About: Hi! My name is Makaela Hawkins! I have always loved and owned pets and never seen myself not having a dog in my life. I absolutely love taking care of animals and getting some good exercise in with them! I treat all pups as if they were my own! I have years of experience with dogs and also worked at a pet nutrition center that sold high quality dog and cat food for a while! So if you have questions about pet nutrition, please don’t hesitate to ask me! I’m looking to fill my time with some pups and help some pet parents out as well! My schedule is pretty flexible and allows me to fit in lots of time for fur babies! I treat pets like my own, always giving them love and making sure that they’re taken care of. I love creating a comfortable space for both myself and my new friend. Transparency in terms of aggression, health history, and interactions with other pets and children are very important to me.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 11 years old. Family, friends and neighbors have entrusted me to come into their homes to feed, let out, clean up and give lots of attention and love to their pets. I am a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school, so I’m available early mornings and anytime after 3:30 during the week. I’m also available on weekends and during the summertime. I’m currently unable to take pets in my home as I have my own sweet Labrador Retriever and Australian Labradoodle and an adorable cat, but I’m available to travel to your residence to take excellent care of your pets.

About: I have never not had a dog in my life. I have owned Labs, Boxers, German Shepherds, Irish Setters, Huskies, and Bulldogs. While only owning larger breeds, I do have experience with smaller dogs. I have worked as a home care professional dealing with older people and their pets, with overnight stays which involved cleaning and meal preparation. Athletics have always been an important part of my life and that carries over to playing with, walking and caring for the dogs. I would say that my biggest weakness is that I often get attached to the dogs, however I would say that is a strength as far as the dogs are concerned. I am very trustworthy and dedicated with a good work history and work ethic. I currently work full-time, from home. I typically have a lot of flexibility throughout the week. I tend to take on more through the week because my husband travels a lot and I like to spend time with him on the weekends. That being said, please reach out if you would like me to watch your pup because I always try and work it into my schedule!! I don’t offer services in my own home, so I will come to yours. Depending on the yard situation, I love to take dogs outside and run around with them or play fetch with them, just help them get their energy out. Especially if they’ve been kept inside for most of the day! I know my dogs really enjoy this, so I make sure to get that play-time in, while dogsitting. I also know that it is very important to dog owners to get the walk in, everyday. So, I always make sure to listen to those instructions and follow through with them, it’s always good to keep up the routine and the dogs always look forward to it!

About: I have experience caring for cats and dogs of all ages and personalities, including administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions. Whether your pet needs a fun walk, companionship during a drop-in visit, or extra patience and attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I work from home and so I have a lot of flexibility on weekdays for drop-ins and/or walks. I have the most availability on weekends if you go out of town and want someone to stop by multiple times to check on your pet. When caring for your pet in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, or simply spending quality time with your pet. I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while you’re away. I also understand that I’m a guest in your home. I’ll treat your space with the same care and respect that I would my own.

About: I’ve grown up with pets all my life! Growing up, we always had at least two dogs running around and had all breeds from Havanese to Bernese Mountain Dogs. I have watched my pets through every life cycle and feel comfortable making sure all pets are cared for as if they are my own. I am currently a 3L in law school with classes either only in the morning or only in the afternoon, depending on the day. I am willing to work around my classes to make sure I can care for your pet when needed. I am a bit of a neat freak and will make sure that your space remains clean and cared for as if it is my own space.

About: I’ve taken care of neighbors cats and dogs for the past ten years, while also loving and caring for my own pets. We currently have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a veiled chameleon, and a betta fish, so I have experience caring for a wide range of animals! I am currently a senior at Wake Forest University who has a part-time schedule. My light course load allows me to spend ample time with your furry friends. The safety and comfort of my own/clients pets is of utmost importance to me. I love to spend time playing and grooming my own dog and will always treat every animal with the same care!

About: I grew up with 2 lab mixes from 6 years old through college. As well as a German shepherd and I now myself own a Rottweiler mix who’s 2 years old. I’ve always loved dogs and have watched my college friends’ dogs when I was in college. I work part time at a bar doing evening shifts Thursday-Sundays. So I’m looking for work to pick up on Monday-Friday. I’m available in the late mornings to mid afternoons. While I can’t house your dog, I will be happy to take your dog on walks. Play fetch with them in the backyard. Often I take my own dog to a park to play fetch in the early morning. I believe a happy puppy is a tired puppy.

We had such a wonderful experience with Maria watching our cat! She was incredibly attentive, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable. She spent lots of quality time with her and sent us frequent updates and adorable pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and loving to care for their pet. We would definitely book with her again!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Guthrie

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Pet Sitting in Guthrie is $13 per visit as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $13 and $18 per visit. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 1,533 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Guthrie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guthrie. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
