. I myself have 2 cats and a dog that I love so much. I am currently employed and a student at Stephens College. I will not be available till after 5. Weekends are available though! I would prioritize your pets like i do mine. I take my dog on multiple walks a day and he would love another friend to walk with him, or even play with him at my house or your house/ apartment.

About: I took a very active role in caring for my family dog until he tragically passed from cancer in 2019. I have also dog-sat for neighbors’ pets with particular dietary needs. Currently, I’ve been told by roommates that I have a very calming presence with our house dog. I work part time primarily in the evenings and when not working, I often have community theater rehearsals on weeknights. During the Mizzou school year I will have some classes during the day, though for no more than a few hours at a time. My current house is not available for pet boarding unless specifically negotiated. The property has a non-fenced yard and one resident dog, who does behave well with other animals. Neighborhood is safe, well-paved, and walkable.

Ellie was amazing. She played with our energetic Border Collie so much and gave the cats lovies! Plus with every card, she attached multiple photos per visit. She gave meds, feedings, and everything was in order upon our return. Will rebook!

Mary is great! She has been coming to check in on our puppy during the day while we’re at work. She is obviously a big animal lover and we have been very comfortable having her take care of our little guy! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs pet care.

About: I have several years of hands-on pet care experience from family and friends with dogs and cats. I’ve provided daily walks, multiple feedings, grooming, and basic training for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable with senior pets and those requiring medication, and I’ve also cared for anxious or high-energy dogs with patience and consistency. In addition, I’ve done overnight stays, ensuring pets maintain their routine in a stress-free environment. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own, always focused on their comfort, safety, and happiness. I work from home during normal business hours with leniency in needing to step away during the day. Also willing to work from the pets home if WiFi is available! I tend to stay pretty flexible. Either way, they’ll be treated like my own pet which is very heavy on the cuddles, kisses and treats. My pup, Roxie, loves being outside- so if your dog loves it outside also then that’s where we’ll be! If they like to be a couch potato, that’s my spirit animal and I’ll make sure they’re all comfy and well veg it out together! Currently in my home there are 2 other pups also that are very friendly and 2 other people that also love animals! I do not have the set up for cats, as I don’t currently have my own but have had cats in the past and can also care for them. Familiar with litter boxes and giving medication to cats, also.

About: I have had dogs almost my whole life since I was 1 years old. They are all my favorites! I have taken care of puppies through elderly. I have had dogs with seizures and one who only walked in left circles after a stroke. I have had dogs who lost their ability to control their bladder and dogs who needed help getting off the bed. I love them all and my life is better because they were in it! I work till 3:30-4 pm Monday through Friday in education. I am free many weekends a month. I am happy to do a drop in or two in the evenings and more with longer stays on weekends. I am not always available for last moment notice on weekends but will do my best to be available with a couple days notice. In your home I will follow what ever procedure you instruct. It is your home and your animal. Trust and consent is the most important part of the relationship. I am good at meeting expectations and will always strive to exceed them for your animal. You are the best they could hope for, I want you to feel confident they are just as cared for when they are with me.

About: I grew up with all kinds of animals and pets, but I haven’t had the time to have my own. Checking on yours will be more of a treat than anything else! We’ve owned and raised multiple large dogs and cattle dogs, as well as smaller ones with all kinds of temperaments. I work full-time as a retail manager, so my schedule is pretty flexible but sometimes not consistent. Please don’t take offense if I don’t accept your pet - I may just have to work at that time! I follow all instructions to a tee, and I’ll never put your pet in a situation In unsure about, especially when leaving your home. Constant communication is key!

I have worked in the animal care industry for 6 years in a horse training facility and multiple dog/cat boarding facilities. Your pets safety and overall happiness is my number one priority. I will make sure your pet gets the care they deserve while also having fun in a stress free environment. Updates will be provided as requested so you know your best friend is having the time of their life. I provide dog training, home visits, and walking. Animals are my passion and I want to make sure yours get the care they need, when they need it. I would love to be a full time pet caretaker/trainer soon! About: Being raised on a farm, I learned how to care every creature under the sun. I’ve raised beagles for better than 10 years now and currently have one beagle buddy named Nigel. We take walks every morning and before bed at night and have to have pretty strict rules since he's very smart and constantly wanting to follow his nose. I adjust my style to the breed and owner preferences so just let me know how you pet parent and I’ll make sure to follow the needed style. We can do play dates, but for the most part I would prefer to meet you where your pets live as they tend to do better that way. Straight forward communication gets the best pet care resulting in happy pups! Currently, booking all types for Hallsville area only. I will book the boarding option for Columbia area and can meet for pick up and drop off I have fenced back yard for running/playing. I treat your furbies like family and send videos so you know how they are doing. I want to make sure your pet gets something like a vacation while you're away

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hallsville. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 89% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
