1. Zach D.

“Zach took on our 3 crazy boxers and did an amazing job with them. Our older dogs weren't super socialized, but after 3 days they were living their best with Zach and fam!”

2. Robin H.

“Robin was so friendly and accommodating, and it is clear that she takes great care of the dogs in her care! She took plenty of time before the stay to show us around and make sure that all of our questions were answered. Our dog returned from her stay happy and very well-exercised ? We will definitely book with Robin again!”

3. Katina M.

“Katina is awesome, and my beagle Ellie gets excited every time we turn down the road to her house. It is very comforting to me to know that when I leave Ellie with her she is is the best of hands; Katina always takes great care of my girl and she keeps me posted while I am away. Thanks Katina! Highly recommended.”

4. Debbie C.

“I had a great experience with Debbie and Pete. This was my first time using Dog Vacay. Debbie and Pete have a great place. Their house and yard are both clean and perfectly set-up to care for their five small show dogs. They have a large fenced in yard (between half an acre and an acre). This allows the dogs to run around and play. The yard has a small kids pool for the dogs to get wet and have a good time. The dogs are also allowed inside. Debbie and Pete sent me a text with my dog sleeping on their couch. They also went out of their way to drop my dog in Charlottesville on their way to work to save me time on my return trip. Very sweet couple and I would highly recommend using them if you are going to be in the Charlottesville area.”

5. Paula C.

“Paula was awesome! We felt very confident with our decision and our pup was very comfortable with her and returned happy. She was also very flexible with our changing schedules. Highly recommend!”

6. Denton & Elizabeth W.

“Elizabeth and Denton took great care of Astrid. They periodically sent updates and pictures. Astrid had a good time at their house. More importantly we were relieved that she was in safe hands. Will strongly recommend them for future stays.”

7. Charissa G.

“Our pup always has fun at Poindexter Park - and is blissfully exhausted upon her return! Charissa ensures our dog has a comfortable stay, is very communicative, and is always thoughtful and helpful with training.”

8. Penny H.

“Penny and her family, her dogs were AMAZING and so SWEET!! My pup looked so happy when I was picking him up from her place, and he zonked out when we got back home which means he had an amazing time with her!”

9. Jeanette H.

“Jeanette is truly a gem! She took care of my dog for 8 days, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met, I could see how kind, responsible, and genuinely loving she is with animals. My dog instantly felt comfortable around her—which says a lot! Jeanette kept me updated with sweet messages and photos throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. When I picked my dog up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. Her home is warm and perfectly set up for pets to feel safe and at ease. I’m beyond grateful for the care and attention she gave, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my pup with her again. Highly, highly recommend!””

18. Connally B.

About: I've worked at a combination of vet clinics and doggy daycares for the last 5 years (& counting), and have lived with and cared for dogs and cats (and other farm critters) my whole life. I routinely care for family member's and friend's pets as well. I have the most experience with senior and special needs dogs, so I'm familiar with and comfortable administering various oral and injectable medications, such as heart medication, eye drops, and insulin. While senior pups have a special place in my heart, I will provide just as much care and attention to your puppy or feline friend as well! My goal is to make sure each pet enjoys as much of their stay as possible, until their favorite person comes home again. 💖 I work from home as a self-employed artist (Etsy shop: PeculiarPetalsArt) so my schedule is usually pretty flexible and can fit around your pets' needs. See below to determine the best option for your needs! House-sitting (at your place): If your pet needs extra attention or care, this option is where I intend to be at your residence the majority of the day (~8hrs) and stay the night. I can also bring in packages, water plants, etc as needed. Just ask! Drop-ins (at your place): 30-minute visits to your residence where I stop by to play, feed, clean up, and love on your pet. If your pet needs medications administered at a specific time this can be set at the drop-in time. I can also bring in packages, tend to plants, etc! **Meet-and-greets are preferred for first-time clients prior to house-sitting and drop-ins to allow the pet(s) to meet /smell me and to go over any specifics of the house/pet care as well as confirm contact info. I routinely keep an eye on the temperature/weather to ensure the outside activity level/length is safe for your pet. This is especially necessary when caring for older or brachycephalic breeds. If there are any commands/habits you are working on, let me know so I can help maintain consistency!

19. Nathan A.

“Nathan is great with our dog. She has been there twice now, and it’s good to see on the second time she ran right in without hesitation. We will definitely continue to use him for our doggo.”

20. Elizabeth M.

“Elizabeth did a great job with my dog. He came back home happy and tired. She was able to accommodate me on one day's notice and sent some pictures during his stay.”
