First time leaving my 2 dogs with a pet sitter. - one is six years old and one is four. Holly worked with my extreme anxiety about leaving my babies. She was quickly responsive to my numerous texts and calls throughout the day. She sent photos and spent lots of good quality time with the dogs.

About: I grew up surrounded by animals—horses, cats, and dogs—which naturally led to a lifelong love for caring for and working with them. I pursued this passion academically by earning a degree in Animal Science and professionally by spending five years in the horse industry, where I gained experience in veterinary care, herd and barn management, as well as training and showing. I’ve also worked in veterinary clinics, where I developed strong skills in safe pet handling, basic first aid, and administering medications. In addition, I have experience with puppy training and basic obedience, and I’ve completed courses to certify my own dogs as Canine Good Citizens. Now settled with my husband, who is active-duty military, I enjoy providing calm, reliable, home-style care for pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved while their families are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m a stay-at-home mom to one baby boy who already loves his furry “brothers,” which means I’m home most of the day and able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I live a simple, calm lifestyle and enjoy adjusting to each dog’s needs—whether that’s dedicated playtime for high-energy dogs, structured walks, or a relaxed day with couch time and snuggles. Because I’m home, pets are never left unattended for long and are treated as part of the family during their stay. I live a simple, calm lifestyle and tailor care to each dog’s individual needs. I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, training reinforcement, and medication if needed. High-energy dogs receive dedicated play and enrichment, while more laid-back pets enjoy a relaxed pace with plenty of affection and snuggle time. Because I’m home throughout the day, pets are rarely left alone and are treated like part of the family—kept safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I've taken care of cats, dogs and ferrets for many years! I always put my pets first before anything else. I mostly enjoy spending time outdoor and being active with dogs, making sure they get plenty of exercise. When I'm with my cats my favorite thing to do with them is have them chase the red laser! My ferrets enjoy running through tubes and playing in their own ball pit. I am currently looking for a full-time job, but for the meantime my schedule is completely free! When I do get a job I will still focus on taking care of your furry babies. Although I am unable to keep your pets at my place, I am more than happy to come to your house at pet sit! I will feed them when needed, make sure to give them all kinds of love and attention the whole time I'm there, prescribe medicine when needed (Although, the only type of medication I have prescribed to my furbabies has been flea medicine, so if your pet needs different medication please teach me!).

I can not say enough great things about Rachel. This was my first time using someone from here to watch my fur baby so I was a bit nervous. This young lady is beyond professional, attentive and kind. She made me feel at ease within a few minutes of speaking with her . She kept me updated on all things involving my little Ace and he liked her immediately. I plan on using her again and again and would definitely recommend her!

Whitney is absolutely amazing!!!!! We had a scheduled sitter before her that was a very bad experience. We were in desperate need of a sitter and even with it being last minute she was able to watch them. She was absolutely wonderful with my dogs and cat! She sent numerous pictures and videos. All my dogs fell in love with her! And it truly gave me hope that I was able to trust someone again with my pets. I want to thank her for her time and the care she gave! We will definitely be using her again.

About: Having years of experience caring for family pets of all shapes and sizes, I can provide your pets with the one on one time they deserve while you're away. I have provided care for a wide range of dogs, from weeks old puppies, to senior dogs getting ready to cross the rainbow bridge. My love for dogs has encouraged me to pursue a career doing what I love, playing with dogs and making their overall wellbeing my priority. I take your dogs day to day routine into account when doing any sort of activities; from how long they typically like to go for walks, to the level of interaction they like during play time. I consider every dog a friend I haven't made yet, and I love sharing that sort of relationship with every dog I meet. Being a pet parent myself, the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning and the last thing I do before bed is pet care. I understand that every animal is unique and requires personalized care. I always make sure to respect the pets personal space and I always go at the pace set by the pet. Their comfort and happiness is my top priority.

About: I’ve always been an advocate for animals. Their innocence, loyalty, and dedication to humans is unwavering so I try to give them love in return. I just left my 9-5 to per-sue what makes me happy and still make money. Caring for animals will give me the ability to spend more time with mine also. I have 3 dogs in my home so I would care for your pet in your home. Plus I feel that pets are more comfortable in their own homes. I have a live in dog sitter so my pets always have someone with them giving me the time to help other people with their pets.

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is the level of patience, attention, and personalized care I give to every pet. I understand that every animal has different needs, personalities, and routines, so I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I pride myself on being dependable, communicative, and detail oriented. I provide regular updates, photos, and check ins so owners feel reassured knowing their pets are in good hands. My goal is not just to watch your pets, but to genuinely care for them like they’re my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I already have experience caring for my own cat and am very comfortable around both cats and dogs. I understand how important consistency, attention, exercise, and companionship are for pets of all personalities and energy levels. During the summer, I work full time but get off at 4 PM, which gives me plenty of time in the evenings for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, litter box cleaning, medication routines if needed, and quality one-on-one attention. I also have weekends completely free, allowing for flexible scheduling, extended visits, or overnight care. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, provide fresh water, clean litter boxes or pick up after dogs during walks, and make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and companionship. I also keep the home tidy, monitor pets closely for any changes in behavior or health, and provide regular updates and photos so owners feel comfortable while they’re away.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a little girl. I always shower dogs with so much love & my annoying baby voice haha. I absolutely adore dogs. I am very flexible with my schedule since I am a student in college taking online courses ! I am available on evenings & weekends. I care for my pets with lots of toys & treats! When it’s time to go potty, I use a leash for my dog due to living in the city with no fence or backyard.

About: I have extensive experience in caring for dogs, ensuring they lead happy and healthy lives. Along with providing balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and grooming, I also have a strong background in dog training and animal behavior. I’m skilled at understanding different dog personalities, whether they’re energetic puppies or calm adults, and I tailor care to meet their individual needs. My training experience includes teaching basic commands, addressing behavioral issues, and fostering positive habits. Building trust and creating a loving environment for dogs is my priority, and I take pride in giving them the attention, affection, and guidance they deserve. If you would also be interested in dog training please message me. If anything changes I will communicate with you about times and try my best to find the perfect time to get with you and your fur-babies. 😊 Sunday: 3pm-6pm [Church Day] Monday: 8am-6pm Tuesday: 8am-6pm Wednesday: 8am-6pm [Personal Day] [Intermittent] Thursday: 8am-6pm Friday: 8am-6pm Saturday: 8am-6pm If your dog bullies other animals in the house they will be crated or put in a time-out. I am an AKC Certified [dog trainer/evaluator] and animal behaviorist in training. So I know how dogs think. And if your dog tries to bully me, I know how to handle it with force-free methods since I am a force-free dog trainer. FAQs for House Sitting - Gracey

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Gracey on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 172 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gracey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gracey walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gracey maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gracey choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gracey. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
