“We had Natasha do 2 drop-ins a day over the holiday weekend and she followed all instructions. She was also kind enough to bring our packages inside. The dogs enjoyed her company. We will be booking her again in the future! Thank you Natasha!”

“Adriana was wonderful with our 3 girls!!! Even our old lady was extremely comfortable with her (she usually hides if we are away). 5 stars only because I cannot give 10! Thank you, Adriana for being so wonderful with the pups!”
“Jennifer is truly the best and our doggies love her! Sometimes things come up and we can’t get home to them right away and Jennifer is is our life saver. Her drop in visits are so helpful and she has always been flexible and available. She’s fantastic with our doggies from playing, giving them pets, water refills, potty breaks and walks. Her communication is great from checking in, to sending pics and making sure all needs are met. In addition, Jennifer has done multiple house stays while we’ve been on vacation and we never have to worry about our fur babies! 🐶 If I could give Jennifer a 10 star I would, she’s that great!”

“Thank you Jenny for visiting my very needy Standard Poodle, Work-o-holic German Shorthaired Pointer and very bossy mixed breed small dog. I look forward to working with you in the future!”

“Quetzaly took excellent care of our two cats while we were out of town. She was very easy say to work and sent lots of great pictures of the cats with each card. I highly recommend having her watch over your pets!”

“Wanqiu was fantastic! She took excellent care of my Shiba Inu, keeping me updated and giving me complete peace of mind. My dog had a great time, and I highly recommend Wanqiu to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!”

“Megan goes above and beyond! Our dog could instantly tell she was a kind, loving, new friend! So thankful we found her and are looking forward to booking again soon!”

“Tori made our vacation truly stress-free by caring for our two dogs while we were away. Her updates were fantastic, and we had absolutely no doubts that our fur-babies were in good hands. She is responsible and kind, timely, and her love for animals is always apparent. She is a top-notch sitter.”

“Crystal cared for our pets as if they were her own, which is exceptional. She handled our anxious dog like a champ and gave our attention seeking cat so much attention. Will definitely call her again if in need.”

“Jacquelyn was an amazing cat and dog sitter! So responsible and caring for both of them and their health needs. I have already booked her again while we go on another trip! So excited to know she will be caring for them again.”

About: Hi! I’m Carmen! 🐾❤️ If you’re anything like me, your dog isn’t “just a dog” — they’re family. And when you have to leave them, you want someone you can actually trust to take care of them, love on them, and treat them like their own. That’s where I come in! 😊 I’m a dependable, caring, and responsible pet lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs. Whether your pup needs a good walk, a drop-in visit, some playtime and attention, or care while you’re away, I’m happy to help. I’m also a big believer in following your dog’s routine and respecting their personality. Some dogs want to play and get ALL the attention, while others need a little time to warm up — and that’s completely okay. I’ll meet them where they’re comfortable. ❤️ You can expect lots of love, attention, belly rubs (when approved 😂), fresh water, and plenty of updates so you know your fur baby is doing just fine. Most importantly, I understand that leaving your pet with someone is a BIG deal. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re being cared for, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! 🐶🐾 My Availability 🐾 I’m currently available Monday-Sunday 6am-10pm 🐶❤️ I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible, so if you have a specific time you need, just ask! I’ll do my best to make it work. Weekends are wide open for walks, drop-ins, and keeping your fur babies company while you’re away. 🐾😊 How I Care for Your Pets 🐾❤️ When you leave your fur babies with me, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in good hands. I follow their normal routine, pay attention to their individual needs and personalities, and give them plenty of love, attention, playtime, and belly rubs when they’re approved. 😂 I’m big on communication, too! I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you don’t have to wonder how your baby is doing. If I notice anything unusual with their behavior, eating, bathroom habits, or overall well-being, I’ll let you know. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I treat every dog as an individual because, let’s be honest, they all have their own personalities—and they definitely know what they want! 😂🐶 My promise is simple: I’ll care for your pet with the same patience, attention, and love I would want someone to give mine. ❤️

About: Hi, I’m Afton! I provide one-on-one care by accepting only one family’s pets at a time! I have a very quiet home, perfect for new guests! I have found that hosting one family’s pets at a time leaves me with more time to spoil and help your pets settle in! I love gaining new experience in pet care, I have watched newborn puppies, kittens, and even ducks! I have a senior pug, he has been with me since I started kindergarten! I absolutely adore senior dogs due to my experience with him, they hold a special place in my heart. My background also includes time at the Riverside Animal Shelter, where I trained dogs and made sure they were well-socialized, and ready to be adopted. Along with this, I have also volunteered at the Hidden Valley Nature Center! Mainly taking care of the animals and helping to maintain their habitats. I am a college student, working towards a masters degree! Working for Rover allows me to go to school and also work from home! I always enjoy having a pet by my side, as I like to stay busy throughout the day. I take walks in the mornings and evenings, I would love for your pet to come with me! My neighborhood is very hilly if dogs need to let out energy! Regular bathroom breaks and additional walks are always part of our routine to keep them active and content. My goal is to make sure each dog feels loved, safe, and well cared for. I will provide a lot of enrichment activities to keep them occupied, puzzle toys are always a favorite.
About: I have a love and passion for pets! A weakness in my heart, I have always taken care of animals having so many in my life. From pet sitting my friends, family members, and even taking care of my own when I got my first ever dog at six years old- my baby BooBoo (a terrier mix). I have a passion for all animals even our little snake and reptile friends. I know it is very anxiety-inducing when leaving a pet to a stranger, but I still have a hard time letting my dog be watched by my friends! So I know it's a process for both the owner and the pet. I am very loving, caring, and patient with pets and see them as more than just the title "pet" but part of the family! I work part-time and am a college freshman, so I am usually free on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Whenever days open up for me I will list them immediately! I carefully overview the loving instructions I get from the pet owner and be sure to carefully follow them through while also being very attentive, caring, patient, and loving with these pets. I never want to put pets through a stressful situation and make sure the owner feels anxiety free when leaving their pet in my care. I will always care for the pet as if it was my own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
