“Samantha is the best. She is so caring to our babies and detail-oriented. Our family is so happy to have found her and plan on utilizing her drop in services as much as she allows us to!”

“Anya made our little cat feel right at home with her which is a big deal considering how anxious ours usually is. She also made sure everything in our place was in working order while we were gone and sent us prompt pictures.”

I currently am a stay at home mom so my schedule is wide open. I would love to fill my time by walking or doing drop in visits with your pets! I have a huge backyard for them. I also have two dogs of my own who get along great with other dogs , so they can run and play with them.

About: Hi! I’m available for pet sitting and dog walking. I have 3 cats and 1 dog of my own and plenty of experience dog-sitting for other families. I’m reliable, caring, and flexible with scheduling—happy to help with walks, feeding, or drop-in visits!” I work during the day on weekdays, but I’m available for pet care in the mornings, evenings, and throughout the weekends. This schedule allows me to reliably handle feedings, walks, check-ins, and playtime outside of typical work hours, making pet care a consistent part of my daily and weekly routine.” I will provide care in my clients’ homes to help pets stay comfortable in their familiar environment. During each visit, I ensure they have fresh food and water, take the dogs out for walks or potty breaks, clean the litter boxes if needed, and spend quality time playing and giving them attention. I follow each family’s routine closely so their pets feel safe and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I’ve been around pets for most of my life. Starting when I would take care of my family fishes when I was younger. Then, later, with our family dog, a tiny Maltese named Lucy! As of late, I’ve spent my time watching over my friends’ two kitties, as well as helping them with their dog sits when they need an extra hand! I am currently a full-time student at JMU. I have plenty of availability during the summer, and when the school year begins, weekday nights, and weekends! By being friendly and gentle, I hope to create a safe and fun atmosphere for your pet(s)! I am communicative and reliable, and will always make sure to give you updates and photos, so you can see how your pets are doing when you are away!

About: My husband and I have rescued several dogs for many years. We had 8 elderly dogs at one point in our home. We currently have 3 dogs, which are walked many times a day. I currently work close to home, and am able to stay over at a client’s home if need be. I also have two grown daughters that would love to help walk dogs or cats and take care of them, provide attention and just spend time with them playing in the house. I am very responsible, am a professional careeer woman just seeking to make a little extra money doing something I love, being with animals. I can certainly provide personal references. I am currently working full-time Monday through Friday, but I am able to pet sit or house sit after work as well as on the weekends. I prefer the dogs I sit for to have harnesses instead of collars, as they provide more security. I also do light housekeeping in the home if requested.
“Pamela is definitely a go to for our 2 dogs who love when she comes. This was our first time having Pamela to a drop on visit which went perfectly. She has always gone above and beyond for our pups which shows how much she cares.”

“Abigail was super great with our two dogs! They are both high energy and can be a lot at times. She was very patient and took excellent care of them, going above and beyond to make sure they had what they needed while we were away.”

About: I have a dog and 6 cats of my own that I have rescued from the RHSPCA. I also have volunteered at our local SPCA, cleaning, and fostering pets for years. I have pet sit many times for friends and family and really enjoy it! I am currently home from college for the summer and my schedule is open anytime during the week. I am flexible and available to work with clients schedules. I know pets are happiest in their own home, so I’ll do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
