I am very happy to write a 5☆review for Dan and Denise. I first met them in July 2017.I had inquired about their services for my previous dog and loved what I saw. Unfortunately, my Dog suddenly passed away and I did not use them . I did however save their contact information and now 9 months later , I have a new puppy. As soon as I needed daycare I called them up. Bruno spent a full day with them in their house and parklike backyard. He had a great stay and will be coming back on a regular basis. I am very happy with the care he received !

Jillian took a last minute request for us and was extremely nice. She was kind, provided updates when requested, and also was extremely flexible with our time. But a note, the bio does say non-smoking household and our dog did come home smelling like cigarette smoke, but other than that the experience was great.

Veronique was very quick in getting back to us which was great. Kennedy had such a fun time and we would love to have Kennedy return! Highly recommend!

I am available throughout the day and for planned vacations. I’m retired and am available to go to your home and care for your dog. I don’t have a dog of my own anymore and am eager to play, care and walk your dog. I’m available to feed, walk and play with your dog. This August we sought a warm and private alternative to the larger dog camps because our dog sitter (my daughter) was returning to college. Eliana and her entire family were warm & welcome. They allowed us to stop by for a meet & greet and even taught my dog (12 yr old) how to use a doggie door. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Eliana is amazing! She sent us pictures throughout the day during every visit & told me about the emotional state of my dog (sad because she misses my daughter). That meant the world to me. God bless Eliana & family. Best decision I made all summer!

Cody is an incredible dog walker & sitter, reliable, kind, and truly caring. My dog absolutely loves spending time with him, and it’s easy to see how much Cody loves what he does. He’s patient, attentive, and always shows up with a smile. I completely trust Cody with my dog, and I couldn’t ask for a better person to care for my pup when I’m not around. Highly recommend!

About: I’m a retired professional with a calm, patient nature and a genuine love for animals. My sister has two dogs, one of whom is a super senior with special needs, so I’m very comfortable providing extra attention, patience, and thoughtful care. With a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to one-on-one care, I enjoy creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for dogs and cats. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, medication routines, or quiet companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own—offering reliable care and true peace of mind to pet parents. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. As a retired professional, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my day around a pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m home for most of the day, which means plenty of time for walks, play, feeding, medication schedules, and quiet companionship. I enjoy building consistent routines that help pets feel secure and comfortable, and I’m able to give them my full attention without feeling rushed. This flexibility also allows me to adapt easily to senior pets or those with special needs who may require extra time, patience, or monitoring. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs—whether in my home or in a client’s home. I follow all feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, regular walks or playtime, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m especially attentive to senior and special-needs pets, including administering medications as directed and keeping a calm, consistent environment. In a client’s home, I respect their routines and space, making sure pets feel secure and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I also keep pet parents updated with check-ins and notes so they can feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.

About: I grew up in a house full of pets and have volunteered at various pet rescues. Now, 51 years later, through every chapter of my life, milestones, joys, and losses, there has always been a pet by my side. I can’t imagine a home without the sound of paws, the comfort of companionship, or the simple, grounding presence of an animal. I work full time from home and am happy to be flexible to any schedule. This works particularly well for pets that are used to a routine. My pets include a Labrador Retriever named "Jax" who is 6 years old. Jax likes to run about in our fenced yard. I also have 3 cats named "Beau", "Shadow" and "Oliver" who remain indoor. All of my babies are rescues.

About: Hey im matt, and Ive lived with animals since i could remember always having a house full of 4 cats and 4 dogs at once! I know the behavior and ins and outs of any dog or cat so i can quickly be able to adapt to their emotions and behavior to make them feel safer and happier. Your furbabies will be treated to the highest standard as i do my own animals :) i have left previous jobs due to the lack of care of certain animals and environment conditions they were in due to the lack of control i had of the situation, i even have saved 15+ lost dogs and returned them home and saved them from car accidents during my daily drives working my delivery job. i would literally stop on a dime and ditch my vehicle and stop mid delivery just to go save multiple dogs lost and in danger so hopefully that gives you an idea of the type of care i would take for your own. I have a flexible part time job where i make my schedule so anytime is good for me usually to where i can pop in with no rush or stress and take care what you need done :) Follow and listen to all instructions word for word starting from how to enter the home to how to greet your pet to how to leave and say bye to ur pet if a certain manner is needed. i can adapt to any environment or condition to make sure your pet is safe and sound under your instructions :)

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Gilgo-Oak Beach-Captree

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 4,775 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Gilgo-Oak Beach-Captree. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gilgo-Oak Beach-Captree commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 4,775 sitters in Gilgo-Oak Beach-Captree, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
