I've had my oldest dog since she was 2-months old, so I am experienced in raising puppies. My approach to puppies is a positive reward one, and that is how I trained my dog when she was little. She picked up potty training and walking on a leash very quickly with this method. I also have a rescue dog I adopted when she was a year and a half. She has some trauma and came to me with lots of kennel stress and a distrust for men. I am experienced with "difficult" or reactive dogs thanks to her! She is the sweetest dog at home but becomes reactive on dog walks and I am working with trainers to help. Again, I prefer a positive reward approach and patience with all animals. Safety is my number one concern! I am very aware of what body language is threatening to dogs and how to best go about things so both myself and the dog feels safe. I prefer not to do on leash greetings, unless specified otherwise, and am good at getting positive engagement from dogs.
