About: I have always had at least one dog during my life. I grew up surrounded by animals. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. I also volunteered at a veterinary practice and a cat kennel when I was a young adult. I currently work during the week, but my weekends are completely open. I can board Friday evening until Sunday evening. Or I can walk your furbaby anytime over the weekend. I live on a 2 acre lot that Gracie and I walk several times a day. We also go on hikes to explore further afield. Gracie sleeps on my bed and we share a sofa.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs basicly all my life. I currently have an Australian Shepherd that is five years old. He is good with other dogs. He has separation anxiety, so I know how to take care of that as well. I work full-time at the University. I go on daily walks with my own dogs. I’m pretty free after work. You’re dog will feel at home:) I have a fenced in yard and I live in a house, so I have plenty of space for your pet. I also make sure that they get plenty of exercise.

“Peyton was excellent. Very easy to book, quick to respond, and super smooth handover of our dog, Stella. Usually Stella gets nervous when we drop her off at a sitter's, but I think Peyton's confidence in just taking her leash and leading her into her house made Stella comfortable following her. We got daily updates and photos, and Stella seemed happy in every picture. I will definitely be using Peyton's services again (well, at least trying to, as I already went to book again, and she was already booked up, so obviously I'm not the only one who feels this way!) Fantastic experience!”

About: I already have two great dogs! A yorkie(4yrs old) and pitbull(8-9yrs old), I have a great backyard with lots of space to run around in. I’m able to take dogs that need time outside alone away from other dogs. As a dedicated stay-at-home dad managing our family's homeschool schedule and running a home artisan sourdough bakery, I am consistently on-site and present throughout the entire day. My daily routine allows me to seamlessly integrate hands-on pet care into our everyday rhythm, ensuring visiting dogs receive frequent check-ins, consistent supervision, and plenty of attention alongside my daily baking and family responsibilities. Because I do not commute for work, I maintain steady availability and flexible scheduling for both first-time and recurring clients, giving pet parents complete peace of mind knowing their dog is never left unattended. Welcome to our home-away-from-home for your furry family member! I am a dedicated stay-at-home dad offering a safe, affectionate, and fun environment where your dog will be treated like family. Our home features a huge, fully fenced backyard with plenty of space to run, play fetch, and burn off energy, along with a covered shelter underneath the porch for relaxing in the shade, as well as full access to come inside and lounge comfortably with us. To keep everyone safe and happy, all visiting dogs must be friendly with children, other dogs, and cats, and must be crate-trained. Please bring your dog's crate, food bowl, food, leash, and collar or harness with you at drop-off so we can maintain their normal daily routine throughout their stay.

“I’m really cautious about who watches my girls, but trust James in a heartbeat! Luna has so many allergies and he followed all of the details that Luna comes with to properly care for her! I never had a doubt about leaving my Luna with James. He also took the girls outside to play from time to time to release some of their pent up energy! When I brought my fur babies home they were exhausted and nap time all around. I always knew what was going on when I was out of town! Thanks James!!”

About: I have owned and cared for dogs throughout my entire life, beginning when I was six years old. Over the past nine years of my military career, I have also gained extensive experience caring for pets while service members were away for field exercises, missions or other military obligations. These experiences have taught me to be responsible, dependable and attentive to individual needs of each animal. I understand the importance of providing consistent care, maintaining routines, and ensuring that pets are safe, comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. Although I work full time, I have flexible availability outside of work. I am available for pet care and boarding on weekends and on weekdays after 6:00 p.m., allowing me to provide your pets with attentive and reliable care during my available hours. I have a fully fenced yard where pets can safely play and enjoy some outdoor time. Our neighborhood also has several nearby parks and a large open field close to our home, providing plenty of opportunities for walks, exercise, and exploration. When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I will follow the owners instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and other daily routines. I will also treat the home with the same care and respect I would want for my own home, keeping the space clean and secure while providing the pet with plenty of attention and companionship.

He is so comfortable and content to overnight there, and they are great about sending pictures while he is with them. About: Aside from being a dog bather and groomer for 2 and 1/2 years, I have always been around all sorts of animals since I was a baby. It is my special interest and so I enjoy going to work everyday and even just helping out neighbors with their pets. I am currently a stay at home mom to a 9 month old, which means I will have plenty of free time and open availability to care for your babies. I am currently a stay at home mom to a 9 month old so I have lots of free time to care for your babies! In my client’s home I try to stick to your pet’s daily routine while also making sure they’re getting plenty of exercise and cuddles! Check ins and updates are given to the owners regularly. In my home routine is important, but most importantly is safety. Pets must be comfortable in a crate so that if I need to ever step away for a short moment they are safe and secure. It’s preferred that your pet is comfortable around other animals such as cats. All dogs staying in my home will have access to a front yard as well as a lovely walk around the neighborhood if that is preferred.

I have a clean background check, a calm home environment, and a heart full of love for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I’m a great fit for you and your pup if you’re looking for: 🏡 A home-away-from-home with high standards of care 🧼 A clean, sanitized, and fresh-smelling environment (daily cleaning includes clean bowls, bedding, vacuuming/mopping, and paw/face wipes) ❤️ A crate-free daytime experience where your pup is loved and engaged—not confined 😇 A calm, stress-free space for pups who prefer quiet and peaceful surroundings 🥰 A sitter who genuinely adores dogs and goes above and beyond to make them feel safe and happy 🚫 A provider with strict policies on vaccines, flea/tick prevention, and a zero-tolerance policy for aggression 🔔 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗦 1️⃣ Booking Info: Please ensure your Rover profile includes accurate info about each of your pets (age, breed, temperament, etc.). I cannot guarantee availability for last-minute requests once my schedule is full. 2️⃣ Drop-Off & Pick-Up Hours: Boarding and daycare hours are 6 AM – 5 PM (7 days a week). Pets picked up after 11 AM will incur an additional daycare fee. Note: Holiday stays, extended stays, and last-minute bookings may include added fees. 3️⃣ Aggression Policy: All breeds and sizes are welcome, but I have a zero-tolerance policy for aggression. If your pet shows aggressive behavior toward me or other dogs, you (or your emergency contact) will need to pick them up promptly. 4️⃣ What to Bring: Please provide all essentials for your pet’s stay: Food (enough for the entire stay) Food and water bowls Well-fitted collar/harness and leash (for walks) Crate (required for both boarding and daycare nap time) Medications (if applicable) Any special items your dog may need 5️⃣ Health Requirements: All pets must be up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. 🐾 If your pet is sick or showing symptoms on the day of drop-off, please notify me. I cannot accept sick pets to protect the health of all animals in my care. 6️⃣ Meet & Greet: I highly recommend scheduling a Meet & Greet before booking. This gives your pup time to get familiar with me and my home, which helps create a more comfortable experience. If a Meet & Greet isn’t possible due to travel/work plans, please provide detailed info about your dog’s needs and personality to ensure a great fit. 7️⃣ Home Damage Policy: If your pet causes damage to my home (e.g., chewing, scratching, furniture/floor damage), you will be responsible for repair costs. While this is rare, please let me know in advance if your dog has separation anxiety or behavior concerns—so we can work together to find the best solutions (like calming vests or vet-prescribed meds). 8️⃣ Clean Drop-Off Policy: To help maintain a fresh-smelling and sanitary space for all pets, I kindly ask that your dog be bathed prior to drop-off. 🏠 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 🌳 We have a fully fenced backyard for supervised playtime. Your pup can enjoy safe, leash-free outdoor fun. 🐕 Daily walks are offered upon request (on leash only). 🛏 All dogs must have a crate for naptime and overnight stays. ⏰ 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 Boarding & Daycare: Monday–Sunday | 6 AM – 5 PM Late pickups and last-minute bookings will include additional fees. Morning potty breaks, breakfast time, and crate refresh—bedding is cleaned and crates are fully sanitized to start the day off fresh. 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Mid-morning potty break followed by face and paw wipes, any necessary medication, and either a walk or supervised backyard playtime. 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Nap time for pups while I tidy up and prep food. Potty breaks provided as needed during this rest period. 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Second feeding of the day, with outdoor potty breaks and a second round of walking or backyard play. 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Evening potty break, snack time, paw cleaning (if needed), and scheduled daycare or boarding pickups. 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Quiet time to wind down and relax before bed. 9:30 PM – 10:00 PM Final potty break of the night, soft calming music, and all pups are tucked into their crates for bedtime. 📌 Puppy Note: Young puppies receive hourly potty breaks throughout the day to support their potty training and routine development. ❤️ I’m frequently complimented on how fresh and clean my home smells—and I truly take pride in creating a welcoming, well-kept space for every pup in my care. To help maintain this environment, I kindly ask that all pets be bathed prior to drop-off. ➡️ All clients will be required to sign a brief agreement after booking to confirm understanding of the services, expectations, and policies. FAQs for Dog Boarding - Gracey

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 172 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Gracey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

98% of sitters in Gracey can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Gracey home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Gracey.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gracey. On Rover:

  • 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Gracey sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
