“Laura was great with our cat, Teddy. We received happy pictures each day, a thorough description of how much Teddy ate and how they played, and good communication. It was wonderful having Laura look after Teddy on his 'staycation'!”

About: I have been responsible for pets since i was very young. I owned two dogs myself, both recently passed away. I was responsible for taking care of them. Outside of my own pets, I have watched, walked and cared for a few dogs! I love getting to know pets personalities! I have experience with cats as well! I have my own and have watched over multiple cats before. I’m currently in school and work full time ! All of my schooling is online and I work 3 12 hour shifts, so I am available 4/7 days of the week and if needed I am happy to do pet care after a shift! I always take extra precautions when handling others pets! I always double check with owners and how they feel about certain activities and routines for their pets
“Peyton did a great job taking care of Blue. She made sure he received his medicine and meals in a very timely fashion. I could count on her while I was away. I would absolutely recommend her!”

“Maria was great! Maria watched our cats Oliver and Benny for about a week while my family and I went on vacation. We had no issues at all and the cats seemed very content when we got home. I’d recommend Maria as a pet sitter for others.”

“If I could give Mariah 10 stars I would! She’s amazing! We have a Bengal cat which is one of the craziest cat breads out there. Lilo can be a lot to handle as well as very needy. Mariah did an amazing job handling our crazy girl! She sent pictures and kept me updated all the time. I will only use her from now on and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an animal sitter! She's one of the best in Austin!”

“I have really appreciated Makaila taking care of our cat while we were gone. She always goes above and beyond, and even went out of her way to get supplies for Buddy when we ran out. She is truly amazing and will always book with her! Your pet is in excellent care with her! Thank you Makaila!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs most of my life. I am 57. I have done dog training and agility with 2 of our dogs. I have had a puppy and dealt with Senior dogs too. I love to give our dog lots of attention with play time, walking and outdoor activities. I love to take walks and go to other parks too. With the owner's permission, I love to go to the dog park-Bow Wow dog park and the Akron Dog Park. I give your furry one lots of attention with play time-throwing toys-playing fetch with a ball or toy. Letting them have backyard time. We have a fenced in back yard for the dogs to be free. I also will brush your dog and pet them and give them attention, while you are away. I will treat your dog like he/she is my own dog. Another place I will take dogs is Petsmart or Pet Supplies Plus for social interaction and exercise. I am at home and available most days. We have a 20 year-old Son, who also loves dogs! My Husband helps out too, with walks and letting the dogs out in our backyard and is a dog person. Currently, I am not working. I have a knee problem and some medical issues that prevent me from working full time. I have plenty of time to take care of your dog. We love to take walks and go to the dog parks. However, if you prefer your dog not to go to the dog park, that is fine. We could go on walks and let your dog go outside in our backyard. We have lots of dog toys, bones, balls, etc... I do have a walk thru pet gate that I set up to block off the kitchen and dining room area. We will feed our dog and your dog separately in separate rooms. I love to brush and pet dogs. If needed, we could bath your dog too. We are a "dog" type family, that is our preference. We have had fish, hamsters and also a guinea pig in the past. I grew up with a cat in our home, as a child. We will throw ball and toys for the dogs and play with your dog. We have a small crate that is in our garage, however we don't usually use the crate. If we leave the home, depending on the situation, if your dog is destructive or chewing on furniture or other items, then we will crate your dog when we leave for church or a short errand. If you have a calm dog and the dog is not destructive and well mannered, then your dog could stay in the family room area, unless you prefer that your dog is in his crate. We will use 2 dog gates near our steps to go upstairs. We prefer that our dog and other dogs do not go upstairs. As a House Sitter, I would do any needed cleaning up of any messes I make. I would be bringing my own food, as I am gluten free and dairy free. The only thing I would need is some freezer and frigerated space for my food. I would follow your normal routine for your dog or dogs. I do have occasional Dr and therapy appointments, fyi. We have a home in Akron, with a fence in our backyard. We live near a forest, it is a quiet area. We have a small neighborhood, where the street dead ends to a forest. We don't get drive thru traffic, that use our area as a "short cut".
“Sierra has done so amazing with Oakley and is always extremely helpful and good! She responds quickly and can always help out especially when it’s last minute! Oakley is very energetic and can be a lot but she does such a well job walking and keeping him calm!”

About: I am known among my friends and family as a hugeeee dog lover. Taking care of dogs is not a job but a hobby for me. Whether your pup prefers to lounge and cuddle or go on long walks and play fetch for hours, I’ve got you covered. I am a college graduate who is finishing a part time internship. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I make certain that each dog that I encounter is well taken care of according to their specific needs. I prioritize movement and enriching activities for pups of all ages. I’m attentive during walks, keep dogs securely leased unless over wise instructed, and monitor their behavior to ensure they are comfortable and stress free. I’ll also keep you updated with photos or messages so you can feel confident knowing your pet is doing well.
“Michelle walked our shy beagle twice now. She is so patient and kind towards her. She even fit Letty in the same day. Michelle is very responsive when you message her. She will always reply in a timely manner. We absolutely be booking Michelle again! Thank you!”

Whatever their personality type or energy level, my goal is to make your pets feel safe, understood, and cared for like they’re my own. Im currently in the processing of completing a 10 week pet grooming course that i attend Mon-Fri, 9-4. So, I will be available for house sitting on weekdays, 5 pm to 7:30 am. I can house sit and provide constant care on the weekends if needed. I can walk dogs or do check-ins any day of the week, however Mon-Fri i am only available in the early morning and also after 5pm. I will keep your pets' home environment, clean, safe and calm. For kitties, I can clean litter boxes, follow specific feeding/play routine or simply just be a calm caring presence. For dogs, I can also follow any feeding or enrichment routines you may have, nothing is too elaborate or complex! I have much experience caring for animals in need of highly specific care. I live an active lifestyle so i will have no problem wearing out your puppy or higher energy dog! I can do brisk walks or even runs. I also have a special place in my heart for older pups. I pay especially close attention if a dog is elderly or arthritic. I will never make them feel rushed or forced and I will let them set the pace for the day, depending on their mood and energy level.
“Rebekah was fantastic with my kitty Nyla. She is way more experienced than I am with cats, so it was awesome. She came to check on her 2-3 times per day, played with her, fed her & even turned on Cat TV for her. I got lots of notes each visit & pictures. I will for sure be using her in the future:)”

About: I've taken care of dogs for my whole life. I've grown up and comfortable with dogs, cats, hamsters, birds, fish, horses, chickens etc. I've worked with Petsmart for 4 years now. I've grown up around rescued dogs which made me very used to scared/semi-aggressive dogs. I've also been used to having old dogs, so I understand medication times, helping them use the bathroom, getting them around the house, and the patience it takes. And for energetic dogs, I'm a very active person and walk 4 miles daily in my free time, so if you need them to wind down, I'm here to help! I am a college student, but I'll have my car with me and will be there if you need it, as long as I know in advance my schedule can work with yours! I work Doordash, Rover, and at a Daycare. I will NOT be running Doordash while providing a service to you, the daycare closes M-F at 5:30 and isnt open on the weekends. The rest of my day will be dedicated to care and love for your pet! In your home I will stick by your usual routine. Times they eat, go outside, walk, etc. I focus on making your pets happy. If they act like they need to go outside, I will drop everything to take them. You can expect everything placed back in order from when you left. I dont like messes in my home, especially when coming back from traveling or a long day at work, you can ensure a clean environment waiting for you, as if no one was even there.
“Tara was great with my two kittens! She made sure that they were comfortable and loved while I was away. I have one who bolts for the outside and she was extra cautious to make sure there was no escapees!”

About: I have had animals my whole life, from dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, iguanas, and rabbits. I have lived with them, fed them and kept them clean. I am currently only working part time so I have tons of time to help these animals have some fun while their parents are away! I have a very large yard and live nearby to parks. I have a crate if needed and will be willing to accommodate whatever is needed.
About: I treat every pet like they’re my own and pay close attention to their routines, comfort, and emotional needs. Your babies will always feel safe, loved, and cared for with me. I have a very flexible schedule. I currently work part-time at a hospital every other weekend, which leaves most weekdays and evenings open for pet care. Because of this, I’m able to accommodate drop-ins, walks, and extended visits throughout the week. I really enjoy building pet care into my routine, and I’m able to adjust my schedule easily to meet the needs of each pet and their family. I focus on creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment. I follow their normal routines as closely as possible, make sure they always have fresh water, regular potty breaks, and plenty of love and attention. I also keep things clean and organized so pets feel comfortable and secure. I follow all instructions, keep up with feeding times, walks, meds, and any quirky habits their pet might have. In my home, pets get lots of affection, structure, and a peaceful environment where they’re treated like part of the family.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
